  1. Here's one: Industry in the E. Village. They have a cool 2 level downstairs lounge w/ a nice soundsystem and booth. Lots of candles, booths, and an indoor garden. I've been throwing friday nite parties there, and can also rent the space out. PM me or email me at john.flawless@mac.com for details. John
  2. So long ago, couldn't even begin to remember. Was up in the U St/ Cardoza area, around 95.
  3. I think that's a great track...that riff has been stuck in my head for a while now! But it doesn't have any massive breakdowns or is particularly hard, so some folks might not appreciate it's...sublimeness (i know, not a word) I would think a DJ could build a lot off it, or keep coming in and out of it. DD obviously produced a track that can be a good DJ tool. Speaking of DD, I used to see them play in some tiny russion themed bar in DC way back when I was going to GW. And now they are GIGANTIC. funny.
  4. Not that they're known for their DJ skills anyway, but Who Da Funk had a massive trainwreck at Crobar Miami for Eric Morillo's party. It stopped the whole club from dancing, and it killed my buzz so much I had to leave the room....
  5. I totally agree...when it's especially crowded/hot in there, condensation forms on the stairs and they get really slippery. Seen many people land on their ass. Also, before the renovations, there used to be all sorts of screws and shit sticking out, esp. up on the 2nd floor catwalks. I've ripped holes in pants and gashed my leg. Tetnis shots, anyone?
  6. Flawless Fridays Weekly all summer NO COVER This Friday, 6/11 11-4am Jason Jollins (Acute Recordings, Spirit) spins in the downstairs lounge all night long 509 E. 6th St. (A/B) 212.777.5920 flawlessmedia@mac.com
  7. Great party last nite!! It was nice meeting you, and thanks for the CD's! Next time...Jaeger
  8. hey Silverbull! Heard this song last nite at Cielo (the Don't Stop the Music party) and yes, it really needed to be heard on a great system to appreceiate fully. The room loved it. Nice.
  9. Nice!! Will come by after our Don't Stop the Music party at Cielo. What time are you gonna be spinning?
  10. Lotus is definately a different club than C-fly, with a "tougher" door...that does suck they gave you probs Joe. I will def stop by to help the GBH guys celebrate 6 great years of parties...and I'm looking forward to seeing BOTH my "T" Boys...Larry and Michael. But I'm also gonna run across the street to Filter for some great tunes and cheaper drinks.
  11. I agree w/ Lasix...I go out way too much to spend that kind of money. But I feel that bottle service lends itself to being people's "big nite out" every once in a while (assuming they can't drop that kind of scratch 3-4 times a week). That's fine, but that probably means a place that centers it's business on that aspect will not be drawing MUSIC fans, they'll be drawing DRINKING fans. I don't think I've ever consumed 10 drinks in a club before. I wouldn't be able to dance! (not well, anyway...) And personally, I would feel trapped by having a table anyway. I spend most of my time on the dancefloor, or roaming the club saying hi to friends. It's when I'm in a place where ALL of the seating is reserved for bottle service that I feel the club is going overboard...just from a harm reduction standpoint, there should always be places for people to take a break and chill out from dancing.
  12. Fair enuff...I'll check the place out for myself...it is nice to have yet another new nightspot so close to my apartment.
  13. Yeah, heard it gunning to be almost entirely bottle service.
  14. Cannot wait!! Flawless will be there in full effect.
  15. Seriously, consider rescuing a dog from a shelter. Dogs from puppy farms, pet stores, or breeders, tend to be (in)bred for the extreme characteristics of breed purity, and as a result can be rather dumb and more susceptible to illness. Just my .02 I'm a cat guy.
  16. It was my first time there, so I don't know if that was a normal crowd, but damn! While the S-man was great (lot's o hits!), the sound and vibe sucked. Drunk fuckers everywhere, barely anyone was dancing (except Silverbull ), and a bad guy:girl ratio (my girl was getting groped WAY more than "normal"). This all got better around 4ish when the drunks went home (my favorite was hearing some guy find out his bottle service bill was 2400 dollars! ) Overall, I made it a fun nite and danced it out, but I'm kinda spoiled by some of the "music fan" heavy crowds I've seen lately at parties and smaller clubs. My theory is that w/ all the club closings/openings/residency shakeups, people are trying to find a new "home"...but I wouldn't have thought a place like Spirit (or a DJ like Sanchez, for that matter) would made a good replacement for clubs like SF or exit. Love to all!
  17. Silverbull- I agree. It's a real shame to see a great DJ like Morillo playing cracktackular afterhours parties (his b-day went till 7pm) that are destined to get shut down very soon. Let's face it...if you start your party @ 5am, you will be targeted by the NYPD.
  18. Saw some of the Homegrown guys this weekend (including Brian Owen)...def. a great group w/ a good ear for talent. A great nite of tunes, and free to boot!
  19. damn...really wanted to see it, but forgot to tape. Was good to hear it wasn't another of those typical scare you w/ fake holes in the brain things, or like that MTV thing w/ that fucked up guy who was giving it to his kids.

  22. Can't wait!! But can't seem to find the CP guestlist...
  23. Looks like it's Howells, then Morillo! I'm very excited. I wonder who the surprise guest is? Hopefully not p. diddy again!
