  1. If you have read the artcile is it dripping with sarcasm. They cannot do a full interview withour makes fools of the reporters, that do not know music at all . " 'A traveling pageant' Is he joking? You never can tell with the Beastie Boys. Especially after several small dogs open the show by jumping through hoops and walking on wires to carnival music. "We should make it clear that this is not a concert tour, so much as a traveling pageant," says MCA, a.k.a. Adam Yauch. "We tried to gather feedback about the kinds of things that children are into and what came back to us was a pageant, repeatedly." For the uninitiated, a pageant is a spectacular, colorful display or celebration. "It involves certain kinds of dress, certain kinds of festivities, celebrations, feasts or food. I'd like to emphasize the feasts, if I might," Yauch says. "You don't just nosh, you feast; you don't just throw on some clothes, you get dressed, and these are the differentiations." When the group eventually takes the stage, they strut, jump and flex their brand of old-school rap in bright green and yellow track suits. The pageant action presumably kicks in during one segment when they strap on powder blue 1970s-era tuxedos and musical instruments, then run through some of their 1990s material under strings of colored light. After years of touring and pushing boundaries, the group has to find motivation anywhere they can. It's not easy to stay fresh. "By watching the dog show, I get inspiration," Yauch admits. "'Cause you see them and like, they don't hold back, you know? And they know how to work the crowd. They get up there and they know when to use subtlety." "There are times when one dog will jump off the ladder and take a spill -- and that's for the team," Diamond deadpans. "You know, there's no 'I' in team. We realize when we get out there, it's a group effort, it's a team effort and we gotta leave it all on the floor, which the dogs also do." Their greatest hits Fans can look forward to hearing the group's biggest hits during their tour, which started September 10 in Denver. They're digging deep into their musical past -- and apparently, Aerosmith's as well. "We go way back," Diamond says. "We do some songs from 'Toys in the Attic,' 'Rocks,' 'Dream On.' " Yauch chimes in: " 'Destroyer' (referring to a Kiss record)." But it's not just about recycling old hits. "We also do some of our newer songs that we feel really proud of like, 'Dude Looks Like a Lady,' " Diamond says.
  2. Sorry You will not be hearing " Fight For your Right" They have only played that song 14 times ever live. It was more of a joke song, at a immature age, that caught on. I will be at the Detroit Show, I can't wait. I wanna see some reviews tommorrow

  4. Clubs to Be Named for Socialite Hilton Posted October 16 2004, 3:13 PM EDT Email story Print story ORLANDO, Fla. -- Paris Hilton knows something about nightclubs, so it makes sense the hotel heiress is the inspiration for a handful of clubs that will bear her name. Club Paris, named after "The Simple Life" star, plans to open on New Year's Eve in Orlando. Local businessman Fereidoun "Fred" Khalilian hopes to open other Club Paris nightclubs in Las Vegas, New York City, Miami Beach, London and Paris. Hilton will earn a "seven-figure" signing bonus for lending her name to the club. In return, she is contractually obligated to appear at the club at least twice a month. Hilton also helped select the interior design and is scheduled to attend the opening. "Anything she touches is big," he said. "The marketing is unbelievable." The club will have state-of-the-art DJ booths, a separate martini-and-cigar lounge and a VIP section, Khalilian said. "I think the notion of Orlando being a tourist destination makes it a good location," said Peter Lopez, Hilton's entertainment attorney. "Obviously, if there's a club there with her name on it, she's going to have an interest in seeing that it does well." http://www.southflorida.com/news/ats-ap_entertainment10oct16,0,7343703.story?coll=sfe-guide-headlines
  5. Anybody see John Stewart (of the Daily Show) on CNN's Crossfire? He ripped them, especially Tucker Carlson, a new one. They expected him to just be funny, but he really had some harsh criticism. Eventually he calls Tucker a dick. Funniest moment: STEWART: Now, this is theater. It's obvious. How old are you? CARLSON: Thirty-five. STEWART: And you wear a bow tie. CARLSON: Yes, I do. I do. STEWART: So this is... CARLSON: I know. I know. I know. You're a... STEWART: So this is theater. CARLSON: Now, let me just... CARLSON: Now, come on. STEWART: Now, listen, I'm not suggesting that you're not a smart guy, because those are not easy to tie. 7. It is already open, they just don't want you to know about it. Actually, making a Quality club takes time. Thats why so many clubs all over the country open and close within a year. A club is not a field if dreams " If you build it, they will come" . Looks at the successful clubs in Miami, Qaulity over quanity. When Dade is ready to open Nocturnal, Stryke, Edgar V, and the other residents will blow the roof off.
  8. Well I am not a fan of current hip hop, but I do give respect to the originators of the turntablists and mixing techniques perfected DJ Kool Herc and Grand master Flash. Allot of EDM would not be the same without the influence of the early Break crews, MC's, and DJ's. The show was 2/3 good and the rest was current crap. Beasties Owned

  11. http://www.vh1.com/shows/events/hip_hop_honors/2004/ Great Documentary series, you will thank me if you watch it. it is on again right now, a repeat of part two from last night with in depth interviews with Run DMC, and Beastie Boys It is so funny when DMC talsk about the first time he heard the original " WalkThis Way" and thought it was hill billy music, but he went on to repect and like it. Of course I loved the backfround info on the Beasties influence,
