  1. Def def perfect, started out ncie and deep and slowly picked up the pace of the music and the sounds. People were dancing people were having fun people were screaming and clapping and whistling quite a nice crowd. Musically a nice full set by behrouz is def magic. Alot of ya missed out hopefully next time ya wont. Highlight of the night for me was danny tenaglias edit of stoppage time being played in that room.
  2. what if you bought your ticket online can you skipp general admission line. Reason being cause i get out of work at 4 but gonantry to leave around 3ish.
  3. first one on the dancefloor last one out the door.
  4. again SHELTER sat night is open from 11pm till 12-1pm sunday afternoon. Might not be for everyone but still an option.
  5. What im saying is lenny dee was 17yrs old in 1984 correct? Now he was one of the first new yorkers pushing that sound coming out of detroit called techno mixed with his own style of music playing. Now the techno he was pushing at FIRST came from detroit courtesy of juan atkins, derrick may, kevin saunderson who all were influence among places chicago with Rony Hardy and the music box. Now when lenny teamed up with frankie bones did the europe tour they were seeing the raves that were being fueld by ACID HOUSE which was alot of the chic house music that was made in the mid to late 80s as well as newer stuff that was being made from there. Frankie was from new york and talks about larry levan in the maestro dvd. And whoever said frankie has nothing to do with the ny house scene is a bit wrong did you forget his meeting with tommy musto? And he is from nyc you know.
  6. Nice non funny joke but for those who dont know what the potin of his comment was TIMMY REGISFORD is the main dj from SHELTER. But this is BODY N SOUL and has nothing to do with TImmy.
  7. aND DONT FORGET THE PEOPLE WHO CAME WAY BEFORE THEM AS WELL HEHE/.
  8. Ive grown up with house music since 1989 at my house so i do have alot of vinyl and music from that era. And i would love to be there, but with goin out thurs and then working sat after work ps1 and then cielo and then work on sun i was gonna take fri night off.
  9. I left my g/f sick at home that night lol and it was worth it.
  10. Paul is playing on weds night at BED in early mid july.
  11. YIkes i had to re edit my post, I CANT BELIVE I FORGOT TO MENTION SHELTER as the best sound in NYC.
  12. I doubt i could amke it but just wanna say anyone who goes to this party might be suprised how many tracks from TODAY or the past 2-5 yrs have samples from these older tracks. Also might suprise how some of the music from back then still kicks ass. Cevin and angel spent alot of time at soundfactory hearing junior vasquez work those tracks so it should be a good night. And both angel and junior were at the paradise garage hearing larry levan work it down. I would be there if it wasnt for body n soul on sat afternoon, i work sat morning. Have fun everyone.
  13. I guess it also depends on the style of music your into. SHELTER has had its doors open for 15yrs now on sat nights from 11pm till sun afternoon 12-3pm depending on if theirs a special occasion, usually closes around 12-1pm though. So thats already 14hrs weekly of music for you so expect a lot of different music along the journey with the majority of it being deephouse but like isaid dont be suprise when you hear a dark tech song either.
  14. Oh and for the record LOVE is packed every other sun night for JOE CLAUSSELL bi weekly SACRED RHYTHM party.
  15. Im trying my best to do what i can for the house music culture which i love and sometimes get alot of shit for on this board which i dont mind. I also have my own party goin on called STIMULUS>RESPONSE which is a local party that has been doing some good numbers at different venues. As for exacta dont be suprise if one day we come together and work on something. Theres a lot of djs that are already established and have been playing since the 70/80s and are still doin it, much respect and love to them. His time will come as will the time of other djs, its sometimes all about timing and the right place and person to help ones career out. Im sure we will cross paths one time or another and when we do say hello. I wouldve been there on sat but was to tired.
  16. I wasnt to cray bout the match up myself figured it would be a bit better but i still had a good time. As for filling up the place well i hate to toot my own horn but for the stimulus response party we did about 190 people which was pretty damn good.
  17. now is this an original tunnel reunion from the 1980s when it opened?
  18. Exacta is a cool guy and ive only managed to hear him once and i liked it althought i hear it wasnt really a good reflection og what hes about. So i look forward to hearing things from him soon. So since your all about supporting the right people and stuff will you be at P.S.1 this sat?
  19. SO im gonna go on tues so if your around say hello. And bring the women in your sig lol.
  20. 1.Shelter,Love 2.cielo 3.Spirit 4.Pacha are my order as for the sound of crobar its just loud big deal. But damn do they get talent lol.
  21. Its gonna be a mad house and i cant wait. Nothing is goin to compare to BODY N SOUL on july 1st. See you guys there. And if you never been to hear DANNY KRIVIT,FRANCOIS K, JOE CLAUSSELL well nows your chance to see what the hype is about. Heres a clip from one of the BODY N SOUL djs MR.JOE CLAUSSELL from a set at SPIRIT when BODY n SOUL got together on a tues night for a hurricane Katrina benefit. And as i always say theres not a better vibe at a party then when that crowd gets together. Just listen to them erupt at 49secs. Now this isnt a clip from Body n soul but the vibe is somewhat similar with the crowd singing along to the MUSIC. Its from the SHELTER 15yr anniversary party at the 2006 wmc and the track is something i have heard DANNY KRIVIT of BODY n SOUL play at 718 sessions monthly party here in NYC. Shelter nyc is another place i think some of you who havent been to yet should check out. The dj in the clip is STING INTERNATIONAL one of the 3 residents with the others being TIMMY REGISFORD (all 15yrs), QUENTIN HARRIS.
  22. I suggest you go to SAPPHIRE LOUNGE for the weekly DEEP SEE party with EMAN n LOLA, its a house crowd with a lot of dancers and music heads. Party has been goin strong for 6 yrs now and covers a lot of musical styles from deep house to tech to broken beat to funk/soulful stuff. Dont worry about dressing up not that type of place a bit small and doesnt get crazy until about 12am till closing. 5 bucks after 11.1130i believe. But def a different experience then you might be use to. And a totally great night once the lights come on.
  23. Will get back to this review a bit later but i want to say after being at STEREO for 13hrs on thurs. Danny Tenaglia played best set i have ever heard from any dj in my 10 1/2 yrs of goin out. That shit was just unreal, yes the soundsystem was as great as they say it was. Some say it isnt the same as when shorty was there but i cant comment on that. And again the mark of a great dj to me is never playing the newest tracks for 6+hrs of one musical style. As ive always said "A GOOD DJ PLAYS THE NEWEST TRACKS, A GREAT DJ PLAYS 30+YRS WORTH OF DANCE MUSIC". Danny went all over the place from House, tribal, old school dance classics, techo, deep house, tech house, personal edits, old school garage tracks, frank sinitra, the beatles, get what im saying. Anything you might have heard danny t play in nyc can not compare to what i experience musically at STEREO with his track selection. This was def truly a special night of music. And his set on thurs was the best set i have ever heard any dj play in my life. Also is now my most favorite night out of all time. Times like this i wish the set was recorded. Alot of nyc danny t fans were in the house and from san fran, boston, chi, finland, damn i wish i was still there.
