Theres not going to be a 2am closing time unless the establishment cant keep the external noise below a certain decibel level, and this only goes in residential areas. Considering more than probably 80% of NYC clubs and other nightlife establishments arent in residential areas its not going to be an issue. On top of that the remaining places are mostly bars and lounges that dont have music loud enough to be effected by the law anyway.

Jesus Christ, that would piss the crap outta me. Beside thats a very bad, bad, bad Idea. The more files, and folders you have on your desktop the slower your pc is going to run, because your system needs to process that file every time it does just about anything. Make a downloads folder and just dump it all in there.

For the Ignorant who said batteries cost $2... Its an internal rechargable battery. Not AA batteries from Rite Aid. As for the battery it depends how, and how often you use it. Just like any rechargable battery. Even $4,000 laptops need new batteries after a while. IF you use the battery until its dead (EVERY TIME) then charge it, it will last alot longer than it will if you charge it when the battery is 1/2 full all the time. Basically this helps prevent the battery from creating a "Memory" and makes it last alot longer. There is no possible way to put a number on how many time you can charge the battery. If you follow what I said above you will probably be able to charge it like 1,500 times, otherwise it could range from 400 - 1000 depending on usage, etc. So to answer your original question... NO its not true that you can only charge it 500 times, then you have to replace it.

Hotel, I couldnt really tell ya. A friend of mine works at the Chelesea(sp?) Savoy so maybe chack that out. Diner if you looking for something no so fancy but great food, Id DEFINATELY recommend 'America' its on w18th between 5th and Broadway.
