Recommended Posts

(mugz does the snoopy

dance in place)

I GOTTA JOB

I GOTTA JOB

I GOTTAAA JOOOB!!!

so I took a long shot and sent my resume

Overseas..just kinda dreaming that

someone might want to hire an old

school animation director...

I gave up and after my

final plan to just move back and

try working as a gondola rower

(or something) until i find

something better in my field..

I get this e-mail a couple days ago..

as it turns out they are are looking

for senior animators for the

graphics Dept at "CINECITTA"

(the studio where Federico

Fellini use to make his films)

so i use a calling card and call today

and i have an interview next friday!

(but they said I was what they where looking

for and if I don't go in as an "animator" i go

in as an assistant for starters!)

ssswwweeeet!

They still make movies there,

in fact "Gangs of NY" was just shot

there..

man oh man..

Isn't life funny..

I'm down..

and then I'm up!

and to top it all off I

met someone that works

for Virgin air that's really

really sweet..and has similar dates

on flying out to Rome..we are suppose

to meet up near the Pantheon the

day after I arrive..she loves

good music and is really chill!

(no high maintenance crap

this time)

ahhhhh life is

full of surprises..

who knows..

maybe by this

time next year Rocco

will be a huge Italian doggie

star!

"Rocco spaghetti"

(Hey I like that!)

cool what's it called?

i usualy hang out at a place called

Kentum Bar (it's the Italin version

of Buddah Bar..Djs & food) It's in Testachio

next to the Goa..(Which I hear a friend of

mine is starting a tech-house night at)

And expander..

it aint easy in Europe..

It's hard all over but the

economy aint hurting as bad

as here in my field..

Plus It helps to know

people. A person

that teaches art at my old school

OSR (in Rome) that helped me get into SVA in

NY does some work with CINECITTA.

She was the one that tipped my mother

back home on the opening and got

me the fax#..

(There's no such thing as luck..)

Glowgirl:

It's on..

keep it updated here and I'll check

my PMs after I get to Italia..

CAN'T FUCKING WAIT TO GET

OUT OF HERE!!

(though I will miss many of

you)

take care~

Hi mugwup ---

Ok... here's the 4-1-1..... go to Strastevere ..... it's has sort of the soho/village feel of Rome.

Wait, stop.... how funny is this! On my desk is my postcard from there still lol ... Ok. If this area is called Trastevere ..... on the main road, just as you start walking to the most famous church in that area called Basilica di Santa Maria in Trastevere is a cafe, indoor and outdoor, (inside had wood panelling, stairs several floors down to go the bathroom)... just get the pasta --- the pasta and sauce is ABSOULTELY incredible and decent price. Now, this cafe is right on the main street of Rome, about three blocks from the church. It's NOT the cafe in front of the church..... And oh, if you start walking ot the church and pass a music store, you'lll walked too far.

Also, no joke, the Hard Rock Rome cafe upon the Via Vento --- if you get a graving for american food restaurant, it's the same price as here, maybe a bit cheaper ... hamburger, fries, and onion soup (well, yeah that's french) lol all veryyyy good and decent priced.

Was in Rome recently. Definitely miss it.

Take care. Email if you got questions.
