LOLA began DJing in 1999 after spending nearly 10 years in New York City's club and music scenes. She attended several now-legendary parties and clubs in NYC's early 90s, including "Soul Kitchen," "Giant Step," The Palladium, Twilo, Club USA, "Cafe Con Leche," "Sugar Babies," "Bang the Party," Sapphire Bar, and the Limelight. Lola was drawn to the freedom of expression she felt possible in clubs. As she found her "niche," she discovered "Bang the Party" where she met her friend and soon-to-be DJ partner, Eric "EMan" Clark. Lola founded her four-years-and-running weekly event "Deep See" with EMan in May 2000. The party grew to a cornerstone of New York City's underground circuit and became a stopping point for most DJs when they visited New York. The roster of guests includes: Miguel Graca (Bombay Records), Slam Mode (Spiritual Life), Lenny Fontana, Jaymz Nylon, Neil Aline (Chez Music), Matthias Heilbronn (Wave Music, Soulflower Ent.), Shauna Slevin (Ibadan), and countless others. Lola has played in many venues in New York City including: Sapphire Bar & Lounge, Frank's Lounge (Brooklyn), Centro-Fly, Baktun, the Sullivan Room, Luke & Leroy, Speeed, the Duplexx, and several others. She has played internationally in Montreal, Canada, and in the states in Washington D.C., New Haven, CT and Miami, Florida. In addition to producing Deep See, Lola produces a radio show called "ASND" (another scientific needle drop) which streams from CyberJamz Internet Radio, and organizes occasional events under her media company, mochilab media. www.deepseenyc.com www.cyberjamz.com www.mochilab.com
