Similarities?? Maybe.. u figure it out...

Here's the Space 34 version of the story plaigarized & taken from

http://www.disco-disco.com/clubs/studio54.html

The original script is from the Studio 54 link, but I made some adjustments... Enjoy...

Many people had been interested in turning the old warehouse downtown into a nightclub. But it wasn't until Louis Puig saw the place & something really happened. He loved the place at once and only a week after he first saw it he bought it off the landlord (a local homeless guy who's dog had died & figured the place was too big for just one occupant. So Louis signed the paper napkin contract & the building was His...

Louis had been working in the nightclub business before he managed to hit it off big time with "Space 34". he had also been in the restaurant business for a long time and he currently owned a club in the Grove, called the 609 (now called Life).

In 609 Louis had a very talented DJ playing, a guy who is the pioneer DJ - Roland (also goes by the name Roly). Roland or Roly (whatever his name is) started playing at Louis' club in 1990-someting and about two weeks before they opened up Space 34 they hired Roly as one of the new clubs two resident DJ's. The other resident DJ was a guy called Edgar V or was it Oscar G??

For the Premier night of the Space 34 the guys hired this guy and party promoter named Biz Martinez to invite the "right" people for the grand opening. Biz got the job as the new club PR guru... Time went closer and closer to the opening night, some 500 Million-thousand invitations went out and people were working day and night to get the place ready in time, not to mention fumigating the place against rats (those pesky lil' fockers). Then sometime in April (I don't know I forgot & don't wanna burn the few braincells left to try & figure this shit out) the club opened - THE day was there. People were still working in the club when some of the invited clubplaneteers started gathering outside the club. And about half an hour late the club opened up it's doors for the first time. There wasn't many cpers entering at this "early" hour, but within a couple of hours the place was crowded and outside the doors it was chaos. Even people with invitations couldn't get in!

Oscar G & Roland were 2 of the DJs playing this opening night and the first song Oscar played was "Dark Beat" by some guys who called themselves Murk.. Ivano was also the DJ playing the afterhours and Roly played the Lunar Sessions and Fridays. Oscar couldn't play the afterhours outside becuase he complained it was too hot. Since Oscar owned the most popular song in town - "Dark Beat" and was playing it there on Saturdays, it became the biggest song in the world, even on Power 96. It was also Roly who played the night of the famous Biz Martinez birthday bash in October 2002, in which Biz rode into the club on a white horse led by a naked body-painted playboy model (the one with the really BIG tits).

Roly also had so many memories from the old club Space that it would take a whole book to tell it all, but when he played the famous Birthday bash for Biz it was probably his most precious memory. That night was really a blast, he told me. He also told me a little about the owner of Space 34, Louis...

Anyway, catch the real story, here...

The Studio 54 story in a nutshell..
