  1. pretty sure Calderone is happily married, and his wife is beautiful... Just cause you're a gay DJ, doesn't mean you're a GAY dj
  2. Also, got a number of tix for his gig at Crobar the next night to give away. Hope to see ya there!
  3. Welcome from FL! I'm from Cocoa Beach, myself. Taken from another board, this Thursday party looks good. Sullivan Room is a great venue, and I'm friends w/ Chill, one of the DJ's....should be fun. http://www.rhythmism.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18297 HIT THE BREAKS! feat. Virgin Megastore Union Square Thursday, Feb. 10th 6pm-8pm Friday night Erick returns to play another massive set at mega club Crobar! After an amazing 10 hour set Thanksgiving Weekend, Erick is back for another marathon party! Crobar NYC Friday, Feb. 11th 12am - ???
  5. Wanted to go last nite...but this florida boy was not going anywhere in that weather. Looking forward to seeing him at WMC...don't know what he's doing on Wed, but he'll also be at the Sullivan Room party on Thursday w/ Hector Romero and Behrouz at Teasers. They also are booking a whole lot of NY local talent.
  6. Yup! He'll be at Crobar Friday, Feb 11th for another kick ass, all-night set. Before that, he comes out w/ his new album, "The 2 Sides of My World" on Jan 25. It's got his debut artist album, "My World" and a 3 CD DJ mix as a bonus. NICE!
  7. Damn! I'm pissed I'm gonna be out of town for this! I keep hearing about how crazy these get. Have fun! PS- How do you know Chill Whitey? he's an old friend of Jen's.
  8. How funny. I was just listening to your "Live @ Spirit" set today! Lookin' forward to hearing the new one...
  9. I left at 5:30 and it was still going strong. Good tunes, not too crowded, danced my ass off.
  10. Here's a great one from friday...think it says it all.
  11. Incredible!! Place was packed, and out of control. The music, the vibe, everything was perfect...I haven't seen a big room get turned out like that in a long time. Morillo brought that same amazing experience I've had with him at WMC, or Ibiza, here to a city that sorely needed it. Got some great pics. WIll post soon. John PS - great seeing the mask...I looked down from behind the DJ booth and see the back of your head staring back from right up front...classic!
  12. Good point... a place like Crobar is gonna be full on a Sat. nite no matter what. By putting the S-Man on the same weekend as JJ, they probably forced some people to choose ( I know I like both...) Also agree that Strings of Life kicked ass on that system!
  13. Meh...had a nice time, but it wasn't cause the music or the crowd blew me away. It seemed JJ & KC were just playing all their tracks, from Stupidisco, E Samba and Da Hype (?) to other mainstream stuff like Flashdance. Crowd was kinda boring, too. Most of the action was in the side rooms (too bad I hate Hip Hop) BTW, thank GOD for the VIP bracelet...w/outit, the club is half the size...you couldn't even get upstairs w/ out it! All in all, loved "Trust It" but if I wanted to hear it in it's entirety, I would have stayed home and listened to it. Still love Crobar, tho...they know what they are doing... John
  14. Def up for this one! Love his production, and keep missing him in places like Ibiza or Miami... PS- Kick ass, Alex. Sorry I'll miss ya at Ikon.
  15. I remember thinking how cool I was the first time I saw one in Twilo...but I'd rather have a bar in there, like Tunnel used to have. Beer goes in, beer comes out!
  16. was there earier in the night, but they were playing hip-hop. Didn't change to house till later. But the manager bought us a bottle of vodka, so i learned to deal. Great spot tho, w/ pretty people and a nice "hidden" vibe. It's the old Giger room...looks much better now. And you can go back and forth to the main club, but it's easy to get lost.
  17. agreed...was there friday nite (threw a party early in the prop room...) and I've got to say, Crobar def. knows what they are doing. Great mix of people, professional staff, everything. I know some people aren't into the whole "bottle service" thing (me either) but I feel they cater too it w/out excluding real clubbers who just wanna dance. Music in the prob room wasn't really my type, but Ivano Bellini more than made up for it in the main room.
  18. Considering how small Cielo is, it prob will be packed. Great space, tho. Def looking forward to it. Festivus all day, then Howells at nite.
  19. Wow...it is refreshing to see a party organizer take such a proactive stand regarding the safety of its patrons. Haven't been to SundayMASS, but having lived in DC a while ago, I know they need all the good parties they can get.
  20. Yeah...saw her at Nikki Beach during the WMC this year...that girl works it. Hear she may be coming to NYC sometime in the near future. Will def. post when I find out.
  21. Nice! Should be a great way to spend a nice afternoon. Great line-up.
  22. Welcome! What kind of music / scenes / DJs you into?
