  1. I fully agree. It used to be you could jump online Sunday morning and read about a great party that just happened. People would still be messed up and writing their post. Now, there's hardly ever a decent review. I suppose there are other sites or people are busy on facebook or myspace.
  2. Nice opening set mate, dropped some cool tunes I haven't heard in quite awhile. not sure about the transition into the Doors remix, but that's just me. Nice skills with the mixer too, sounded great. When are you playing next? Yoji really blew the place up. Scot rocked it out too, but Yoji just puts it out there and doesn't stop. I've been waiting ages to hear really hard music in NYC. Now we need to get Alex Kidd in town to really shake things up. Speaking of shaking, does anyone else notice how much the floor at WH bounces? It's a bit scary. I wonder how often they have the building checked for structural damage???
  3. try 5-htp when you go to bed. It's an amino acid that may help you sleep. Studies suggest it helps with the seratonin production when you are sleeping. We all like saratonin... it's what makes you high when you take E. Normally your receptors "uptake" it, but when you take E, your brain can't deal with the surge and there's a build-up...that's the high. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that's basically what happens. Back problems...kidney thing sounds legit, dehydration is a bitch. I've twitched all night off a bad hangover, so, I'm not so sure it's the E, but maybe the dehydration.
  4. http://www.discogs.com/artist/Junior+Vasquez In JR's profile on discogs it says he's 62, born in 1946. His production list is huge. Discogs is a great resource, if anyone's not familiar.
  5. Can anyone clue me in as to when individual tix , not two-day passes, will be on sale? I can't find any online...only the two-day passes. Cheers!
  6. Coxer that early you think? How late has Victor been playing? I'd be surprised if Coxer was on that early. Anyone else???
  7. cheers mate! nice set! Wish I could have been there. Victor plays such a nice set. Can't wait to hear him live again.
  8. Maybe I'm missing something??? There are two flyers, both for Sat night, but in two different cities. Are they both going to Philly and then doing a late set in AC? Or, are they going to have a video conference for us to watch??? I'm confused. I'm not sure how far the drive is. If Philly closes early, then getting to AC by 4:30 and playing til noon or more seems plausible.
  9. What was all of the delay with the main room last night? What was being filmed?
  10. What time will the main floor open and what time will Jules go on??? Cheers.
  11. never been, going sat for eddie halliwell. not sure what to expect of the club, i'm sure the crowd will be very mixed, but I'm into the music, so I'll deal. If it smells, then that's a whole other thing! LOL
  12. Nice, how long did he spin? Did he mix it up between minimal, chill kinda stuff and hard techno? I've got a live in Ibiza mp3 that keeps really minimal and it's great. Not sure how old it is though. Good to see he hit NY again. Have to catch him next time.
  13. That's interesting b/c I was told it would be on the first floor away from the main floor??? Hopefully I was mislead and you're correct. Having to go down a couple flights of stairs to get drinks would really suck. I'll be surprised if this works out in my favor.
  14. Has anyone purchased Webster Halls EZ Pass that gives front of the line status and open bar all night privileges? I'm wondering if it's not worth it. I've always steered clear of Webster Hall, so I'm not too familiar with the club. I know there a at least four floors and I'm wondering if there's like one specific bar in the farthest corner of the club away from the main floor where one has to get their drinks. Or, is this place organized and any bar will serve a guest who has purchased the EZ Pass??? Considering the track record for most NY clubs, I'm guessing the former scenario. Anyone have info??? Cheers.
  15. I had no idea Palladium looked as hot as it did! What a club!! I'm so pissed I moved to NY just before it closed and never had the chance to go. Twilo was a great club and all, but it certainly lacked in decor compared to Arena. Those must have been some great parties. thanks for the photos!
  16. For anyone interested, Sander has a short mix on Eddie Halliwell's Radio 1 show this week. It's recorded from last Sat, so it'll only be up 'til this Sat. BBC - Radio 1 - Home Look for the Listen Live link and then find Eddie's show. Also, Sander's Identity mix Dec 2006 can be found here: RapidShare: 1-Click Webhosting Hope I can make the show!
  17. Do you know if this was recorded? I'm sure I'd appreciate it much more whilst sitting in my living room as opposed to being packed into a vip section at Crobar... cause that wasn't much fun!
  18. How'd the "no waiting in lines" work out for Victor? Better than Tiesto, I hope.
  19. It was definitely a mess. We got there around midnight. The regular line was down the block and around the corner. The line for table service was 15 people wide and past the exit doors. It took over two hours to get inside even with "vip" service. Then, it took about another 20 minutes just to get us to our table. Our bottle didn't arrive until 3am...then at 4am, they pulled the bottle!!! There was nothing vip about the whole thing. It was a complete joke...so unprofessional. There was a group of about 30 people next to us in an area that had three tables. These tables were the same size as our table and we were a group of two. Even with half the amount that would have been full. This was packed. It's so typical that this would happen. Everyone in line was pissed. We all paid in advance. We all paid extra in order to avoid waiting and to have a place to sit, party and enjoy Tiesto's set. Honestly, I had a difficult time enjoying his set b/c I was so pissed when we finally got inside. It was bad enough waiting outside for two hours, but then to get inside and see the fiasco taking place... Great job Crobar!!! Really fucking nice. Get it together!
  20. I think he meant I was implying anyone not getting a table was a "cheap loser failure". And I wasn't. I was simply justifying why I would spend $360 to go out and hear Tiesto. When you break it down and throw in the service factor, occasionally it's worth the price.
  21. I don't get bottle service every time I go out and if it was more than that ($300+tip), I'd probably pass. We do this a few times a year on special occasions. Even though it costs more than a typical night out, I appreciate the service. Skipping the queue, having a seat and drinking my choice of alcohol without standing in line only to have it knocked out of my hand, or worse, taken by those guys who clean the floors or any horizontal surface on which one might set their drink...that's worth the extra money to me. It doesn't guarantee a good time and it is expensive, but sometimes it's worth it.
  22. <Disregarding your sarcasm> Actually, it was $300, plus gratuity, for a two-top. That includes express entry and money towards a bottle of choice. I haven't seen Tiesto in over 4 years and since it's New Year's (basically) I figured, "why not?". Besides, have you ever purchased a double Grey Goose at Crobar??? $24.00 last time I was there. If I can get 8 drinks out of that bottle, that's worth $192 w/o tipping. Plus, they throw in some mixers (bottled water...probably not). That's nearly $200 and I won't have to wait on line and I'll have a place to sit. I'll also have access to an additional bathroom. Not having to wait on line for what will probably be sold out seemed worth it to me. Hopefully Tiesto will play a decent show. If you don't like trance, then you probably could care less. Kinda how I feel about all the house music that gets talked about on cp. Oh well... Happy New Year's!!!
  23. I have to say that I have yet to be blown away by Junior. I've been to several birthday parties, various gigs at Exit, SF, Roxy and Spirit. Most recently I heard him at Cielo. The only time I think I really enjoyed myself was the first time I heard him at Twilo, Jan 1, 1999. That was an experience! Granted, I was pretty new to the scene back then. But really, does JR ever play it that way anymore and is the crowd ever that good? Even my friends that follow JR say that he's terribly inconsistent. Every time I hear him spin he purposely wrecks songs when he gets bored. It's like he's tired of the same repeating beat or chorus, so he simply drops a new track on top of it. When he trainwrecks...that's another story. You all know he does it...and he's not always trying out some crazy, messed up mix with backward vocals and off-beat beats. JR deserves credit for many things. He's helped create a scene in NY that's lasted over 20 years, much longer than I've been around. For those that love him, he's like a legend and I'm sure it must feel good to know you can still catch him spinning live.
