That's the one thing that annoys me about Crobar. If you had a dance vibe like Shelter parties or even the old Vinyl, that place would be top of my list. silverbull Posted November 28 Report Share Posted November 28 big room sound all night..i was actually very disappointed that he didnt' mix it up more... whoever said morillo brought his ibiza game to crobar last night is nuts... his ibiza sound is nothing like that.. its much housier, and quite frankly, much better... i actually heard a few songs i'd just plain categorize as noyze...HMMM so i didnt miss much then. HOUSEY MORILLO was my hero since 1992 dont know who this guy is for the last yr. Which is why ive been hesitant to hear him again,been very dissapointing to me lately FOR MY TASTE.And if you think the erick youve been hearing for the past yr is the erick thats been around since the early 90s then you are wrong. oldtimer Posted November 28 Report Share Posted November 28 2 words.... siiiiiiiii iiiick.. nah it was a pretty good time though... i walked in and morillo was playing funky electroey type house with antoine clamaran styled buildups... as a huge trance fan i really appreciate the buildups..towards the end of the night he started playing some harder shit and the place was definitely feeling it... that nancy sinatra song was HOT!! as was the nirvana track... cheesey but good.. all in all i was very impressed by morillo... he had a lot of energy up there.. kinda like donald glaude and judge jules... except he didnt jump down from the stage and punch out some fan who was heckling his gf... ahh well maybe next time..i wouldnt mind it if he got a residency somewhere aside from disco.... i cant stay out as late anymore... once 5-6 rolls around, im done.. my age is catching up with me i guess... ill be 23 in 2 weeks... ahhh the good ole days when i can stay out late.. That why I am reluctant to attend these big venues. Too much hype. Sure its good for a few but not the whole night.I am not saying that you have to have one genre all night, sure there has to be a balance but what we have to talk about is don't come to nyc playing the garbage that you think what nyc wants to hear. Play the stuff that you usally spin and train the ears OF US STATE SIDE CLUBBERS. DON'T COMPROMISE AND LEAVE US BEHIND.........There are a few things involved. #1-It's not where you usually spin but rather where you are at- NYC! #2-If MORE of these so called State side resident djs other then a few visionary ones would learn to establish themselves and not be so damn scared to travel (not necessarily spin overseas) but explore and become more exposed, maybe they can bring back some of that good stuff back. #If ktu AND miami's 93.1 would give a hint of some of the house tracks being played overseas, we would not have so many cats standing around not knowing any of the track selections being played..........I have been to both Roger and Junior Jack- I can tell you that its not a matter of taste but a matter of exposure.......i tell you what, being from ny and making the move to miami, there is definitely more house going on here.............I don't know why it is yet but I will find out.. We got there around 11ish…tried to leave at 5 but that didn’t happen. Just as we were getting our coats we ran into my friend’s bf & his friends who decided to make a cameo…which was cool b/c it gave me an excuse to stay longer. Morillo had me moving! Never heard a dj comment so much…which reminds me it was nice to see DT mingling with the crowd. Great to see everyone out. Enjoyed spending time with my new friend DJUFO. Thanks sweetie you’re the best! Overall a great night. BTW did anyone see that asian kid hanging from the speaker? This is like the 6th time I have heard him play, and defiently one of the best. I don't think much can top his set at Deko Lounge last June before he left Ibiza for the summer, but this one was great. I danced till my fuckin body just wouldn't move anymore, by that time it was 5am and I stayed until 9. What a great night!!!!! I am Beat Up today, but it was well worth it. Glad to hear that Erick is making an impact on new people, I always hear people saying that this DJ and that DJ are the best ever, compaired to Morillo they SUX!!!!! He can CONTROL a Crowd better than anybody, and he has more fun in the booth than most people on the floor. dragon0401 Posted November 30 Report Share Posted November 30 this is my lil review of the night ok so i get there around 12:30 the place you couldnt really walk throught it since it was so damm packed i was trying to find little spots on the side to dance and found a couple,the music part at times i was getting really pissed because it seemed to me that he was comming down every other track but i wont deny that he got better later onwich i was hoping for and that made me stay,but at one point i was dancing on the side where all the doors are with my homegirl milena and one of the "directors" from crobar was hating on me and said take it to the dance floor i told him it was two packed and that i was gonna wait till later on but the a hole was still hating on me that fat shit i didnt pay any mind and kept dancing i dont give a fuck that "your section just spent 15 thousand dollars " i also waited online and payed money to get in so i wasnt having that shit big FUCK YOU goes out to that douge bag! to that guy.i t was great dancing with ibrandon,kitty,kimeee,chas,mask,my homegirl milena who destroyed the floor with the ill moves and everyone else who i met there and danced with over all it was a great night he absolutely blew that fucking system i love the crobar system with those crazy tribal beats. i give this a 8 out of 10 wow arg . that sux .. sorry man .. hope u wil have more fun in other nights .. i really thought u were ok buddy .. oh well Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
