Özgür Can was born in Stockholm Sweden 1982 and grew up in a family where music was present at all times. 7. Please join the People crew & a host of other Sullivan Room regulars as we welcome 2006 with choice beats and general mayhem! We will be throwing 2006's first gathering at NYC's favorite venue, Sullivan Room, from 3:00 AM - 10:00 AM on New Year's eve, showcasing some of the local DJ talent that has turned Sullivan Room into the city's top spot for underground dance music. A bit on the evening / morning's DJs: Rob Keith & Rich Foster: These guys have been rocking it throughout '05. Rob's 3 Speaker High project with Gab Kaye turned out chart toppers this year, including "The DJ Loves Us," and he has done many top DJ gigs both at home and aboroad. Rich, of Purity UK fame, was known for many succesful parties in London at places like The Cross, Bagleys and The Glass House. Since moving to New York he's been a regular at Sullivan Room alongside Rob as well as playing at many other venues. Arana:As founder and resident DJ at the city's top Tuesday party, Wobble at Le Souk, Michael Arana has been steadily climbing NYC's musical ladder, playing his own customized edits of top genre-bending dance tracks at venues throughout the city while he prepares to unveil his own ace productions in 2006. Alex Pearce: Without a doubt one of NYC's most impressive DJs in '05, you'd be hard pressed to find a top venue in NYC Alex hasn't rocked this year - Sullivan Room, Movida, Crobar, Spirit, Avalon - with his pumpin, edgy-funky mix of dancefloor focused beats. Eric Matinez & Kenneth L: These two stormed onto the scene in '05, and have been throwing some of the best parties to go down at Sullivan Room in a long while, in addition to taking their People brand to Philly & the UK. EJC Collective: 2005 has been a busy year for DJ Connie, Elon & Justin R - the EJC Collective - as they have thrown weekly parties at Table 50 & Climax, inviting a host of local & international guests to these, and other events at venues including Sullivan Room & Movida. Elon has been busy in the sutdio and has licensed a track, "Reflections", to Brian Ffar and Dan Mnookin's forthcoming Proton Radio compilation CD, and all 3 have had the chance to travel & play gigs in cities including San Juan Puerto Rico, Miami, Vancouver, San Francisco & Los Angeles. $10 entry w/ RSVP to ericmartinezNYC@gmail.com or PM to me. Starting as a 'bedroom' producer 9 years ago, zgr Can put himself now on the international map of dance. Out out love for music he decided to make his own music which resulted in a huge amount of stunning productions and remixes that are being played and heavily supported by guys like Sasha, James Holden, Max Graham, Armin van Buuren, Anthony Pappa, Paul van Dijk and Tiesto to name just a very few. His open mind of music gives him the freedom to fit into different kind of events, whether he's warming up for Armin van Buuren on a big Armada night or being a headliner on a exclusive progressive night. With bookings all over the world and being voted as nr. 22 (!) of the world by clubcharts (one of Holland's leading dance websites), and entering this year The DJ List in the top 200, he can be called THE talent of 2004.
