actually, the netzine is my second job... i work on it almost daily, and spend many hours of the week to develop the netzine's efforts... one day it will be a primary source of revenue, then a secondary once we move on to bigger things - but for now, we are all in the same boat... a group of writers, photographers, readers, artists, musicians, etc just trying to spread the word... but still, mark our words - we will not leave the little guy hanging. we will never forget how we started and what it took to grow. and we will always look around for the best possible source of revenue without hurting those within our community.

all you guys are concerned about is your green printed paper... are your CP members really losing when they read a story about a party they went to? Are your members really losing when they read an interview? i have never once received one complaint from a member of your site about any parade atw postings on your boards... I actually met several friends trough this board… so this leads me to believe the moderators who have been given authority by someone else is just trying to do their job... at the end of the day, our site is not corny - hate to break that to you all... if it was, i am sure we wouldn't be working around and continually growing and developing new relationships with people... it's a shame that everything you speak about revolves around money, it sounds as if you are afraid to lose what you feel makes you important... say what you will, call it bitching, call it leaching, call it whatever you want - but never shit where you eat... and if that is not clear enough for you... sucker outside businesses such as cell phone companies, broadband providers, and other major corps to shell out ad dollars to your sell their products to your members, but don't create barriers for those within your industry to grow, it will only hurt you in the end... because if your industry fails, so does your paper thin business model of ad based sales… it does not take a genius to figure that out and by the way, i think your ignorance and petty attitude is quite ugly... you should try a new look… as for PCR – I agree, the club goer is the most important here – I hope we can work this through for them… and bbbooom – who are you calling stupid? I didn’t call anyone stupid… as a matter of fact, I don’t think anyone is stupid, just misinformed – and like I said – do you have anything to say about everyone else’s free advertising through their posts or signatures or is that just Parade ATW because we are considered competition because we have a little message board that anyone can get by downloading a script… like I said – CP better have bigger plans than a message board and member pics to differentiate themselves from future competition if they wish to continue to attract new members and keep old ones… all it takes is someone with a budget slightly bigger than yours and you are left in the archives…not the best plan is it? some bitch – and you say I am the only one winning? I also didn’t know that if some people on this board bounced over to parade atw because they liked what they seen was considered winning… shit, it’s not my fault CP banner ads on our site are not as effective as my posts on this board (they still get thousands of views, which is about the same amount of views my posts get in total)… did you ever come to think it’s not me and my posts, but something on CPs end that is leading others to stray away… I never bribed no one or forced them to come to our site, did I? i will give CP this though, you guys at least keep this thread going... says more for you than some other boards...

First, i appreciate your words danielle--- Second, Parade ATW is not trying to leach onto no one. We are our own crew, our own zine, our own everything. The people who read our netzine are the same people who go to clubs or participate on the CP board or any other boards. I have viewed this message board as a community of friends that I have posted with and met. Being part of your community leads me to believe that you support each other’s projects for the sake of bettering the ultimate picture - to spread the positive word of dance music and nightlife culture. Now, by your current findings of our ratings - would you still consider us competition? I don't think so. Sounds more like the mega mall crushing local mom and pop stores just so they can control or monopolize a greater share of the market. I could totally understand if Parade ATW was this money making machine, and we avoided paying for ads we could afford by being sneaky and posting on boards, but that is just not the case. Just because CP has writers, staff, etc does not mean it's fair or right to tell smaller businesses or groups that they can not share the good news or happenings with others who may be interested. Our netzine's brand and mission is to SHARE, PROMOTE AND CELEBRATE... and we will continue to do that with or without your support. We will also continue to support your message board community because we support the idea of a place where like-minded people can come together and meet each other. It’s a shame that you think anyone with pics and a messageboard are your competition because that does not say much about the unique values of CP... And I guess it's ok when promoters post ADS (flyers) all over your boards, or when people use their signatures to offer coupons for retail businesses, THAT'S OK I GUESS? Or is that favoritism? You be the judge of that...

Dave, I have been in this scene since i was 17. I grew up with many of these people from the days of limelight, tunnel, twilo, club kids, etc etc etc... i have contributed to the scene as a dj, a promoter, event organizer, designer, etc... now that i have a web site that is suppose to be about celebrating our wonderful culture and i look to get support in return for over a decade of contribution - you tell me you may remove the block on my addy? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? This is how the nyc scene treats those who have supported it for over a decade? If you did not work for CP would you still be as bullsih and enjoy being difficult? Remove your authority on this board and then think about what you are doing. Like I said, this is still not right.

First of all... our messageboard is no where near the size of yours... we are also not a messageboard community... yes we have pics, but once again - it is nothing like CPs... yes we do have stories and nothing for nothing - they knock the socks off of the articles CP presents... we offer lengthy interviews, informative writing - not two paragraphs of words... at the end of the day people come to CP to post and read the messageboard and maybe hang around for a few other features... people go to parade atw for the stories... this is why we are a netzine and not a messageboard community... if this is not clear, i do not know how else to make it clear... as for the trade-off in traffic, whatever - what ever happened to promoting the scene? that's how you guys started off, and i guess now that you have some cash flow and revenue - your ideals have been compromised and have changed to refelect the bottom line instead of the scene that has helped you grow... what a shame

Dave, This is not fair. We are not posting proomotions, and when we do (the few times we ran tickets give-aways) and they are moved to promotions we did not complain. When I personally spend time typing these posts myself and then submitting them, that is not SPAM nor is it a promotion. It is sharing news with others within our community. relevant news at that. It is not like I am posting sex stories on a club board. Besides, like I said - We SUPPORT CP by placing your banners into our ad rotation and will CONTINUE to do so because POLITICS are not our thing. So everyone on this board knows... PARADE ATW SUPPORTS CLUBPLANET by placing CLUBPLANET banner ads on our site... in return CLUBPLANET censors us on their site and DOES NOT SUPPORT PARADE ATW in anyway possible. Why is this so? Are we not a community that needs to help each other out or is ClubPlanet too big now to be concerned about the small guys in the NYC scene? I am highly upset with the petty bullshit that this group of people are pulling with PARADE ATW.
