the worst bond ever

oh my fuckin god was daniel craig terrible

he absolutely lacks the suave sophistication and the charme that is (should be) synonymous with 007. seriously, i could nothing but laugh at his "interactions" with the women (and men for that matter) in this movie

i will leave you with the following actual conversation snippet that had me almost leave the theater

bond: "wodka martini"

waiter: "shaken or stirred"

bond: "do i look like i give a damn"

NO YOU CERTAINLY DO NOT LOOK LIKE YOU GIVE A DAMN YOU POOR EXCUSE OF A MAN

what the fuck, that guy was so antibond, and the script was just as horrible... i´m spent...

Overall I enjoyed the film, as it was quite a significant departure from the normal Bond flick. Daniel Craig proved to be a good modern version of Bond, however he definitely lacked charisma and was often crude like Tastey previously mentioned. For example, the fact that he felt no remorse over Caterina Murino’s torture and death was very unbelievable. What was his lack of compassion supposed to express? I believe the director and writers were trying to imply that not only is he a great agent for being completely unattached, but also “cool” and a “bad ass”. If so, this definitely failed in persuading me.

And while change is usually good, I thought certain elements were more than just being “modernized”, but damn right commercial. The extensive use of cell phones, the Range Rover, and Texas Holdem definitely annoyed me. For fuck sakes, he might as well have taken a pilates class and purchased a caramel Frappuccino

However, the best example of this was the excessive free running scene. I was waiting for the Senegalese rap to blast, a chicken to come out to help chase the African guy, and finally when it’s all over, the large Nike swoosh popping up on the screen.

Once again, in general I enjoyed the film. While he is definitely not in the same class as Connery or Moore, Daniel Craig still had a strong performance. I look forward to seeing him in the future films, as long as they don’t stray too far away from the classic Bond model.

but u must not forget its his origin and very faithful to the book..

soo enough he'll be requesting his drinks "shaken not stirred"

ill reserve judgement until i see it..

but anything will be better than that last clusterfuck of a bond movie called die another day

When you find out that your "screen name" only plays a minor part in this film, are you going to pm DaVe to change it again?

The last bond film - 1/2 a BILLION worldwide, most ever for a Bond.

So what do they do? The FCK with the formula to keep it "fresh and new".

me - no.

The last Bond flick made 1/2 a bill? Hard to believe, because it pretty much sucked. I've lost interest in the Bond films the last few films. I enjoyed Goldeneye though it sure didn't "wow" me, but of the 2 or 3 films which came after, I can only remember the title to one and the plots to neither of them. In fact, Except for Die Another Day, which again I don't even remember, I don't think I cared to see any others. When I heard about this film being made it bothered me that they were remaking a Bond film that had already been made, with a new actor so different from prior Bonds. But when I started seeing the previews they showed promise to I became willing to go see it with an open mind.

Now that I have seen it, I have one thing to say, by way of quoting the new actor..."The name is Bond, James Bond." ...Indeed you are, Mr. Craig, indeed you are.

Great movie, IMHO. Two thumbs up.

I went into this film willing to accept Daniel Craig as James Bond. I wasn't sure if I would "like" him as Bond, but I was willing to accept him as Bond. Not like, but accept. With that said, in the beginning of the film I thought, "no, I was wrong to think he could be Bond. I came in with an open mind, but he is not Bond in my heart". But as the film progressed and we saw the evolution of character, saw how and why Bond became the person we know him as from the prior films (which actually came later than this story, chronologically, as many know), along with the pace of the film the character, and the actor, was growing into James Bond as we know him. I found myself believing in him more and more as Bond. By the end I accepted that Daniel Craig was James Bond. But more so, the character himself had accepted who he was. But I was not yet fully 100% convinced. Not until the very last line of the film was spoken, did I not only fully accept, but believe, that he was Bond. And no, not because of what he said, "The name is Bond, James Bond," but because of everything that had led up to that point in the story, and in the character, and because of exactly how he said it. Again, not because of what he said when he said his name, but because of how he said it. I have to watch it again to be sure that what I perceived is accurate, but just as Ewan McGregor did such a good Alec Guiness in Star Wars 2 and 3, likewise when Craig delivered his last line, I saw and heard Sean Connery. Maybe it was my imagination. Maybe others noticed it too. Either way, without a shadow of a doubt in my mind, his announcing of his name at the end, which seemed more of a declaration than an introduction, a declaration of acceptance of who he was, was absolutely the perfect way to end the film.

I definately look forward to seeing this again.

I don't think any other Bond film had the intensity and amount of spilled blood that the fight scenes in Casino had. I never considered the fight scenes in prior Bonds to be violent. Action packed, sure, but not violent per se. But the fight scenes in Casino, particularly on the staircase in the hotel, were the fastest, most energized, and bloodiest of any fight scenes in any prior Bond, IMO.

And btw, I laughed out loud when Bond got that injection and uttered the one line he had never uttered before, and I never expected to ever hear him say, "Ouch!"

And in the torture scene. OMFG. I had a feeling it would involve the pain in which the guy inflicted on him, prior to seeing the film, based on reviews saying it would make guys cringe. But expecting the scene to involve the torture method that it did, still would not faze me because there have been similar pains depicted in many films already. But yet, I did cringe. I did "feel" his agony. Not "feel", but believe. The acting was that good. Craig brought real human horror and emotion to that scene. Never expected to see Bond weep from his pain and practically beg for mercy, but that was a level of human drama that this portrayal had that was never before seen in any prior Bond or Bond film. It added realism, and reality, to the conflict. In light of that, the remark he passed during that scene was LOL funny. I didn't even catch the whole thing that he said, only the last part which was enough to know what he meant and LOL over it. Hard to believe he had the balls to say what he did, no pun intended.
