  2. Funketeer...... You are working hard for your free drinks huh? Remember you invite this Friday. And if you don't show up, I'll call your girl, Carla?, the one from last week. She had a good time and I'm sure she would come with me:love: Vip:laugh:
  3. Same way as quest4sunrise, can't fit in any Vip... Happy birthday Louis, thank you for bringing us quality music week after week. Biz, I'll be there for Anthony Pappa. Happy birthday to you too in advance. Vip
  4. NO CPrs SHOWED UP?????!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Vip
  5. Didn't make it to Space last Saturday, as much as I like Tom Stephan. Way to drunk Friday, way to tired after Tyler/J Tripp and Timo.... Saw him the prior time he came to Space. Liked it a lot, but still preferred his Warming Up or his Essential Mix. Vip
  6. Yeah Pod, there is plenty of house in Miami. There is almost no trance, but that is the route electronic music has taken. Didn't they close the Friday nights at Space with Edgar V? There are less tranceheads and many more houseaddicts...... Vip
  7. I 2nd your idea to bring local talent, but a guy who spins at Nikki's, Pearl, Opium?????? What the f@@k!!!!!!!! I'll be there Friday to check out Mono and Chris and swing late to Crobar to catch DS. Vip

  11. Jon: Good luck Thursday at Big DJ Little Club. I'll be there. Friday I'll try my best to catch you. Will be at Lola to check out Chris Duque and Mono Henao, highly recommended when you have a chance, but will make it late to Crobar for a bit of DS. :) Vip
  12. Or.........., maybe we will start to see a new wave of free talent at clubs everywhere, and lets say, have at the same time a fulltime job in the PR department of some multinational liquor company:laugh: It really sucks for the post-chemical generation DJs. But at least they can keep up with their love for music. Vip
  13. Koky.........You are right with what you wrote. This shouldn't happen. Don't want to break your balls but, Jews describes a religion, not a race. Italian describes a nationality not a race or religion. And Argentinian is that little guy we all have inside us aka as ego:laugh:  Leaving the joke aside, get clear the concepts of race, religion and nationality because there is enough conflict between races, religions and nations, to combine them now. Peace and love, Vip

    Robbie Rivera?

He packed the house at Spin. I guess he will do it again. Vip
  15. Tip: Get pregnant of the UPS guy who works out at Crunch, seduce his parents for another 9 months, and then cash out!!!!!! Vip
  16. Funk..... Loved the night as well. Chris and Mono are an authentic duo. Two hints thou: 1) Pay for your drinks, you drunk bastard. 2) You just write without reading the board???? Duh,Duh, DuUUUUUUUUUUUhhhhh!! ......It was nice to see ya again. And Corinto. And Marco. And, what was the name/phone of your girl????? Vip
  17. Dan.......Send a copy of the pic to DVOX:laugh: Maybe now they'll understand your talent:confused: Congrats bro. Am I getting my pic from Crobar's VIP publoised anytime soon? The one with the two blonds!!! Vip

Was the pic taken at Opium?????
  20. Marco.......... Chris and Mono rocked. They are my favs, and happy to see their careers take off. the 4/4 they did enhances their duo strengths. Sick tech-house Liked Joseph Anthony, more the end than the beginning. Gotta go back to work!!!! Vip
  21. Have to recognize the courage you guys have to bring new talent to the table. And to educate all of us who can only learn so much and so fast. As purpleindigo tells you, 10% of who you think is in the bag actually shows up. It comes I guess to economics and marketing. You guys did what you were supposed to do: flyers, guestlist, posters... Guess what. There are only so many out there that will go out on a given Friday or Saturday. And they go where: Crobar, Level, Space. Now, this places bring big talent that is direct competition with your event. They have bigger budgets, bigger name DJs recognizable by the masses, places that get packed by 70% of people who don't even know who is playing that night. That leaves you with a dilemma. Why become a promoter on a weekend when it is going to be almost impossible to succeed? My suggestion, become a promoter on a night when you can get the atention of 100% of the music lovers. Those who will end up at the three bigger clubs on a weekend. Bring the talent on a Tuesday, Wedenesday or Thursday. For example, Big DJ Little Club at Lola is doing this every other Thursday. I'm not sure of what is going on at Level on Thursdays, but we all know Space is closed and Crobar has hip-hop (just to break my b@lls they will send The SHow to Lola on the 24th of OCt. cause MTV rented Crobar and will have Roger Sanchez there). But going back to my point, you have week nights that have better chances of attracting more people. Your own night would be certainly stronger on a Tuesday, or Wednesday. I'm sure Stryke's night at Red would also be stronger on a weekday, because whenever any of us wants to go out during the week there is no quality night, with almost any exception. In conclusion: It is tuff to market a product if there is less demand. Study your night, look for a night that has a potential, and keep the promoting. Even though there are less people that go out during the week, there is almost no competition. There are few exceptions to this rule, and they happen to be at the same club, Lola. Aquabooty covers a musical niche without almost any competition, good work Joe Budious. Fridays for Phat Music Sessions has two great DJs who have gained their following in the true underground (outside Clubs, = warehouses). I saw them once in a warehouse party and waited for a month to receive an e-mail of the next party. And it ended being a residency at Lola. Good work Marco Davalos. I'm a fan of Lola for this reason. Not because of trendy girls or because of a hook-up at the door or bar. I pay my $5 to get in and have two or three beers. With $20 I'm done. Big DJ Little Club does the same for me for an extra $2 only. It's a point of view to consider. "I'll rather be the head of a mouse than the tail of a Lion". And as a promoter you can't built what the club owners haven't done for you.......... Cheers, Vip
  22. Did you pay him what you owe????
