Make sure to show Rush your love and support for this very special performance and let's prove that Techno is alive and well in Chicago! featuring Dj Rush DJ RUSH draws on his varied taste in music from contemporary Brazilian Jazz , and rare disco to The Beatles to take you on a tour of the deep side of reality, mind and soul through his vision of rhythmic percussive style. Rush gives recordings physical and mind puzzling energy. The 6'6" giants' open minded attitude to life is: Take me for what I am or don't take me at all.Born in Chicago (USA), he grew up on the South Side and started to party at a very young age, immediately picking up on the fever of the music. He would attend clubs like The Ringzone, Playground, The Candystore and The Music Box. Before he began playing gigs in Chicago, he started making tracks in his bedroom with his friends' sinsonic drums. In Rushs' own words, "It's always important and interesting to make music according to your feelings and experiences" which is exactly what he does with The Energy EP. He likes to play with voices and percussion (his percussion is both wicked and legendary) in his many releasesThroughout the years DJ RUSH has committed himself to the art of rhythm & drums.Born in the big city of Chicago, his music is heard throughout the world, including such famous tunes as Spitball, I Love You, and Mutha Fucking Bass.Although much of Rush's work is used for many mix compilations, some of his most famous moments have come from his live performances. In 1989 Rush had his first residency in a club called the Reactor in Chicago playing 70's disco for a crowd of 800, including 10 hour non-stop sets for party kids.He then continued to play for the famous Medusa club, Power House, Music Box, and Warehouse. Quickly becoming a central figure in Chicago's house scene, Rush's uniqueness and individuality has always been portrayed in his productions and DJing. Marco Remus Known as the “King of East," Marco Remus is one of Germany’s most well respected, cutting edge, and talented underground DJs.DJing since 1994, Marco has electrified clubber at numerous major European clubs and countless large scale outdoor events. Marco has performed at infamous Techno clubs such as Tresor, Kassel, Subground, Casino, Rose Club, Apollo, Electric Delicate, and Khanti. Marco has also performed main stage sets at Loveparade, Fantasia, Mayday, Privilege/Ibiza, Nature One, Sonde, Monde, Sterne, and Time Warp!.Marco is definitely a rising Techno star, having played all throughout the world, recently being invited to mix disc 2 of Chicago/Berlin mix compilation for DJ-Sets.com, having sold well over 20,000 copies. 7. friday, january 16th, 2004 x'ess entertainment and zentra nightclub present: X'ESS Fridays @ Zentra featuring Live Vocal Performances From: Dajae Ron Caroll Rashaan Houston and a very special guest. On the decks Farley "Jackmaster" Funk When a new style of music first cracks the pop charts, the hit is usually a deliberate crossover by an artist having little to do with the music's original pioneers. The first house single to reach the charts, however, was recorded by seminal Chicago DJ and producer, Farley Jackmaster Funk. His cover of Isaac Hayes' "Love Can't Turn Around" made the Top Ten in mid-1986 -- ironically, not in his home country but in the U.K. -- at the same time that he was one of the biggest names in Chicago house. Born in 1962, Farley began DJing while still a teenager. He first made his name in 1981, broadcasting on Chicago's WBMX-FM with Ralphi "The Razz" Rosario, Kenny "Jammin" Jason, Mickey "Mixin" Oliver and Scott "Smokin" Seals as the Hot Mix 5 -- the legendary DJ team which broke house music for a wider Chicago audience. Farley also appeared at the legendary Warehouse club (mixing alongside Frankie Knuckles) and then began a residency at the Playground (later the Candy Store) which set in stone his reputation as one of the city's top DJs. Ron Caroll Starting off his career in the early 1980’s spinning at his own dance club The Bangin’ Enterprize on the South Side of Chicago, Ron Carroll, just two years into the game, was opening for Lil’ Louis, Mike Dunn, and the legendary Ron Hardy. From his beginnings in House Music he wanted to use his experience singing in the church choir and sing Gospel lyrics over House tracks. From this desire came his early work on Clubhouse Records in collaboration with Ron Trent, Big ED, Hula & K. Fingers on tracks like “My Prayer” and “A New Day”. George Jackson George has had DJ residencies and guest spots in some of Chicago’s hottest nightclubs such as The Sidecar, Red Dog, Prop House, Detour and others. He has been a resident DJ for The Prop House, Hidden Lounge, and The Upstairs Lounge. In 2001, George’s DJ highlight sparked an unforgettable experience when he DJ’ed in Sydney, Australia. He was added to the schedule to do a 2-hour set at Tankclub (located in The Establishment Hotel). After receiving many encores during his set, it turned into a 5 hour set; and also led to a standing ovation at the end of his set. The word spread to Melbourne, Australia, and three days later, he was asked to do a set at the now defunct, Chevron Nightclub. This global dance movement can in many ways be traced to Joe Claussell, perhaps the most significant figure to arrive on the scene since the Masters at Work. As a DJ, record store owner, label executive and artist he's been intricately involved with all aspects of music, giving him a unique perspective that's allowed him to avoid the pitfalls of so many pioneers. 17. Friday, November 7th, 2003 X'ESS Entertainment & Zentra Nightclub present: X'ESS Fridays @ Zentra CD Release party for Johnny Fiasco! Aphrodisio mix v.01 Johnny Fiasco Unlike most of his colleagues, Johnny Fiasco's musical background lies in rock & roll. Before turning his energies to house productions and DJing, Chicago native Johnny Fiasco (whose real last name was Lopez) started his musical escapade playing the guitar. Where most house producers draw their influence from disco and funk greats, Fiasco turns to the Police, Talking Heads, Rush, and Herbie Hancock. Fiasco's first production was for Trax Records on the track called "Zig Zag." His sophomore EP was the "Progretto Fiasco" release, which unleashed him into the big time production circles. In time, Fiasco made his way to the acclaimed Chicago house label, Cajual Records, started by the legendary Cajmere. The reputation of Cajual, and his work for the label, launched Fiasco into a catalog of singles and recordings for other labels. In April of 2000, Fiasco released his first full length mix CD, Cluster, on Afterhours. Unfortunately, the man who asked Fiasco to do the album, Andy Adams (head of Afterhours), died shortly after the request, and the album was quickly turned into a tribute album to the label runner. Plenty of CDs to Give Away Tim Shumaker Gene Farris Gene Farris is the sinister minister of dance music's changing sounds. Farris1s global DJ track record and extensive discography of over forty productions are definitely a testament to the true Chicago house sound.
