euphoricgirl
What do you do for your abs? Anything @ home? or @ the gym? I have not gone to the gym in 2-3 years . LoL...Is there anything to buy for the house? I dont want to waste my time at the gym
Mystify
I do basic crunches, bicycle movement, leg lifts, etc - I don't use any equipment, usually do it every night before bed.....No matter what kind of fancy equipment you use, bottom line is this - unless you do cardio and eat healthy, your abs will never even show - it's all about losing body fat overall to have a nice stomach..... I dont want to waste my time at the gym I work my abs strictly at home....EVERY NIGHT before bed I do 300 crunches & 200 leg raises......Abs are a pain to keep up though cause if you slack the definition & tone goes away so fast

Yes, I know.....But you can have the flattest tummy & not have any definition at all.....What I SHOULD have wrote is it's a combination of both exercise & diet....my bad
wideskies
well ya know, you could save yourself some time and do weighted crunches, 12 reps times 3 sets, to build visible ab muscle.

LoL...Is there anything to buy for the house? I dont want to waste my time at the gym Don't buy anything. Just do a variety of abdominal exercises 2-3 times per week. 3 exerecises, 2-3 sets each, 15-25 reps and you're done with a workout. Consistency and variation is the key. Make sure that your diet is ABSOLUTELY in check, too. Eating grilled chicken, fish, and steak is a plus, as well as a lot of fruits and veggies. Stay on a low-carb diet and you should see progress quickly. Good luck

Mystify
Originally posted by euphoricgirl why not? I used to use a few of them at the gym that worked. It's not a matter of the machines "not working" but because you are using resistance with machines, they can only build muscle in that area....they will not and cannot "make your stomach flatter or smaller" - they simply harden the muscles down there.....the ONLY way you will have a flatter or smaller stomach is by reducing your OVERALL body fat (cut back on calories and/or burn calories).....Many people use the machines because they think it's some kind of easy way to target the abs, and while they do "target" the muslces down there, they won't work miracles. What seems to be good to be true, probably is. tommyarmani
Training abs is a waste of time. If your fat, you wont have abs no matter how many abdominal exericises are done. Lower your bodyfat & the abs will show.Enjoy a hot dog & a shake............
