  1. yo rayray we dont know each other to well but lay off the gay, homo shit your coming off in the wrong way with those words.
  2. people shoudl show more love to nyc djs, such as joeski, angel moraes, cevin fischer, tedd patterson, hector romero for example, insteadof running to hear these euro djs play a room just because global underground put them on a cd.
  3. a dj makes a venue not the venue mkaes a dj. So while a venue might be terrible, if a good dj or legendary prodcuer like todd terry, doc martin, dj sneak are playing at this club then it will be a good night musically. Everythign else goin on around you is questionable though, just gotta make the best ofit and hope that like minded fans come out to support and hear the djs as well.
  4. If hes playing and theres a bunch of local cats playing at the same time i will be at the local peopels party. Not enough to get me to go hear him again, unless nothing else is goin on. A great producer does not make a great dj and vice versa.
  5. I hear him only 2 times and had a great time CIELO was def a lot of fun a yr ago i think. Im not dying to hear him cause to me hes still very over hyoed, and alot of peopel are realyl into those european djs if they make one or 2 productiosn that big djs rock, suddenyl these euro djs are in high demand.
  6. Are you serious? Damn kid sorry to hear that, i got into a fight with one of those jucie heads myself almost a yr ago guy hit me when i wasnt looking and i laughed at him while his boys and girls kept pushing him away till security got rid of all of them. Guess he was mad his g/f wanted to dance with me. All that muscle and no power thats why i was laughing, fixed my bandana and continued dancing.
  7. i have a party that night@ NEST on 28th st from 10till 5am so i will be coming after that. Im guessing danny t will be on by then but im gonna leave around 9am cause im suppose to be at work at 9am lol.
  8. I couldve sworned i just read that DJ SNEAK will be at avalon next sat the 15th, something about TODD TERRY playing their soon as well as DOC MARTIN. Wow this sounds very very interesting, anybody have details as to whose putting this party together or if its real. Never thought i would step back into that room, but now i just might if these djs are playing.
  9. I said it b4 i'll say it again, JP is very popular amongst his fans only and his 7yr residency will be looked upon in the history books as really nothing significant. What did that 7yr residency contribute to the global scene, what djs came out from that crowd that are huge, who beyond his tri state area goes to see him at other gigs? The only thing he taught people was how to go thru it (cheap attempt at joke) now that aside, i know his parties are fun and mean something to people, so thats cool for them. But again take a dj like danny tenaglias 5 yrs residency and compare it to significance to jps 7yr and well theres no competition or comparison. Look at how much LARRY LEVAN and the PARADISE GARAGE 19yrs after closing is still talked about in the industry. When people in the industry speak of SOUNDFACTORY their usually talking about the 27th street location during the late 80s',early 90s.
  10. Can you be more specific? Do you mean like MINSTRY OF SOUND SESSIONS 1-13 frorm 1993-2001. (1.tony humphries, 2.paul oakenfold,3.c&c music factory,5.masters at work,7.david morales,9.erick morillo,10.subliminal sessions, 8.todd terry,11. roger sanchez, 12.magic sessions,13.kings of tomorrow), when there cd were actually good house music, or the commercial cheese stuff it became with their other releases. Or do you mean ministry of sound music by some of the residents, but thats gonna be hard cause they have alot of guest djs as well, so please be more specific.
  11. I believe the 98 one is an actual documentray of that scene, and the 03 is bascially a movie.
  12. Computerjockey defintely one of the positive peoples in the scene.
  13. If you want some real HOUSE MUSIC HISTORY check these out: PUMP UP THE VOLUME (1,2,3) pt1: http://www.music-101.com/images/pictures/pumpupthevolume.ram pt2: http://www.music-101.com/images/pictures/pumpupthevolume2.ram pt3: http://www.music-101.com/images/pictures/pumpupthevolume3.ram
  14. Funny pic but for the people interested in the links thats nt what its about, good one gotmilk lol.
  15. Well i can help for the HOUSE party not the trance part like the djs you named. WED night i suggest you check out CIELO for the weekly ROOTS party with DJS LOUIE VEGA and KEVIN HEDGE, musically expect house music at its best. And some good dancers and a scene where people go to let loose and shake their asses off till the lights come on. No dress code like the other nights cielo is open besides from mon. Although you will get some people who are curious to go and see cielo which is known for its chic reputation. Cover about 10 bucks. Thurs theres alot of things goin on THURS, if you want some bar/lounge with some local and regulars i suggest go to SIN SIN for the BLUE SKY THURS party. Local djs doing their thing. Also that night i know ELEMENT will be having a party in their VAULT, with djs DOWNDEEP, they play some deep, funky, sext house think miguel migs, kakade, ben watt, type of beats. Also thurs BED is more bottles and models but will have some good djs which i cant recall right now. And fi your aorund tues i suggest you go to SAPPHIRE for some of the best dancers in NYC at the DEEPSEE party with eman n lola. And fri im having a aprty at NEST and then runnin over to CROBAR for DANNY TENAGLIA b4 goin to work. Have a good night whatever you decide.
  16. MAESTRO was a good start for you as you can see how the movement started here in nyc that lead to the birth of HOUSE MUSIC. And here i recommend you watch these there about 1hr each. PUMP UP THE VOLUME (1,2,3) pt1: http://www.music-101.com/images/pictures/pumpupthevolume.ram pt2: http://www.music-101.com/images/pictures/pumpupthevolume2.ram pt3: http://www.music-101.com/images/pictures/pumpupthevolume3.ram And for books i recommend you check out "LOVE SAVES THE DAY" "MY LIFE AND THE PARADISE GARAGE" "YOU BETTER WORK" "LAST NIGHT A DJ SAVED MY LIFE" ANd coming out soon keeps getting delayed THE UNUSUAL SUSPECTS documentary which is somewhat of a chicago version of maestro. As well as A NIGHT AT THE GALLERY,gallery being NICKY SIANOS club which was where both LARRY LEVAN and FRANKIE KNUCKLES were taught how to be djs by NICKY SIANO, and if your interested in more history about HOUSE MUSIC let me know and i will refer you to other websites. As for pumpup the volume being that it was made in europe after part 1 you will see the focus more on what was happening in europe during the late 80s early 90s, and it leaves out what was happening in nyc,chi town, and other stuff. Nonetheless its a very good documentary. Maybe one day there will be a reall full recap of the histoy of the culture but i think it will have to be about 12 hrs long or so.
  17. I see your thoughts have cleared. If theres only one thing im wondering is if danny will be himself or play on the more techier side to match picotto i hope its more house than tech though. As for pacha do you not think the nypd are more excited about that night then the jp army.
  18. wihtout a doubt, it seems like when sf was having problems alot of newer people discovered this party and well things changed around alot. I mean imhappy for the success rob is having with this party. But yeah i had alot of fun sun nights at cheetah when i went.
