  1. I'll like to take a moment to interpret what I read so far ...

It is undisputed the importance that trance had on the establishment of dance electronic music... in its beginning ... trance is all we had ... it is how we learned to love and appreciate electronic music in a larger scale ...

the popularity of drugs like xtc started in the late eighties and early nineties ... being trance the medium of music ... clubbers got the inmediate association of trance and xtc ...

the producers of the early trance tracks took into consideration the "feeling" their clubbers went thru in their clubbing nite experience ... the bpms and ups and downs of the tracks seemed to maximize the efects on the clubber ...

progressive house took over the mainframe of electronic music by bringing in a more sounds into the structure ... the different sounds interacting at the same time created a new effect on the clubbers "head" ... the need of high energy bpm was indeed reduced ...

in this process ... trance saw its number of followers reduced ... a new sound that brought optimal effects ... more of a journey ... instead of a constant high peak of corporal extassy as trance did ...

the fact that proggy still plays with your brain as trance does ... has kept the use of xtc in clubs ... the base of clubbers has grown ... the old school trance heads that turned into proggy don't need xtc no more to understand what they felt ... the flashback is inmediate ... alcohol is enough ... the need to "roll" is occasional ...

new sounds have started to evolve ... sounds that incorporate in a minimum amount the need of a track to attack the "mind" ... sounds that are meant to play with your body as oppossed to your brain ... the source is tribal and breaks ... is rythms ... their problem ... they are monotonous for a whole nite...

mixing proggy and breaks frees the mind and allows to play with the body ... the new genres of music .. and their producers ... take this into account ... that is the new direction of dance music ... it is still in the shades ... but it is growing thru exposure ...

As GA2 said ... deep house doesn't need a chemical stimulant to get you going ... it's not an adrenalin rush ... it is a fun time with rythms ... vocals ... and the only legal drug that maximizes club owners pockets ... alcohol

there is a bridge between deep house and the proggy sounds of house ... and that bridge still gives you a faster bpm than deep house ... but its mainframe isn't adrenalin oriented like trance and its successor proggy ... the grow of this new sound will swallow in an inversely proportional manner ... the followers of trance ... think of trance being in the far right ... deep house in the far left ... proggy in between both ... techy and funky house in between deep and proggy ... the boundary between proggy and funk house is clear ... the first still needs to play with your head ... the latter only with your body ...

I don't need to convince anyone ... just think about it ... music evolves ...

    Is this a Bliss event?

Crobar will be Crobar again for that nite ... I have no doubts ... they lost the consistency thou... :hat:

  3. The club scene is redefining itself ... maybe after many years with the same DJs entertaining the hot girls in this town (much better women than in NYC IMHO) ... they might finally learn to club ...

Why not make a donation and pay Cedric and Ivano a three year vacation ... in Somalia? ... the in between of music and crowd was Crobar ... no more ... thanx CG :blown::hat:

ivano is not even the second best dj @ space. he fuckin sucks. i can't stand his music. it makes me so fucking bored. he has no soul and he is very redundant.

LOUIS PLEASE DO NOT PUT IVANO CHESELINI AS A RESIDENT @ THE NEW SPACE. he is very disrespectful and he sucks.

GET RID OF IVANO @ SPIN........it's a new year and we need to put spin on the map as the next super club.

as soon as dj roland comes off the patio i am outta there. as dj roland is the TRUE king of the space patio. not to mention he is humble and not disrespectful like ivano (u fuckin jackass)

I think Biz missed this post ... without trying to trash Iv-ano more than what he deserves ... he is indeed a mediocre DJ ... and probably the one responsible for the lack of musical taste in the "A-list and wannabee" crowd ... "Give the people what they want" ... but why not show them quality stuff?

Roly deserves to be the resident at Spin ... every Friday ... isn't it that Music Matters? :hat:

That crowd is so disgusting ... they are called "french baguettes" .... they come out at 7 am and by 8 am they are "stiff" and useless ...

BTW Jesse ... great pic ... can u imagine just washing off the roof of the new venue with ... acid ?? ... lets just pray Pod is our major one of this days ... in preparation for Pres. ... he would clean that area of nitelife as Giuliani cleaned NYC :hat:

  6. I believe Crobar gave him the boot already ... he is supposed to be playing Sats at Luna :laugh:

If only LP could understand that cheesy clubbers could also be educated  ... what a waste of trees and plastic to produce something by that loser ...

Hey Digital 7 .... wanna roll and listen to it?? ...:hat:

DJ Laz for example has been tearing up Power 96 for years and has had club deep packed way longer space was ever invented. If anyone he deserves the credit for putting Miami on the map. People from all over come her and listen to Power 96.

yet i never see his name mentioned with Edgar V and Oscar G.

There OK Djs ill give you that but they are overated.

Now if that other guy Ralph Falcon was anygood power would have put him on thier mix roster wouldnt some of you agree?:blank:

every balance & creations party at crobar has been fantastic from dave seaman to james zabiela to chris fortier & steve porter. none of these dj's have mixed at space or spin i think. but i know they will soon.

what a shame because i truely love the dancefloor at crobar. but, maybe if the electronic gods have a say in it crobar will bring down some fantastic talent this year. then we can have 2 super clubs again.....maybe spin #3?

    Yes Mr.Movement33 ..... I agree w/u ...

And just to add a suggestion regarding Mr. Kleinenberg's set at Space ..... make it an extended set ..... and make sure to hide those bottles from Sander .... remember Opium's nite? ...
