Fuck Pvd

Recommended Posts

I'd have to pay $75.55 (or more) to goto Spirit?

$42. Central Park (mandatory)

$8.55 Service Charge

$25. Spirit "afterparty bullshit"

$ ? another service charge

FUCK PVD.

Each and every time I've seen him it's been getting worse and worse.

Last time I voved never to see him at Roxy again, now this.

How about the time before that in November where no tickets were at the door.

Seriously. Fuck this.

You LOST a fan.

I don't think that you need to buy the Central Park ticket in order to get into Spirit later, just to get the ticket for $25. You can probably go to Spirit only and see him, but it might be $35 instead of $25.

i see what your saying, but then again they might not sell any at the door like they did at Roxy. YOu cant predict what these people are doing now.

Yeah, I don't know if they'll be selling tix at the door or not. The best bet would be to call and find out on the day of the event. If you really need to spend $75 to see him @ Cen. Park/Spirt, then I agree that it's a f'n rip off.

You forgot to factor in booze, some food before you go to Spirit, parking, a few $5 bottles of water, and last but not least, a few happy pills and/or jars.

If you went to a concert venue to see your favorite band you would easilly pay 75-100 dollars for a good seat.

Buy the ticket at the door beat the surcharge! I did last year and got in faster than people with presold tickets

$20 to go see ritchie hawtin...............

I respect promoter's like tronic treatment...... they know they can milk us to go see him but they dont.

I can get comps for this event but im going to pay my $20 because it is money well spent.

For spirit i will most likely get my comps & use them cause this is utter bullshit.

I hear you Mike, the price is bullshit, but I hold Mike Bindra responsible and not PVD, who is getting a set salary for the night and MadeEvents is charging the outrageous prices...

It upsets me b/c I don't think PVD is nearly as greedy as this makes him look.

$75 is a rip anyway you look at it. In the July in the UK, you can see all this (including PVD) for about $80. Now what's wrong with this picture?

to all of you that say "fuck me".....

your cock-suckers. no really, you are. because

They'll keep raising the price as long as your willing to pay it.

It's business.

I however, will not tolerate the bullshit it any longer.

oh and if this was a "band concert" they would add more dates.

PVD is a DJ, not a concert.

Does anyone not see the amazing rip off here?

It is almost like a pyramid scheme.

Made events is VERY VERY VERY shady.

Mike Bindra is one of THE sneakiest people in NYC clubbing history.

Its definately a rip off... but the talent doesnt set the prices for ANYTHING. Not even his/her own CDs, so saying "fuck PVD" because his label, manager, and the event promoters are screwing you over is just plain stupid.

I am on the fence........I remember when we used to lower the price of admission at SF in 97' when I promoted there on John Blair night.

$10 from 1-3 ahhh good old days.

In defense of all......

PVD is an EXPERIENCE! Not a concert in the regular respect but an equally enjoyable experience and anyone that is working in this industry should be very happy that this genre is being given the opportunity to perform in venues such as Central Park. Which used to be reserved for only live bands and the DJs were filler. (just from my personal experience as a volunteer at summerstage for 4 seasons, ps thank you to all the volunteers from CP that also helped :D )

This is a MADE EVENT....last year it was in conjunction with Summerstage and it was the same price. This year Made is taking on the respondsibility of producing the whole event with no financial help from CPSS. This is no small feat. Poster snipes, promotional flyers, the talent, equipment rentals, venue rentals, etc...

It adds up.....and $2 off of every ticket is being donated to ROCK THE VOTE a organization that myself, PVD, Made, and many others are proud to be involved with. So I don't think anyone needs to dispute the charitable donation this event is raising or come down on the fact that a portion of ticket is going to a great org.

It's a party....go or don't go. That is your choice. Complain don't complain but don't make it out to be anyone fault but your own for deciding not to go. Go to Central Park, have fun, hang with friends, dance your ass off it's a beautiful experience. Infact below are some video clips from last year.

Blaming PVD is not cool he busts his ass more than any DJ I know.....and now he is doing this tour to bring awareness to his fans that while you are partying remember you have rights...use them....vote....and these parties can continue.

I think saying FUCK PVD is tacky and shows very little understanding for the reality of throwing a quality event.

$2 is 4.76% of the central park price (before service charges..3.95% after).

it is less than 1/4 of the service charge.

thats not exactly what i would call "charity".

Any way you look at it, $75 is too much for any party. But those of you who are PVD crazy, maybe it's for you. Maybe with less ppl at the venue, you'll have a better time. Who knows. Going to central park to hear PvD spin is definitely an experience. I was actually thinking of going until I heard the price. It's not worth it for me. It might be for you.
