Bloomberg just reported the Braves acquired Hudson for 3 players....story to follow....possibly Juan Cruz, Dan Meyer & Charles Thomas

just when you think the Braves are out, lol. The front end of their rotation looks tough with Hudson, Hampton, Smoltz, maybe Horatio Ramirez. Although, they did give up a lot for a possible one-year rental. I think Charles Thomas is legit.

Bahahahahahahahahaha...the Red Sox rotation has officially turned to shit!

wait your laughing and one of the top three pitchers just got shipped tp you division. Have fun facing him 4 times next year. You should concentrate on your mets and not worry about the World Champion Boston Red Sox.

Once again the World Champion Boston Red Sox.

OAKLAND, Calif. -- Tim Hudson was traded from the Oakland Athletics to Atlanta, a major deal Thursday that further bolstered the Braves' revamped rotation.

With Los Angeles, Boston and the New York Yankees rumored to be pursuing Hudson, the Braves swooped in and got the Oakland ace for outfielder Charles Thomas and pitchers Juan Cruz and Dan Meyer.

It was Atlanta's second big trade in a week. Last Saturday, the Braves acquired All-Star closer Dan Kolb from Milwaukee -- a move that allowed them to move John Smoltz back into the rotation.

"One of our goals going into the offseason was to strengthen our pitching staff," Braves general manager John Schuerholz said. "We have certainly made a major improvement."

Hudson joins a team that has won 13 straight division titles.

The 29-year-old Hudson posted 81 wins from 2000-04, tied for the most in the AL over that span. He is 92-39 with a 3.30 ERA lifetime.

Hudson was 12-6 with a 3.53 ERA in 27 starts this season. He made the All-Star team for the second time but did not pitch because of a strained left side that put him on the disabled list for a month.

Thomas made his major-league debut last season and batted .288 with seven homers and 31 RBI. Cruz was 6-2 with a 2.75 ERA in 50 relief outings. Meyer was 0-0 in two games with Braves after going 9-6 with a 2.49 ERA at Double-A Greenville and Triple-A Richmond.

Even when the Mets win they lose :funny:

My team isn't expected to contend next season...let him do his thing for the Braves next year...Braves don't have the resources to sign him to an extension.

Now if the Mets have some sense they should go after JD Drew and keep him away from them.

the World Champion Boston Red Sox...enjoy it cause they you're shaped up - it's one and done! :hat:

My team isn't expected to contend next season...

"isn't expected to contend.." where's the logic in that statement ? with this projected starting lineup? :

1. Pedro Martinez

2.Tom Glavine

3.Steve Trachsel

4.Kris Benson

5.Victor Zambrano

get real...you are just playing the numbers buddy..you hope to have a better season then last season...and if you happen to win the whole thing....you will definitely say the METS are the shit !! The mets are loaded to the gills for a championship run. All that with an inexperienced Manager in Randolph. Accept your goodwill signings with grace.

easy there killa..."the mets are loaded to the gills for a championship run"...how about they were 25 games under 500 last year so I wouldn't say signing Pedro is going to make them a favorite for the WS
