Wednesday is the worst Hip-Hop night of the week in Vegas. People will tell you to go to Tangerine but the "hip-hop" main room blows there. You will be much better off going to VIVID in the Venetian with DJ Phaness from Hot 97.5. It may not be completely packed, but the music will be pretty good. The best Hip-Hop (and I assume you mean current Hip-Hop) can be experienced at OPM in the Forum Shops Friday through Sunday and club 702 on Saturday (beware 702 is off the strip and is considered pretty ghetto allowing any dress code if thats your thing).

You obviously didn't read back far enough. It was the other way around. Freeze introduced himself to this board by attacking DJ AM and then attacking all DJs who use Serato. His first post was "DJ AM STOLE HIS MIXES" or something like that. There would have never even been a negative reaction if he would have delt with his issues person to person like a man instead of having a public tantrum instead. However Freeze thrives on this. He equates drama to more views of his barely understandable messages which he believes will help promote the slowest night of the week at Tabu (Sundays his night). Then to further his moronic tantrums, he recruited none other than the hater queen, DJ Supra, who apparently does wonders for Freeze in the bedroom. I respect your comments, but I think we're talking about three things here. 1. Yes Mr. Freeze is one of the individuals involved in the early stages of the hip-hop culture. We know that. And many do respect that. 2. Just because someone has accomplished something, it doesn't give them the right to disrespect others no matter what. It's all about conveying a message with respect. If Freeze wants to act like a prick, as he has done since the first day he has been involved in this message board, then he will receive negative reactions. His version of showing us culture is to put everyone else down. 3. Freeze has clearly demonstrated that he is a complete utter moron no matter how well he breaks and dances. It is almost painful to try to read his messages and I often wonder if he graduated third grade.

Nobody on this message board has been attacking DJs for using final scratch or Serato EXCEPT Mr. Freeze of the Rock Steady Crew (and he isn't even a DJ himself). The rest of us "in the know" already realize that the software does not "cheat" as Mr. Freeze puts it; all it does is eliminate the need to handle and switch individual records.

By the way, it's a bit ironic that you say kind words about OPM on Napkinnights whenever you shoot photos there But it also explains one of the reasons you may judge DJMW the way you do. You shoot photos at OPM before 2am and you probably never experience the artistic portion of their night. You get to see the warmup when they play the bigger radio hits. Anyway don't be a hater. You have done a lot of good work in this town. Some people look at things differently than you. It's not worth getting bent out of shape because people don't include the original culture in the current version of a scene. I also often wonder why you don't share your opinion about Serato whenever Freeze DISRESPECTS every DJ who uses it. YOU yourself are now learning to use it. I'm actually not looking to start drama at your work. I'm just curious who you are since you ANONYMOUSLY bash another in the industry, something that is quite unprofessional in my opinion. We can argue all day about djing and music selection, etc., however you claim to be part of the industry so it would be nice if you would stand behind your opinion like a professional, not an anonymous coward. I personally am a nobody in the local industry. I just support people with whom I am close and the scene that I personally enjoy.

I've been saying all along its pointless to insult djs because they don't play old school or use vinyl. Risque is in trouble. I believe they are starting a brazilian promotion or something like that ON SATURDAYS starting this week. Looked like a last straw attempt to stay in business and I haven't seen any industry hype about that except a few of their paid ads.

So I saw a few Tabu employees at the Beach last night for the Jeezy concert (what a total mess by the way). Anyway they said your spot closed early last night and it was the slowest Sunday they have ever experienced at Tabu. Congratulations for gaining all that support. It doesn't make someone an asshole to support another club's promotion. You should try that sometime, supporting the people around you, and while you're at it, don't make up numbers about tips too. OK I think we are making progress here. All I'm trying to say is that in Las Vegas, pop culture drives our nightlife. If your only beef is based on a semantic term then I think we can coexist without tearing each other's eyes out. Let's just remember, the argument is over a TERM.
