  1. Hi - its me again..... Silver - why give out comps when its only a $5 entrance fee? That's a steal for the talent that will be performing. Business is Business baby..... I always tell you that! You'll be happy to know that I've arranged for Corbo to get the mix done. Call me to discuss same. PEACE
  2. He wasn't mentioned in the topic - if you want to be a cute smartass..... However, the notice was with mention of the guys playing new tracks. And Bashar has a really hot track - that I do not think is out yet. He did spin last week - didn't he..... The Party is called UNITY..... Its all about the DJs and true music lovers coming together and providing energy to the industry.
  3. A friend always goes to Rocco's and raves...... That's why its ten. As far as Balthazar is concerned - any restaurant that includes fruit flies with their meals is quite disgusting. Sushi Samba - Cooked Appetizers are good. I don't eat Sushi...... Tao is my number one choice - cause it is that good!
  4. Hi SomeClown - I'd agree with some of the postings. However, Balthazar would be a big NO..... Very over priced and the food sucks - including their fruit flies. QUITE DISGUSTING! 1. Tao 2. Sushi Samba 3. Nobu 4. Giorgione 5. Jewel Bako 7. Patria 8. Cafe con Leche 9. City Crab 10. Rocco's Hope you find your way to a productive and delicious meal....
  5. Hi All - It's been a little bit since I've been out. I can't wait to hear Freemer and Corbo. Hopefully, both will pull out some tracks fresh from the studio. Corbo's got some hot stuff coming out. Freemer, well I know his prior works were great. So he can't disappoint..... The other guy - Bashar - I heard a really phat ass track that he did. Hopefully, Corbo will play that as well. Hope to see you all that night. PEACE
  6. That's really, really disturbing. Tell the Community Board to have the 10th Precinct (Chelsea's Precinct) to review the drug activity in the projects on 25th beginning 9th avenue through 10th and continue on to 28th street Park. There is huge drug usage in that area on a daily basis by their very own residents regardless of time. Always been there. They've really never done anything about it. That's just a ploy to pick on the club scene once again. Victor should be able to have his party - AFTERHOURS.....
  7. Hi Nestor - Wow Carbon - you're taking me way back.... I use to go there all the time. Loved the rooftop - it was like freedom in a club.... LOL When it comes to clubs like Webster - they should learn that "SAFE" isn't always better - Musically.... I mean.
  8. It's quite sad the antics that must be put on..... Between the kiss and the tit - can't figure out which one was worse.... LOL
  9. Hi Nestor --- I knew a Nestor from Uptown when I was younger. Very cool person. Maybe not you, but Hello anyway. My answer to your question would be: The only real DJ they had walk through those doors on a Saturday is RICK..... He was the one who had the cojones to play what was real House Music. No commercial crap. People loved it! Most were very surprised and wowed - who actually came down to listen to him on a Saturday - and the best part was they came back. Until Rick is back - There will be no thumping in the Ballroom! The funny thing is - whomever is playing now is probably playing stuff Rick played two years ago. He was very atop of his game, musically bringing in the newest way, way before it hit radio....
  10. So true, So true. Webster must be losing people on Sats. Without Rick - why GO? My peeps and lots others haven't been since he hasn't been there. We'll definitely be at the UNITY party on the 19th.... CORBO all the way BABY!
  11. I'm at work - it's great..... Practically alone. Central Park looks so beautiful. WOW! I'm saving my call ins for the BEACH. Summer is only 5 months away.....
  12. Hi G - Hopefully, all the winter wonderland snow won't keep the partiers away.... I'll see ya there. Many coming out to meet up with me. I'm going with Corbo. PEACE - L
  13. Hi Mike - Happy Birthday To You! Enjoy....
  14. Hey Silverbull - good to see you again. Haven't been on the site in some time. I will definitely be at this party to represent for all the wonderfully, talented industry nightowls. Thurs. 1/29.... UNITY It Is!
  15. Sobe - I'd concur with your list, however, I must say that Roger Sanchez is missing. He is by far, one of the best djs who came out of New York. Others that would be on my list are: Lil Louie Vega, David Morales and Victor Calderone. As far as your local DJs: Boris - you gotta be kidding me.... He put me to sleep 13 years ago and still has the knack to do so. I'd place others in that category, but I can't get over the Boris thing.
  16. Rude Boy - very good thinking. I'm on my way to the store to get some Blunts. Always buy more than one. I tried to buy the box one day, but the lady in the store by my house says "no".
  17. Ok - I thought I explained the point. Read, read, read - please. The state of the industry is so not the same as it was fifteen years ago - or for that matter before the internet was developed for such widespread use. THE POINT IS: People use other people's products for their own upkeep. Such has truncated the possibilities for the economy. People use to buy vinyl which kept labels, producers, djs, record stores, nightclubs brimming with business. Now stores are shutting down, producers get their product put on the internet (mostly from demos made for prospective signing), djs download tracks onto cds instead of purchasing vinyl. Same as with Designers - that is where Prada and the like have similarities. For example, Isaac Mizrahi has implemented a line for a discount store like Target. If people are gonna rip him off - he'd rather not design. He'll make affordable items for consumers, so as to avoid fakes sold on the street. You see people in the "club world" think that the crap you hear on radio "which is what LOUIE" survives on, is the stuff that is coming from real hard working individuals from their studios and their constant study of music and programs. Hey, its easy to play music from the radio, a pre-mix cd..... It's not easy to produce....Most of you have no idea what so many young and old producers go through to appeal to the masses because of all this crap. And that is what it is - CRAP.... Maybe soon, hopefully soon, the kiddies will wake up. Another instance is, many big name rappers have decided to stop putting out albums for the same reason. Wasn't Jay Z's album on the net before it was even released? That is his creativity someone stole. Honestly, some responses make me ponder the thought of age in this forum.
  18. Thanks guys. It's refreshing that you understand my point.
  19. JAP no -- I'm a true Puerto Rican Princess baby.... As far as the world in concerned, there are many, many disturbing issues. However, we were talking about the state of the industry - Music. The industry/economy is suffering because of people who don't want to pay real money for a producer's or artist's talents. I was making the point - re bootleg cds, downloading, bootleg movies, bootleg bags. Back in the day - people went to places like Vinylmania to buy their favorite tracks. The stores made money, the producers made money, the djs were in demand. Now you got people downloading tracks that haven't even been put on vinyl off of demos for prospective signing. That is blatant thievery. Or you got some bullshit dj playing a premade mix cd instead of hauling 100 + pieces of purchased vinyl to a gig and being a REAL dj. There are so many lower-end djs in the New York industry that won't even get a shake because they don't have a name or the money to purchase the name and they have really wonderful talent. Then you got Louie.... And you wonder what's wrong with the industry..... Very sad - Very disconcerting
  20. Correction: He sells other people's dance music. He puts compilations together that make him money. He doesn't produce. He doesn't even know how to spin - correctly, that is! The industry for music and all other items (i.e., motion pictures, clothing lines, hi-end handbags) are in a disarray is because people who are theives reproduce such for their own bling bling. How many of you downloaded tracks instead of purchasing a cd single or an album at a store? Did you buy a handbag on the street as opposed to Prada? That's why the livelihood of our world sucks at this time. Not sure about you, but all my bags are real - and so are my cds! P.S. Darkbeat was hot for about two weeks!
  21. OOOh - I remember that one. "Your love is my only desire" RELIGHT MY FIRE.... Well, well.... Wow, Silverbull - your vast knowledge makes me proud.... I've done a good job. I've heard you inquired about those production tools....
  22. Don't worry Silverbull - Louie won't be in the booth.... He likes the stage. That's where he was the last time he faked the funk.... Ever notice how bewildered he looks in his pics? Yo Lou, those are headfones around your neck....
  23. LMAO - funny - funny - funny.... On Webster's site it says the 13th. It's just another way for the "FAKE DJ" to celebrate the disaster of his latest compilation. The messed up part is - he's laughing his way to the Bank.... Due to the ignorant people who actually buy his crap. Hey - Louie - can I teach you how to mix? Will you play very safe - again? I don't think I'll be going that night since Rick won't get to play his entire bangin set
