  1. Friday, October 3rd, 2003 X'ESS Entertainment & Zentra Nightclub present: X'ESS Fridays @ Zentra featuring: Byron Stingley Former lead vocalist of the Chicago house group Ten City, Byron Stingley has been flying solo for the last couple of years releasing many excellent records through Nervous Records. He has worked with many top producers like David Morales, Zack Tomms, Mousse T, and Masters at Work on his debut solo album 'The Purist' out now on Nervous/Manifesto (in the UK). Since 'Get Up' dropped in 96 Byron has enjoyed success all over the globe as the male 'diva' enjoys a revival. Paul Johnson Born and raised in the birthplace of House Music, Paul Johnson who has over forty 12†releases (on Dust Traxx, Undaground Therapy, Cajual/Relief, Dance Mania, Riveria, Full House, Confidential, IHR, Peacefrog, and Djax) and six full-length albums (on Nite Life Collective, Relief, Moody, Peacefrog, and ACV), is one of our hometown heroes. Recording under the aliases Traxxmen with Robert Armani, Brother 2 Brother with Gant Garrard, and Yonkapin on his own making both deep disco house excursions and techno bangers, Paul is known world wide for setting and resetting the direction of House Music time and time again. Stacy Kidd Since those humble beginnings in the late 80s, Stacy Kidd has gone on to prove himself a versatile producer and DJ, with releases on such notable labels as Peacefrog, Riviera and Moody. His co-production, Thank You, with seminal New Jersey DJ Tony Humpries on the Yellorange label, wound up being licensed five times. However, like many aspiring DJs, the young Stacy Kidd wasn't an immediate success. "Here in Chicago we don't stick together that much. Most people aren't willing to help. If you're a producer on the way up in New York, people always seem to be willing to give you a leg up, but in Chicago it's the opposite. I had to go all the way to France to get some respect here at home." His break came through meeting Paul Johnson, with whom he collaborated on several releases that subsequently introduced him to the much larger European market. 2. Friday, September 26th, 2003 X'ESS Entertainment & Zentra Nightclub present: X'ESS Fridays @ Zentra Frank (8fatfat8) & Cedric (SOS) Birthday Celebration! Terry Hunter Terry Hunter, THE DJ--THE PRODUCER--THE REMIXER-- and one of the masterminds behind the UBQ Project. Deriving from the word Ubiquity which means ‘the state of being or seeming to be everywhere at the same time; omnipresent’, the name UBQ says it all. Terry began his career in the music industry as a mobile disc jockey working with some of Chicago’s top djs and promotion companies. Gaining a vast array of knowledge, technique and experience, Terry was ready to debut onto the scene with his first release. The song was a house track entitled “Madness.†8fatfat8 8fatfat8 is body music, born from the inspiration house music imparts: you can reach a deeper part of yourself by physically giving yourself over to the music that you love. 8fatfat8 is the brainchild of Opah, aka Frank Orrall. Opah has been blurring musical boundaries for 14 years since his move to the mainland from Hawaii over a decadeago and a single constant has persisted throughout Opah's musical journey: the groove. By staying true to his natural creative process, Opah has carved out a solid foundation for his music. Since settling in Chicago in 1992, Opah has been increasingly immersed in the city's rich house music underground. 8fatfat8 comes out of the live p.a.tradition. Frank uses a combination of (2) MPC3000's, samplers/sequencers and various sound modules to blend samples, synths and beats. Janel Roland The next wave of Chicago talent begins with this up and coming artist. Janel Roland is making her presence strong in the Chicago House scene and beyond with her exceptional skills as a DJ and smooth vocal styling as a singer. "With a strong ear, developing voice and steady mixing, Janel Roland is definitely a DJ to watch". Scott Sterling of URB Magazine. IN THE VIP (extended set) Cedric Combs Cedric Combs of Spetrum of Sounds has been producing parties for over a decade in Chicago now. From the Rave scene to practically every well respected Nightclub this city has to offer. He also has been Deejaying throughout that period of time as well. Come help him celebrate his Birthday and he spins an extended House set in the VIP Lounge @ Zentra Nightclub. 5. We are finally on the clubplanet.com board! So, here we go!!! Friday, September 19th, 2003 X'ESS Entertainment & Zentra Nightclub present: Paul Johnson Born and raised in the birthplace of House Music, Paul Johnson who has over forty 12†releases (on Dust Traxx, Undaground Therapy, Cajual/Relief, Dance Mania, Riveria, Full House, Confidential, IHR, Peacefrog, and Djax) and six full-length albums (on Nite Life Collective, Relief, Moody, Peacefrog, and ACV), is one of our hometown heroes. Recording under the aliases Traxxmen with Robert Armani, Brother 2 Brother with Gant Garrard, and Yonkapin on his own making both deep disco house excursions and techno bangers, Paul is known world wide for setting and resetting the direction of House Music time and time again. “Playing With a Rubber Band", “Just Whistleâ€, “Burnin’ for Your Yearnin’â€, and of course, “Get, Get Down†(which, by the way, came out on Moody, Defected, Fuel, Legato, and Rise), have all become part of our hearts, our minds, and our souls. Johnny Fiasco Unlike most of his colleagues, Johnny Fiasco's musical background lies in rock & roll. Before turning his energies to house productions and DJing, Chicago native Johnny Fiasco (whose real last name was Lopez) started his musical escapade playing the guitar. Where most house producers draw their influence from disco and funk greats, Fiasco turns to the Police, Talking Heads, Rush, and Herbie Hancock. Fiasco's first production was for Trax Records on the track called "Zig Zag." His sophomore EP was the "Progretto Fiasco" release, which unleashed him into the big time production circles. In time, Fiasco made his way to the acclaimed Chicago house label, Cajual Records, started by the legendary Cajmere. The reputation of Cajual, and his work for the label, launched Fiasco into a catalog of singles and recordings for other labels. In April of 2000, Fiasco released his first full length mix CD, Cluster, on Afterhours. Unfortunately, the man who asked Fiasco to do the album, Andy Adams (head of Afterhours), died shortly after the request, and the album was quickly turned into a tribute album to the label runner.
