  2. The music has definatly changed. Its all this electro crap now. Its nice to get compliments when people tell me they are glad someone is spinning hard nasty beats still. The people have changed too. Its no more going out and being yourself and having a good time. its all attitude and the "models and Bottles" thing now. People listen to hip hop so that alone should show people have obviously lost thier taste in music. Hip hop isnt even music.
  3. just owndering if there are any good house clubs in Vegas. i have been told its almost all hip hop crap.
  4. i heard a lot of bad things about Miami lately. A lot of hip hop and cheesy electro. A friend told me lately when big names come they seem to tone the music down a bit. WTF. Ill never "tone it down" i bang out the music i like and keep the crowd going. Its a shame I am actually considering not going to Miami this year after Thanksgiving because Im not going out to hear shitty hip hop or electro. its just all crap if you ask me. BTW best promoter in NYC is Bradley Rose.
  5. they should consider putting house back in there and bringing in some good names. i know a year ande a half or so ago when i spun in the chapel they had hip hop in the main room. the main room ended up dead and we had the chapel busting at the seams with people dancing all over the place. i had a good time spinning there.

  9. I agree with you it doesnt' seem clubs are willing to build a great party. I think its difficult to build a long term party anymore. The NYPD and Co. also seem to ahve screwed up the whole nightlife scene. We can blame that mostly on Guiliani. I think these guys need to go out get drunk, drop a pill or do a bump of something. It seems they forgot what it was like to have fun when they were younger.
  10. Don't know why this is such a big deal. It is common practice in New Jersey that anything fun is deemed trouble and found to be made illegal or given harsh fines for almost nothing. The sad part is Belmar needs to take a good hard look at thier beach. Every weekend there are thiousands and thousands of people paying to go to the beach there. Once Belmar is made a residential town and not a summer rental town, they will lose many of those beach goers. This could have a huge impact on the budget of the town. People who live at the shore feel those who come just in the summer are invading them. They shoudl realize thier mistake was to move to a shore town that is a main attraction. If someone buys a house near the beach in Belmar and expects it to be a quiet neighborhood year round is just an idiot. I had a house in seaside one year. Someone renting the house in front had asked us if it was possible we keep it down at night because he had a kid sleeping and had to work at 4am. We just about laughed at him and one of my friends pretty much told him he was an idiot for moving 1/2 block from the beach in seaside on 4th of july week and expecting people to be quiet at 9 pm. Some people are just stupid.
  11. i just heard form soneone they WILL be renaming Studio Mansion. Honestly anything is better than what the place is named now. However, in the city right now its all about who is behind the decks. If you are bringing in the likes of calderone or tenaglia or other big names. You could just name the club SHIT and people would still come in droves.
  12. hate to say it but hip hop parties end in problems more than house parties do. Seems like someone always leaves in a meat wagon and the other in a police car. Wheter white black or anything other it seems the popular thing to do at hip hop parties is see who is the biggest thug and prove it by doing stupid things. The NAACP and ACLU have slowly lowered themselves and lose respect for what they do on a daily basis.
  13. mistake one going to a club that the girls all have extensions in thier hair. lol

  15. i havent been to SoBe in a while. i wanted to see if anything changed. What does Cameo play? is it house or hip hop.
  16. tribal electro minimal vocal progressive.
  17. Which clubs in shouth beach are totally house music right now? I havent been down there in about a year and just wondering. I see Cameo is reopened but from the looks of thier site it doesnt look like much house is there on the weekend. I really can only listen to hip hop for 3 or 4 seconds before i get annoyed that people actully consider it music. Thinking about a vacation soon to south beach but not if there arent some good house clubs with top ranked DJs.
  18. United States? I dont think most of the club world in the united states has heard of him. He is more a NY area DJ. I think Richie Santana has a wider spread of venues to his credit than JP does. (much better DJ too.) my opinion As for Pacha. Honestly I never really liked how the place was as factory, just went for other reasons. I think it is too up and down and not wide enough. I think Crobar/ Studio is much better set up for a club. They did a lot of nice work to pacha and have good talent. I just dont think the set up is very good.
  19. here is my thought ( and i DJ) when i get text messages from promoters i almost want to go to the party just to punch them in the head. Emails is one thing but just sending random text messages and running up peoples phone bills is wrong.
  20. i would say Richie Santana is coming on strong but I dont know if i would say Calderone is "catching up to" Boris and JP. Maybe in NYC but Calderone is much bigger around the world than boris and JP combined. There are a lot of good DJs out there. Its just very difficult to get a following as now most people go to see "big names".
  21. i heard someone say this year at WMC there are a lot of hip hop events going on and KTU is sponsoring events as well. is this true? just curious if the end of WMC is coming near.
  22. really shocked what people think of him. when i heard him spin it must have been an off night.
  23. You have mail. i wouldnt mind helping out i been going to super clubs for over 10 yrs in NYC and can give good insight to all of them. While super clubs are more commerical now i would still say some of the music is definatly underground as well as the atmosphere. and yes NYC does have a night club task force aimed at shutting down night clubs.
