Don't know if this was talked about before but I was reading an article on Jay-Z and how he used so many other artist's lyrics in his own songs. Just curious as to who feels he may have gone overboard to the point where you can maybe call him a "biter" or do you go by what he said when he wrote,

so do I but they probably give Jay-Z's song more play these days...not all the younger kids are as down as you and I are, so they might not know. Either way, it was a huge vs in his song which most people would consider a hit for him (again speaking in general...even though to me it's more commercial of a song)

plus often he does actually give credit listing the original artist...

Unlike basketball you cannot plagerize a move but you can with words..

IMO he's always been and always will be a COPYCAT writer

Exactly, I think it's more of him paying respect to the rappers that paved the way for him to be where he is today. He's only using a few lines here and there, not whole songs.
