Letting Go

Letting Go

To let go does not mean to stop caring,

it means I can't do it for someone else.

To let go is not to cut myself off,

it's the realization I can't control another.

To let go is not to enable.

but to allow learning from natural consequences.

To let go is to admit powerlessness,

which means the outcome is not in my hands.

To let go is not to try to change or blame another,

It's to make the most of myself.

To let go is not to care for,

but to care about.

To let go is not to fix,

but to be supportive.

To let go is not to judge,

but to allow another to be a human being.

To let go is not to be in the middle arranging all the outcomes,

but to allow others to affect their destinies.

To let go is not to be protective,

it's to permit another to face reality.

To let go is not to nag, scold, or argue,

but to search out my own shortcomings and correct them.

To let go is not to adjust everything to my desires,

but to take each day as it comes, and cherish myself in it.

To let go is not to criticize and regulate anybody,

but to try to become what I dream I can be.

To let go is not to regret the past,

but to grow and live for the future.

To let go is to fear less,

and to love more.

Why can't I let go?

Letting go requires a lot of currage. Especially when it can be related to failure. One needs to make sure that you seperate letting go from failing and that's the hardest part. Letting go does not mean failure, it means moving on. The best thing to do is keep active, be with friends and continue to have fun. Look up and look in front/ahead of you. Your friends will help you keep you looking ahead. Being alone, you'll tend to look behind and ponder about letting go... so stay connected with your friends, that's what their there for...

i sympathize totally..

i've been there and i know its the hardest thing in the world. Being miserable with someone knowing damn well you'd also be miserable without them.

i guess you just gotta weigh everything out and figure out what it is that YOU want to do. :(

letting go is even harder when we realize that after all of the time you have spent with someone, you meant something completely different to them, then they meant to you. Letting go is hard when you have created this little world with just this person. Letting go is even harded when you dont have all of those people to help you move on, because they've been showing you the truth for months.
