  1. Picked it up yesterday over at satellite records, last copy they had on the shelves said all copies sold out first 2 days. Heres a sample of the tune if ya dont know it by now: http://www.juno.co.uk/ppps/products/212602-01.htm&highlight=dibiza

  3. Sadly the way things are nowadays with the industry it looks like you can no longer just be one or the other now you have to be both. Producers cant make enough money just on thier tracks for various reasons.(One reasons I believe is mainly because people steal thier music from file sharing). Djs naturally evolve into production because i think sometimes they hear tracks that thier playing and think they can do a better job or something along that lines. But what i dont understand is WHY people jump on the bandwagon of PRODUCERS who make a few good tracks thru out a yr or 2. And then suddenly get booked for a party mostly based on their production work. And then night of the party BOOM you realized damn they not so good as djs. On the other side of that coin not every dj can make a great track either. And sometimes a dj has a certain style of playing that when it comes to thier own production you cant even tell its them anymore. I guess what im saying is ive experienced and read many reviews of disspointing nights from these djs who oh wait never mind i meant PRODUCERS who got booked to play and were a dissapointment. Im sure not everyone feels this way but i just wanted to share and see what peopls opinions were.
  4. Do you want them to just bang it out a whole night or like me do you prefer a small musical journey or sometimes if your lucky a nice long musical set (8+ hrs). Cause i think any dj can play all the "BOMBS" all night long and a certain tempo to keep people moving. But i think thats what alienates and keeps alot of fans close minded when it comes to house music. Cause now all they want is boom boom boom, and some people are on drugs and well they need the faster harder stuff from begining to end just to keep up with thier own high and it becomes less about the music. But i think a great great dj can take you on a journey of musical bliss. Different styles and tempos and eras of dance music is magic, and not every dj can do that. What do you guys and gals think?
  5. Wow i use to love that song RES- THEY SAY VISION my fave mix was the Bastone n burnz mix.
  6. Been a fan of house music since 1989 when i first heard "TEARS" and have not looked back and dont plan on it either. I spend all day n night hearing house music and dancing as many hrs as i can during the week. Drug and alcohol free. Not everyone understands house music, i think that song about summons it up. Hip Hop had its great era i think from 1978-1995, now its all water down commercial garbage that is package and sold to sheep.
  7. How bout goin to WWW.BEATPORT.COM and/or WWW.DANCETRACKSDIGITAL.COM and PAY per track instead of monthly.
  8. KISS even infulences dance music as well it seems.
  9. Aint nothing sweeter than picking up the vinyl at a store and being on the train reading the notes and stuff. BEATPORT on the 30th should have it.
  10. Well all i knowis butter is still open and exit is still open, does he still own them that i dunno.
  11. Hey 9 mile the reason i quote the websites is jsut for you to see somethign in rpint other than something i wrote by myself, which might not have been taken seriously by ya. I dont hate techno and have been at several carl cox shows, and use to rock tronic treatment every once in a while. Frankois K drops some good techno in his sets as well. Love to be on the samefloor withbody as long as they dont have some stupid battiling mentality, thats not mystyle.
  12. SPIRIT is to me the best big room in nyc. SOUND,DARK, and SIZE is perfect plus its such a legenday space and depending on what era your from you will either think 27th street is the house of TWILO, or if your much older and know better will know that its the house that junior vasquez built,SOUNDFACTORY. Anyhow i know on sun they have a great party but its a gay party run by john blair i believe. I heard they were gonna start doing house again there on fri and sats but still nothing has happened.
  13. Im still not muhc of a fan of that electro blips and blops.
  14. Jeff Mills is a legendary dj (hes also playing pacha on the 29th i believe), While not a fan of techno exactly i can appreciate certain things. My only dispute is that comment i quoted you from. Pioneers of techno have been established as being from DETROIT: DERRICK MAY, KEVIN SAUNDERSON, JUAN ATKINS. Jeff mills is from the following genration after the above named djs, read it for yourself: Taken from: http://www.jahsonic.com/Techno.html So technically jeff wasnt makign techno per say while levan as you say was reworking disco tracks. Alot of inspiration dj pierre had came from RON HARDY at the MUSICBOX which opened in 1983, and also THE WAREHOUSE (1977-1982) with DJ FRANKIE KNUCKLES and later his other club THE POWER PLANT (1983-1987?) So if DERRICK MAY was inspired around 1986-1987 and Jeff mills rose around 1989-1990. Its hard to say jeff mills was creating something around the same time as LARRY LEVAN @THE PARADISE GARAGE(1977-1987). And one more bit of information about your jeff mills: BEGAN Producing in 1989 2 yrs after the garage closed, hmmm.
  15. Well as long as you stay away from places liek that that cater to bottles and models, you will always run into problems. Sorry to hear this happen to you.
  16. Eventually but im still a good 15yrs away from 40.
  17. Well this is an earlier party so why cant people do both, or maybe go to pacha afterwards as well.
  18. Now i have nothing to do with this party but i wanted to spread the word about this LEGENDARY dj and pioneer of dance/house music. The man who taught both legendary djs LARRY LEVAN (paradise garage) and FRANKIE KNUCKLES (warehouse) how to spin in the 70's at THE GALLERY. Its a pretty early party so watch a legendary dj for a few hrs in the early party of the night and then go on with the rest of your plans for the night. Musically expect some dance classics, some disco, some deep house, some funky house beats and some tech house. 21. Far from what i was talking about. Deepspell i consider a very good friend and has been doin a good job with his parties. Im rooting for him not for this party but in his career in general. Cause it seem tso be growing and going places and im happy for him. Im sorry if my statement was taken as a competion or my shit is better type of deal by some of you, BUT THATS NOT MY MENTALITY, i dont have that concept in mind. Im sorry if this offended anyone but please i didnt mean it like that now one bit. Ive had deepspell play at one of my parties a while back and look forward to doin something again soon. So i dont want people to think theres some sort of rivalry or some shit. Ive been accused many times by alot of you for being arrogant or cocky or whatever. FINE. Thats the way it comes out to some of ya maybe cause thats an automatic reaction for some people. But i far from that, i dont think as highly of myself like some of ya like to believe, which i find funny. So i apologize to YOU guys DEEPSPELL if ya felt the same way that jimk29 did. Have a great party, and if it wasnt for a previous engagement i would be there dancing to ya tunes.
  22. Good luck with the party make some serious noise down in the basement..
