Victor I truly, truly hope your information is correct. Roger being dropped for Louie is disastrous. In no way is there a comparison. I am a fan of Roger since he started his career and some 18+ years later, still am. Longevity is key and Roger has that due to talent not money.

Hey Mask - hope all is good with you. I read your posts and yes, the bouncer that use to be out front was the wrestler guy. DJ Mike Rizzo is no longer there either. He's italian not latino. The second group of bouncers that were there about a year ago are no longer there either. They skipped out in early February - I believe. So now must be a bunch of newer guys. The management guy is not canadian - he's british. He has rough edges but actually I think he's the one with a brain over there. LOL PEACE and have a wonderful weekend. P.S. What they did was delete the portion wherein the Mask spoke about monetary payments due the DJs - namely Smokey and Rick. Yeah, they seem to have an arrangement with the precinct located in the LES.

Roger at Spirit or Anywhere = Always a winner re music. As far as the Guidos in the crowd, its really pathetic. They have no idea what they want to be. Either they're in a hip hop room trying to be black or in a real house environment with the Latinos - where they don't even know what "4 on the Floor" is. Saturday's were the best night musically - but I guess you can now tell your loss -- by low numbers.... When a venue is new - its always hot. 5 years later - Rick brought life back to a party.... Spirit was nice. Roger was great - as usual. One problem I encountered was a small piece of shit guy tried to sell me some Tina. I looked at him and told him he was disgusting. He seemed to be a bit embarrassed. I asked him why would he want to try to get someone on that shit. Totally not what I expected at Spirit. Whomever you are - if you do that stuff - look at the individuals who practically lost their lives this past weekend in Black. Stop it before it kills you.

Very true Digital X. Webster is totally out of the competition at this point. Rick was what made their space interesting cause his music was the best they've had. New track selection with candy for music lovers with superlative mixing. His persona is also delightful. He'll be making an appearance at another space in a couple of weeks. Yeah well - it may not smell in the Grand Ballroom (so many incense they light - and those smell too!) but the music and crowd in the Ballroom is dead..... Rick Corbo no longer there on Saturday's. Rick made it an actual club that could compete musically on Sats. Big mistake idiots!

I'm so not a fuckin idiot. I know the club was Disco-T..... My reference was regarding the guy who got stabbed there while out trying to enjoy himself. Just as most of us do - that's the reason we actually go out. However, violence is NOT a necessity; whether by another patron or by someone hired by the venue.

The first time I went to the Conference was in 1993...... it was great for the first few years. After last year, I've decided to spend my money elsewhere. Lots of pretentious fucks running around; getting high; trying to get laid..... QUITE SAD. It doesn't seem to be about the music anymore. Yes, its extremely unfortunate - but I don't want to go to "THE CONFERENCE" to see the same sloppy people (fans) as I do here in the City. I want to go to the Conference to meet and deal with the individuals and talent who make the real effort to make great music. It's so NOT what it was meant for -- anymore.

Of course he should sue the owners individually and any and all corporation(s) associated whether by investment, etc. It is the responsibility of the owners of said premises to be sure that NO harm is done to anyone in their space. That goes whether it is a patron to patron situation or bouncer to patron situation, etc. If a patron was given entry without proper searching to avoid such a situation then yes - the perpetrator should be arrested and charged to the full extent of the law; and the club should be named in a suit. Whether a settlement is reached is definitely up to the injured individual. If a patron is in to a club and is assaulted in the club with excessive force by a bouncer (as do many bouncers cause most of them are assholes - ahem - Webster, etc.) then again, yes - the perpetrator (bouncer), etc., etc., etc. A club owner(s) can also be held somewhat responsible if a situation spills out of their club onto the street in front. Management is definitely important. Seems to me lots of clubs are lacking proper management. A friend of mine got jumped at the last Cheetah Sunday party. No need for that. Maybe all the drugs that were used so blatantly were partially responsible. People should NOT destroy themselves with all that shit. SO NOT COOL.....
