  1. long live that funky, weirdadelic song of Rick James....
  2. Hey, great review, Bling....it was a fun night....I have to wear flatter shoes next time so my feet aren't the first to go, even at my old age
  3. It was great to finally meet Carissa, the birthday girl - thank you for this great night It was also nice to say hi to Bling and Koky again. Watching those incredibly talented DJs was a concert in itself - seeing them take over the crowd and set them into a frenzy. During what seemed like the crowd's climax, I was sitting up above the DJ booth and was watching everyone just screaming for more....nothing but the dancing and the music.... At Crobar, the DJ booth does seem a lot like an enormous alter, where the crowd worships its gods of the night....that's what it seemed like when a guy got on someone else's shoulders and started begging with his arms to raise the music higher. I thought for a second crowd-surfing had made its return, right there at Crobar....to trance, that might have been a little weird.... The early music really had me jumping....I also love those xylophone rhythms that seemed to be in both sets. I also enjoyed hearing early on, while I was on the floor with Bling, the remix of "Shout" by Tears for Fears. I also appreciate the other traces of '80s samples....without the redundancy of generic freestyle or new wave.
  4. Hey Bling....I meant to post a review of the party too...I was looking forward to it, and then our computer crashed It's a little late now....but Natasha and I had a great time. We def plan to be back down at Crobar (next time we'll have our friend Karyn along too)...and whatever other parties go on....Nat really liked the house set. I had never been to Crobar before...I was def impressed with the setup, the whole sound system. I was surprised at how crowded it got in there too.
  5. Most recently - definitely Gigli
  6. You can try some of these publications Nova Law School put on their website. http://www.nsulaw.nova.edu/career/publications.cfm
  7. Ultimate Frisbee would be cool - it's also a great game to play at the beach - anyone got disc skills (other than in the booth)?

    Expert Witnesses

Ok, Bling - here's one of the highlights from my bar review courses - this is based on the Evidence lecture - Attorney: Judge, let me tell you what Johnny knows about cocaine. He's sold cocaine all his life, it's how he makes his living - he has it with every meal...he even played with it as a kid...there was no sand in his sandbox, instead of sand, there was cocaine! Just an example of how you don't need to be an academic expert to be considered an expert in court...
  9. Thanks - you all are definitely encouraging. TheMrs - to tell you the truth...I did want to be a writer at first...but then I saw how hard it is to make a living as an artist....I used to live in NYC and I saw the turmoil all the artists go through up there to even possibly make a living with their talent. But ya know...I always did want to write a book about Fla. Maybe the law thing will end up being that "day job" you need to do art these days for a living
  10. studying for the bar exam...it's so tiring...usually I'm studying at least 10 hours/day. wish I could get out to a club but then I'd never be able to get up in the morning. The only time I have to run anymore is if I get up at 6 am to do it...then I'm studying 'till about 11 at night...same thing day in and day out. Anyway...I am praying that I pass....I'm looking forward to being able to review some more places...I could review these highly entertaining bar courses but I'll save you the excitement. I figure though that one of the next reality shows will be getting to watch people get ready for and take the bar - what could be more American than that? It's one of the best ways I can think of to watch people suffer...as we apparently love to do so much

    BBQ Time!! May 29

I can probably make it out for a few hours....I'll think of something good to bring.
  17. **chuckle** I liked this too (I tried to upload the file earlier but couldn't) - there was a hilarious picture in today's Sun Sentinel online of a crying baby Sumo contest....it was definitely one of those things that make you go "hmmmm"
  18. Someone make me laugh....I've been studying for the bar exam and all work and no play is making me a very dull girl...
  19. From my captive world of studying, Paul Oakenfold Presents now flows in....the sharp prickles of the drum riffs, the Knight Rider-like undercurrent, the showers of noise clustering around the builds, the echoing rockets, the simple keyboard theme that soars above the river of beat. Now a computerized voice theme...â€no matter what you would do...†Transition...disco-like, octave-jumping continuum. “No matter what you would do†in brief intervals. The voice urges something vague, inconcrete, intangible. More computerized, synth voices join in. A ‘80's feel comes back to me....
