I'm sorry but I must disagree with Billie

Here is the non-racial club review.

If you want to party with only white people follow Billie's advice.

If, however you aren't afraid of MIXED crowds, the REAL hot spots are in order of actual popularity...

Wednesday: Tangerine 800+ ppl

Thursday: Ra 2000+ ppl

Friday: OPM 1000+ ppl, Body English 800+ ppl

Saturday: Ice 1000+ ppl, Body English 1000+ ppl, OPM 1000+ ppl, Vibe 800+ ppl, Tangerine 800+ ppl

Sunday: OPM 1000+ ppl, Body English 500+ ppl, Light 500+ ppl

-------

read the club review and see what suits your taste. The hot spots this week are the same as last week and will be the same next week.

Body English

Tangerine

Ice

Tabu

Light

Just don't tell me you guys want to go to Rain.

If I wasn't such a nice guy I'd be offended. I am asian so don't mistake me for white bread and only wanting to party with white folks. My reviews are based on the vibe and overall ambience of a spot. But bear in mind that my review of the clubs is just that "my review" we all have different tastes.

Wednesday: Tangerine 800+ ppl

Thursday: Ra 2000+ ppl

Friday: OPM 1000+ ppl, Body English 800+ ppl

Saturday: Ice 1000+ ppl, Body English 1000+ ppl, OPM 1000+ ppl, Vibe 800+ ppl, Tangerine 800+ ppl

Sunday: OPM 1000+ ppl, Body English 500+ ppl, Light 500+ ppl

You can pack all the people you want into a spot but it still doesn't make it a party. If the vibe and ambience isn't there then I'll pass.

D:Fuse said it best...

"It's not about the quantity of people, it's about the quality of people"

I think that is the most moronic statement of all time.

If someone asks me what club is HOT, the only way I can REASONABLY QUANTIFY the answer without prejudice is to name the clubs and nights that bring the MOST amount of people. Or at the very least the most amount of people per square foot.

If you put down a HUGE night that SELLS OUT and then refuse to call it hot, well then there's a deeper issue - and as per the other conversation - the only difference in this thread are the nights that cater to the URBAN HIP-HOP crowd.

So my recommendations and opinions stand.

If you want to party with only white people that don't wear baggy jeans, feel free to adhere to Billy's list.

On the other hand if you want to party with the MOST people, including those that are not all white, some of whom wear jeans that aren't tight, then feel free to follow my list.

Sorry I didn't get over myself ;)

By the way, I write this with a smile too - humor included.

Man are we at it again? In no way did I imply or say that. I, as a personal choice, prefer not to go to urban parties. Lower quality?? Please.

I think most people here will speak on my behalf and say I am the last guy anybody will peg as a racist. I am a 5'7" imigrant from asia so please.

It all boils down to personal preference like I said. I wont go to a country bar because of the cowboys and country music. Am a saying that the people there are Lower Quality, no, I simply don't like that crap. Just like the vibe at an urban club. I don't like it.

If you think that's the most moronic statement then I have to wonder about you. Who wants to go to a party with a 1000 ppl that aren't friendly, or are just off in their own world? I would rather be at a party with 50 people that is cool and chill with everybody.

The majority here, so far as I've seen want the clubs like Body English, Tangerine and so on. If anyoen came here and requested straight hip-hop or reggae I woudl recommend the appropriate clubs, which I have before.

If you disagree so much with my recommendations please feel free to speak up. This is a public board and everyone is entitled to their opinion...rememeber that is is just an opinion. My opinions are my own and are never forced upon anyone else.

Well I've been to several nightclubs in Vegas, for many many years and I have never gone to a party with 1000+ people who just sucked. I think any club that has a strong enough following to attract 1000 people aged 21+ must be doing something right and deserves to be recognized. And I plan to share my opinions as you have shared yours.

And club nights that you do not acknowledge, all of whom have huge mixed crowd followings are...

Ra Thursdays.

OPM Fri-Sun

Vibe Saturdays.

And even Pub in the Club Monte Carlo Sat nights.

Juice Sunday HOB was huge but its gone now.

Especially anybody from Boston, NY, Philly, Chicago, LA or other huge cities will love these spots just as much if not more than Body English and Tangerine.

Hey Billy I do have a question though. When people ask you to get on invitation lists, do you make a commission?

Outofthebox - while some of your posts do make sense, they generally don't apply to the people who browse this board. In case you haven't noticed, the clubplanet messageboard caters to those into the house music and dance scene. Want proof? Take a look at the advertisements, party promotions and reviews, and the music section. I've seen 1 post in the 10 months I've been posting on the Vegas messageboard where someone asks for a club with only hip hop and absolutely no house music. You know why? B/c people generally don't come to Vegas to party in places where A) you don't feel safe B) a metal detector is needed and c) the dress code allows Jersey's, bandanna's, & jean's down around you ankles. The people who come to this board look for upscale places where a dress code is required and they feel priveledged to be in. BillLe does a great job w/ his reccomendations and servicing the people who are in contact w/ him, because week after week all I hear on this board is praise for the amazing time his customers had. I personally haven't met him yet, but would reccomend the same clubs he does based on the music, crowd, and vibe of the establishments.

I'm really not sure what your point is posting on here, but It seems like you've come to this relatively peaceful board only to start shit that began on Napkin Nights. This isn't the same crowd and people on here have different interests. Do us all a favor and post your garbage somewhere else!

DanSwat:

Your post (and billie's reaction) are both UNBELIEVABLY closed minded.

#1 Your characterization of hip-hop clubs in Vegas demonstrates your complete lack of knowledge of what REALLY happens at those spots. There is not ONE hip-hop club in Vegas that allows the dress code you mention - NONE of them need metal detectors - and people DO come to Vegas for that scene or the clubs that cater to them wouldn't be so packed with "low quality" people as others have implied. It ABSOLUTELY AMAZES ME that people like YOU are SO offended by my posts that you would characterize the scene as if only people from Riker's Island support clubs that don't feauture house music - HOW DARE YOU! Even Billie's beloved ICE just converted to 100 percent hip-hop on Fridays to cash in on that market of horrible thugs and murderers.

#2 If ClubPlanet only existed for house music followers then they wouldn't sell ads to clubs that also promote hip-hop.

#3 Last I heard you weren't elected as spokesperson for the people here so don't act like your views represents everybody's views.

#4 If opening people's minds to clubs that don't just attract "young white professionals" is "GARBAGE" to you then you sir should move over to a private discussion where people will only agree with you so you don't have to deal with other views.

Comment regarding Ice and their Fridays, Their attempt to make it work on Fridays for Hip-Hop has failed. I drive by there on Fridays and they have half the crowd as they do on Sat. I hear they are going to swith to an all house in the mainroom format.

I think you're getting a bit out of hand and a bit over zealous here in your quest to promote or pump up the clubs in which you have a stake (ie, your boyfriend dj's at OPM). If you have a problem with what I recommend then say so and move on. You're honestly preaching to the choir here. Most of the folsk here are house music fans and if they were to go to a hip hop club I gurantee you that 9 out of 10 will go for spots like Body English, Tangerine and so on. In all reality OPM is not that great of a club. There are plenty of other clubs, which have the so called "young white professional" that I don't recommend either because of the club itself and the vibe. So get over it being a black white issue. It's an issue of where I want to be, and what people that ask me for a recommendation want to be.

Till now no one has ever had a problem with any of my recommendations. Till you, a newbie who has never posted. Why? Because I knocked a coupel clubs that I didn't like, not only that knocked a club that your boyfriend dj's at. My review was made well before your bf started djing there, and I did make a note of changes at OPM. But I personally would still not go there.

Billie, I couldn't give a ratt's ass if you and your snobby friends go to OPM. And I didn't even comment on your review of that place. So get over it. I'm not here to promote one nightclub.

And as far as ICE Fridays half as busy as Saturdays (according to your scientific parking lot study - I assume you count taxi drop offs too), what's your point? What club in Vegas is not busier on Saturdays than Fridays anyway. Well actually that's not 100 percent true because for that matter I guess RA demonstrates the opposite argument since it brings more people on Thursday than the cumulative total of people on ALL the other nights its open and RA is KNOWN for its previous support of house, techno and trance.

It's so sad that you categorize my valid arguments as some overzealous promotional reaction to your racially motivated review of clubs that attract black people.

You really are that full of yourself, huh?

I guess I just don't understand what you're point is really. I mean you take offense to my recommendations because I don't recommend a few spots?? Spots such as Vibe or OPM?? Don't say I never recommend Ra because I do. Maybe not the particular night you like but I do. I recommned the clubs that there's a good buzz for. Ra on these boards or witht he folks I know doesn't have that great of a buzz for Thursdays. Maybe that just means within the circle I go clubbing with don't go, which means I probably wouldn't go. Which means I wouldn't recommend it.

I'd beg to differ on the snobby comment. Anyone who has met me or actually knows I am no snob. I just have a preference in spots where I want to go and who I want to chill with.

damn, get it through your head. It's not about racism. It's about partying where you feel comfortable. You're telling me that me, as an asian is a racist, if I go into a cowboy bar with people wearing cowboy hats and chaps and felt uncomfortable?? That's not racist it's just a fact of life. I wouldn't feel uncomfortable because the would be mainly white people, I;d feel comfortable because I knew I was out of place and stuck out like a sore thumb.

It's funny cause I worked with a large african american group recently and even they labeled VIBE and OPM as ghetto. They wanted to go to a spot where the crowd was mixed. Hence they ended up at Tangerine on Fri and Ra on Sat.

If it makes you feel any better I am asian and I hate going to asian parties. I hate the vibe that has too. So go ahead and call me a racist. It's all about the vibe of a spot.
