  1. man i wonder how many of his fans consist of people whose first party or dj they heard was jp.
  2. I guess you havent read nomembername signature lol. And i have to much on my plate this week anyway, thurs, fri, sat, sun.
  3. i actually thought it was last week, i might just go check it out then.
  4. Oh man im busted i answer phone on weekend that si true, let me add some other stuff you forgot to mention, i also work during as a dancer on various projects. And i use to manage a hair salon for 4 yrs and dont feel the need to go back to something like that or get stuck in a cubical. And then bitch and complain bout my job like most people do. I love what i do.
  5. willie graff and nicholas have 2 different styles and sometimes pay together on fri and sat. Willie has opened for dubtribe, roger sanchez, sasha among others when they have played cielo,he recently open for sasha and digweed atr crobar a few weks ago, and for new yrs eve willie and tedd patterson held it down. Def check out willie on a fri night. And if your free im having a small party in the les if your interested and its free. Afterwards check out cielo or love where tedd patterson is also playing, sadl yi cant be there grr. Also shelter opening this sat.
  6. Sadly people dont know that, heres an example. A 17 yr old hears the radio KTU some cheesy song with vocals and sythnsesizers. Next thign you know does a research on clubs for 18yrs old, JP is playing, 6 yrs later he/she only goes to jp parties only hears jps music and ktu with the occasional louie devito cd. And swears that jp is the greatest dj in the world and only really knows about his party and that scene ONLY.
  7. This has nothing to do with house music, lol. Will think about your question and get back to ya.
  8. im a big fan of willie graff you should check him out on fri nights as well. On sats its usually nicholas matar who is also a very good dj and has a wide selection of music. Glad you had fun, personally i think you cant go wrong with that club if theres nothing else goin on that interests you. glad you had fun.
  9. He always had david depino or joey llanos open upfor him,and remember larry played on both fri and sats, for 10yrs. Far from it, do a search on how many djs were inspired worldwide by larry and what his legacy meant and still means to the hosue world. Djs like danny tenaglia, david morales, junior vasquez, roger sanchez, joe claussell, paul oakenfold, francois k,tedd patterson for example were all inspried from larry. Look how many people each one of those djs have inspired ,angel moraes, victor calderone, hector romero, cevin fischer, and even jp himself were inspired from the djs that were inspired from larry. Lets see what jps crowd will contribute to the future of house music. Also remember laryy died in 1992 and his bday has been celebrated for the past 13yrs each yr and its filled with peopel from all over the world paying tribute. Must i go on.
  10. i have alot of haters for various reasons.
  11. just make sure you make reference that this is only ONE type of scene and does not represent the overall worldwide culture of house music.
  12. i think afa pretty much summed it up. CLASSIC does mean different things to differnet people but a house classic is something that means something in the whole house world genre.
  13. when i posted this article the reason i posted that title was becuase rhats how it was posted when i got it. Thats why the title is in quotations. And im around alotof those same guys that were out back then that still go out and could put alot of peopel to shame on the dancefloor despite thier age. Im not living in the past at all one bit, i just bring it up on boards so peopel can read, personally im always goign out and buying music that comes out every week. i support the scene in many ways as i can. But i am far from stuck on the past, again the reason it seems that way is again because alot of people on this dont know "any" history at all so these threads could be a good way to start. Personally to me the best parties are when a dj can mix and play music from over 30yrs and teh crowd is in thier 20-50s and everybody knows the songs and is dancing like thiers no tomorrow. not every party i go to is like that but i know whhen i am at those its def somethign special.
  14. when it comes to things im passionate about boxing, house music i become a historian of sorts. Reading, reasearching, buying books talkign to people who have been around longer than i have. Hearing and collecting music and fights form decades ago. I think its sad when people dont know or care about the history of something they claim to love. But then again for some people "clubbing" is a trend/fad, while for others its a way of life. Ive been goin out since 1995 and my back and kness and ankles are damaged but i planned to keep dancing till i cant dance no more. If your interested in learnign more about the paradise garage, the loft, the gallery, or some house music history let me know and i will link you to alot of my posts or other links lol.
  15. i just saw all the youtube videos on that party and well. Im glad ya all had fun but i cant seeing ymself goin back to hear him anytime soon. Last time i heard him was around 98/99 maybe even 1 or 2 times in 2000 i cant recall now. And from what ive seen and read and heard im sure jp parties are fun for those who enjoy that enviroment. But no thanks. And wow alot of back n forth arguin goin on here is giving me somethign to read since i cant sleep.
  16. I dont think we know each other but damn you must not be goin out to hear different djs, cause believe me jp is not the only one who does these things.
  17. you couldve just put a review on the jp reveiw thread. And king of new york is a bit stretching it i guess you forget the name so fjds like, danny tenaglia, francois k, timmy regisford, danny krivit, joe claussell who have been playing for 30yrs or more ALL OVER THE WORLD and play consitently here in new york as well. And have all had residencies that have meant something in the overall history of house music.
  18. Lol i guess you didnt get the joke. Fyi i dont even own a a/x shirt thats for the spiky hair fellas.
