After moving from New York to Miami in 1989, KEN SMITH and CAL FORTIS, owners of Crobar, fell in love with her and made her the “Mother of Crobar.†On June 4th, Miss Kitty returns to NYC for her 91st birthday celebration. The first of crobar’s three rooms will be converted into a tropical garden dripping with flowers, vines and garlands. There will be three theatrical stage performances that include digital art, “erotic theatre to house music†and a salute to Miss Kitty’s book of poetry, “A Modicum of Erodicum,†while she lies on a gigantic bed amidst towering palm trees. The live soundtrack will be provided by DJ/Producer Alain Vinet, who is the personal DJ for the owner of Cirque Du Soleil. Opening DJs are downtown favorites Astro & Glyde. The creator of this installation is Rafi Mercado, founder of H.O.M.E. an international production company specializing in entertainment events.
