A couple months ago, around the time the Rep. Convention was in town (just to give you a approx. date), I was at Spirit and one was the size of a business card for this after hours place so I went to check it out. It ended up being at this small bar/dance place. when i went in (like 10 bucks i think) there were a bunch of couches, windows were covered, the bar was on the other side of where i walked in and in the back there was a dancefloor with mirrors all around. downstairs were the bathrooms they had windows but they were a blur because of the type of glass but each of them were fully enclosed.Supposedly it took place every friday/ saturday morning but i went back later and a sign saying something about rennovations and i haven't been back since...i know a lotof this sounds like could be any number of places but i figured i'd try cause i thought it had a good vibe, it felt like people knew each other but instead people staying in their own little pack. My friends had work the next day so I was just walk no one seemed to think twice to introduce themselves, and just talk. Then introduce me to whoever they were there with since i was "new". I wish every club had more people like that.I just had a great time. Does this sound familiar to anyonee?

damn. I almost always walk alone when I go out for the night and just meet up with my friends, then walk home around 3am or later. Just by luck, I suppose, one of my friends suggested 4 of us meet up before and just all stay over at whoever's apartment is the closest afterwards. I was actually kind of stupid, b*itching that I just want to sleep in my own bed but that post was certainly a wake up call. I rather sleep on a floor or something than even think about what that girl went through. Thanks for posting that article. Party safe everyone.

I actually don't know about Avalon, but I do know that NJ licenses don't have bars to scan (they do but not eveyone has one yet) so they just look at the sticker and check the numbers to make sure it matches (the code on top, numbers stand for "brown hair" and "blue eyes" etc).

Allow me to refer to my first post, explain AGAIN in small words with no more than 3 sylablles so you understand better: "so she feels really weird about coming out with me cause of the age thing" In this case, "she" refers to my friend, not me. She has every right to be uneasy about it because it's something kind of new to her. I really couldn't care less about her age, I mean...she's my best friend! And you know what, who are you to judge someone you don't even know? You don't know a f**king thing about me. Standing against some wall all night would be a waste of time and money. As I have written before, I love to dance, plain and simple, and always have a good time when I do so (once or twice a week). Please....stop embarrassing yourself. You may want to keep assumptions to a minimum. I'm sure you think you know all (at least how it SEEMS) but I assure you...you don't. If you don't have anything mildly informative or interesting to say, please just shut the hell up already.

so. i've finally talked one of my best friends into going out to a club tonight but she hasn't really gone to a club in AGES because she has kids. i planned to take her to suede but after the crowd last night i'm not too sure (could not even move on the dance floor). the tricky thing is that she's older than i am....i'm 24 and she's...around 34 i think? (but does not look it AT ALL). so she feels really weird about coming out with me cause of the age thing. i mean, i don't look at people that closely when i'm out but maybe some people do and i don't notice, who knows? i know a bunch of places have like VERY drunk people and nothing else...so, any suggestions for tonight? i'm just looking for a chill and friendly atmosphere with good music and at least 2 people over the age of 30. i just want her to have a fun night since she doesn't get to go out much. anyone?

Hey.... I haven't been on this site for quite awhile but I actually used to check out CP on a regular basis but stopped when I ended up moving around a lot for work. I just recently moved back to NJ and don't know anything about what's decent (or even which places are still open). I went to Suede with some friends and it was fine mostly because they have a dance floor (which people actually took advantage of) and the people were nice. I just found it a bit pricey and as much as I would love to have $300 to go out, I just don't. So, could anyone share their opinions or give suggestions? REQUIREMENTS: -GOOD MUSIC (well, above average music, but that seems impossible) -GOOD VIBE (is it unheard of to have a conversation with someone other than the people they came with?) -A DANCE FLOOR WHERE PEOPLE ACTUALLY DANCE Is this really such a ridiculous request? Seems to be. If that is the case I suppose have two options: #1 I can go Suede and take advantage of their dance floor but spend less time coming online and more time working because I'm gonna need some serious $$. #2 Invest in some lights, cheap alcohol, and decent CDs. Hang lights all over my apartment, move my furniture to clear an open space then load aforementioned CDs into my stereo system (turning up the bass and volume), thus creating my own little "club". Hell, maybe I will make myself wait before going into the bathrom and card myself before drinking until the cops come and drag me away for disturbing the peace. Feel free to point and laugh but I just really like to dance. I make no apologies for that. So...please...for the sake of me and those who live around me....help?

Hey... Even though I only live a half hour from NYC, I think (because of the snow expected) I may just stay over in the city with my cousin this Tuesday night. I've never really gone out during the week, is there anything worth checking out? I was kind of hoping to go out with my cousin ot after my cousin goes to sleep. I'm just looking for a place with (above all) good music, good atmosphere and people and a bar. I'll be in Midtown, most likely, can anyone suggest any place that may be fun?

as an american, (which i am assuming you are?) london is VERY expensive. i've lived there and was lucky enough to be set up with a flat in kensington at a decent rate. definately have somewhere to live before you go, don't depend on hostels, i've heard a great deal of them are pretty icky.

There's a difference between expressing what you think is the truth and being a fucking asshole while doing it. I was slightly hurt, but then I realized...why do I care what such a man thinks? Even here I find myself pausing because the word "man" is supposed to refer to a being that has some kind of notable development in their brain which separates them from primates.
