  1. I saw the ads for JP vs. Junior, but haven't heard much talk about this. Is anyone on here going? I was shocked to see the tickets so cheap from the Pacha website. Is it really ending at 5am like their site says??
  2. Does anyone have any details for getting a table at Mansion? I went to their website & filled out the request, but no one got back to me. Thanks
  3. It's gonna be a good night - maybe we'll run into each other!!
  4. I went on wanttickets.com and they have a 2 bottle minimum for $165per person ($150 with a $15 surcharge for purchasing the tickets from their site). And on my space some people have a 3 bottle minimum for like $400/bottle I just want to see if there are any better deals, otherwise I'll just buy it from wanttickets.com
  5. It's only for 4 people. Are you getting a table?
  6. Why is it so difficult to get a decent table price for JP @ Pacha for Halloween? Some promoters are selling them for minimum of 350/bottle with a 2-3 bottle min!! Is this normal. The last time I went to crobar a bottle was only $250 and they didn't force you to get 2.
  7. I'm gonna get there early to beat those long lines. Will you be in costume?
  8. on wanttickets.com it says 21+. I hope they don't change it to 18. I always wondered how a club as big as Pacha get's away with having 18yr olds running around & not get into trouble serving them alcohol.
  9. I'm going to JP @ Pacha, haven't been to one of his parties sine the WMC. Anyone else going??
  10. Funny youtube link with Arnold raving with glowsticks, taken from the connan movie. YouTube - Arnold Baila
  11. Here's a link to a message board dedicated to people who are or have moved to Vegas, there also a resident real estate broker who's very nice & will help you (through e-mails) decide what areas are good Move To Las Vegas Discussion Board I was thinking about moving there and that website was very helpful, as was the real estate agent who helped me out even though she new I wasn't definitely coming. This is her personal website: LAS VEGAS NEVADA Real Estate here you can see how cheap housing is compared to the east coast
  12. Thanks. Are these places close to hotels or do you have to drive to get anywhere?
  13. Anyone have hotel info for Long Beach Island. I've never been, but heard great things about it. I found a list of hotels on-line, but I don't know which ones are closer to the busier areas and beach. Are there any good bars/clubs to check out? Thanks
  14. you shoud try craigslist.com
  15. Oh my gosh you have such a good memory, that's my story. Are you the guy who worked in the upstairs VIP area? I used to go there and get hooked up by Carlos in the VIP

  20. You say "the city" and expect everyone to know that this means Manhattan. You can get into a four-hour argument about how to get from Columbus Circle to Battery Park at 3:30 on the Friday before a long weekend, but can?t find Wisconsin on a map. Hookers and the homeless are invisible. The subway makes sense. You believe that being able to swear at people in their own language makes you multi-lingual. The most frequently used part of your car is the horn. You call an 8' x 10' plot of patchy grass a yard. You consider Westchester "upstate". You think Central Park is "nature." You see nothing odd about the speed of an auctioneer's speaking. You're paying $1,200 for a studio the size of a walk-in closet and you think it's a "steal." You've been to New Jersey twice and got hopelessly lost both times. You pay more each month to park your car than most people in the U.S. pay in rent. You go to dinner at 9 and head out to the clubs when most Americans are heading to bed. Your closet is filled with black clothes. You pay $6 without blinking for a beer that cost the bar 28 cents. You take fashion seriously. Being truly alone makes you nervous. You have 27 different menus next to your telephone. Going to Brooklyn is considered a "road trip." America west of the Hudson is still theoretical to you. You've gotten jaywalking down to an art form. Your idea of personal space is no one actually standing on your toes. $50 worth of groceries fit in one paper bag. You have a minimum of five "worst cab ride ever" stories. You don't notice sirens anymore. You live in a building with a larger population than most American towns. Your doorman is Russian, your grocer is Korean your deli man is Israeli, your building super is Italian, your laundry guy is Chinese, your favorite bartender is Irish, your favorite diner owner is Greek, the watchseller on your corner is Senegalese, your last cabbie was Pakistani, your newsstand guy is Indian and your favorite falafel guy is Egyptian. You're suspicious of strangers who are actually nice to you. You secretly envy cabbies for their driving skills. You think $7.00 to cross a bridge is a fair price. Your door has more than three locks. Your favorite movie has DeNiro in it. You consider eye contact an act of overt aggression. You run when you see a flashing "Do Not Walk" sign at the intersection. You're 35 years old and don't have a driver's license. You ride in a subway car with no air conditioning just because there are seats available. You're willing to take in strange people as roommates simply to help pay the rent. There is no North and South. It's uptown or downtown. When you're away from home, you miss "real" pizza and "real" bagels. You know the differences between all the different Ray's Pizzas. You're not in the least bit interested in going to Times Square on New Year's Eve. Your internal clock is permanently set to know when Alternate Side of the Street parking regulations are in effect. You know what a bodega is. You know how to fold the New York Times in half, vertically, so that you can read it on the subway or bus without knocking off other passenger's hats. Someone bumps into you, and you check for your wallet..... You cringe at hearing people pronounce Houston St. like the city in Texas Film crews on your block annoy you, not excite you
  21. Now I have a dilema, I visited the school in NY "NY Bartending School" charging $595 (special rate) and really liked the school and their job placement seems good. They place you in alot of the trendy clubs/bars (Bungalow 8, etc..) - they specifically said they don't place their graduates in places like applebees or Fridays, which I don't want to work at. Tomorrow I'm going to visit "Authentic Bartending" in Paramus & they're only charging $375, but after talking with the contact they said they place alot of their students in restaurant bars/service bars, applebees and small clubs. The only place in the city they deal with are Latin Quarters & The Copa. They said that most other "better" places won't take new students so you have to work your way up. *The NY school never said that. Now the dilema is job placement - is the one in NY exaggerating on the places they can get you in? If I go to the one in NJ am I destined to only do restaurant & small bar type places?
  22. I'm going to visit a bartending school in the city. I heard great things about it from friends. I hope it's good. I know I need a school since I'm clueless on drinks and how to work behind a bar, besides I don't know too many places who will train you on every drink and I would feel uncomfortable asking the customer what goes in their drink. Here's the link http://www.newyorkbartendingschool.com/indexny.php
  23. Which one did you go to? If all these schools teach the same thing, why would graudates of different schools have a hard time finding jobs, while others get jobs quickly??
