joke. Everyone I know that's been to Vegas says it's only really good for the casinos. There's maybe one decent club in town, and it's in a fucking hotel. I've been to those, and they're generally horrid.

But back to the subject at hand, what I think is happening over there at Space with this is that some promoter managed to convince the powers that be that their night would be profitable. My real question remains, is the hip-hop audience going to go, considering most are swallowed up by Level, the various little clubs on Washington, and the back room at Maze?

Lets face it ... for the hip-hop crowd ... this is a new venue ... with 24 hour liquor license ...

Remember the good old days with Shadow ... and the rest of Sobe clubs? ... what happened when Space first opened? ... a place where you can party without looking at your watch ... your body will tell you when to leave

I guess it will depend how many "shots" your body can handle (no pun intended) :D :D :D:hat:

Thanks for the Vegas info- oh well-

On the space front... i agree that Friday nights it will be difficult to draw the hip hop crowd there. We all know how it is on Sat night- 2 totally diff. clubs (the small front him hip hop room that only goes til 7,) and the rest of the club that chills out till close. I think that says it all about who comes there and what they listen to.

yes they will, and yes Space can Conner the hip-hop market. however it will depend on the level experience the promoter has. I'm assuming LP is using an outside promoter; or at least I hope he is. ;) if you have ever spoken to a hip-hop promoter , they have a very structured way they promote their events. a great deal of it is grassroots.. if they can get the backing of say a WEDR ; which if I'm not mistaken, is in the top 5 in the south florida market. then they will have a foundation to build on. also the quality of the dj's they bring, will weight heavily in their success as well.

Ya all's gonna make me loose ma mind...up in hea, up in hea!...or up in Space. Anyway, the fact is that Space doesn't open on Friday nights, it's closed, unless we have a BIG DJ or event. This is a hip hop party for the Urban community. Cause my brothers and sisters gotta have some Space too.

For Spacy is my placy,

LP:afro:

you people don't seem to remember that space used to be hiphop on fridays for a while, and one of the dj's from Power 96 was the dj. it didn't work out, didn't make any money after the first month or so.

the hip hop crowd is not strong for afterhours, so again, why go to crack town when you can go to opium, level, etc. for hip hop. that is if u actually want to hear it...

space 34 has nothing special to offer for hip hoppers. i would rather keep them out of that building all together, cause they will overflow into saturdays as well and bring the quality of the whoel crowd down.

vote no to hip hop at space!

i told you people so....

this summer, there will be a record setting number of venues converting to hip-hop nights.

the only thing that will save electronic music are live acts....

all you local dance DJs that plan on staying gainfully employed in Miami start stocking up on rap, hip-hop, reggae, and r-n-b because you're in for a serious dry spell.

Live acts indeed and there are quite a few good ones at the moment making their way into the US.

Hybrid - Will tour for new album

Greyarea - on west coast tour and will tour the east in the fall

Infusion - Tonight at Nerve

Adam Freeland Sound System - Coming soon.

Tom Middleton's band - coming soon after the album

I agree live acts are gonna be the future. :) Be there at nerve tonight to see it for yourself.

Alot of 20 dollar an hour Ho's and alot of Eminem looking dudes. No one I know goes to Space on Fridays, just clean up and deoderize the air to kill the smell.

PS > If I want to hear 2pac I will put the CD in my car, doesnt mean I want to hear it in a club, unless that club has topless chicks spinning on a pole.

The niggers are coming! The niggers are coming!:eek::eek:

Shadowz, get a grip! How many hip hop heads have you ever seen on the patio after their room closes, or even while it's OPEN? It's like kryptonite to most of them so don't even worry about it.

LMAO @ this thread! Sobeton :"crowd that threatens to destroy the moral fabric of Space"..... LOL!!!

LMAO @ LP.....you better DO the dayum thang, man!!! I'ma brang Pookie, Mookie, Ray Ray, Shea Shea, Tyronn, and Laquan!!! :D

Good luck with it (though afterhours in the hip hop scene involves pussy and breakfast most of the time)....and hire some BIG dudes to break up the fights on that BIG-ASS dance floor, for real!

HOLLA!

ONE!
