pretty much can't go wrong with sona. just like the factory, we showed up at in the morning and stayed to like 11 and the place was still pumping. montreal is off the hook. planning a trip maybe sometime in late july

montreal is definitely a great place to party.... i'm going to be there this weekend!

montreal has the widest range in climate of any city in the world. in the winter it is so cold that everyone sticks to one bar or stays at home and watches hockey. during the summer the city comes to life - there are festivals for EVERYTHING, jazz, comedy, rock, etc. the jazz festival is the best and it kicks off july 4 weekend (www.montrealjazzfest.com). it is cool because they close down a large part of the city for free outdoor concerts, and you can walk around, drink lots of wine, meet chill people and hear great music. i've gone every year for the past 5 years....

in terms of clubs, sona is your best bet. last thursday they had pvd and max graham, just as an example.

your best bet for finding stuff to do is picking up a copy of the Mirror and the Hour, which are both available free pretty much at any public place in the city.

the casino is also fun and its open all night, so you can go there to kick off a good night of clubbin, or to cool down afterwards.

also the big draw about montreal is eating out - very culturally diverse, a lot of really cool "trendy" areas like St. Laurent and Crescent, and a cool place to walk around on Prince Arthur or Prince Albert, whatever its called.

and don't forget the best part - the really good exchange rate!

whatever you do, have fun!!!!!

peaz,

rob

can't tell you any hotels to stay @ (because i have the cheapest place - my mom's house!). but i can warn you to BOOK NOW if you want to stay b/w june 28 and july 8, because that is when the jazz festival will be on. i know someone who didn't heed that advice and ended up sleeping in his car, parked in the garage of the casino.

as far as personal supplies go, take your essentials with you, you can always buy stuff there. it'll all be the same, except it will have french AND english labels.

Bangin!!!! is all you have to say about that place. I was there for New Years this year (my b-day) and let me tell you.....

Spent Dec.30 and 31 at Sona, that place is a MUST and I've heard that Stereo is pretty money as well. For bars, Crescent St. is very fun...A friend pissed on the bar in Winston Churchil's, that should give you an idea of the amount of fun we had. Too many restaurants to list...I stayed in the Mariott Chateau Champlain, it ended up being like $80/night american around New Years and is probably the same now. Oh yeah, lots of ladies out as well....they get crazy up there... cwm12.gif ........I think it's the fresh air. So have a blast when you go, I am def. going back. Cheers ~T

For a good cheap hotel look at the Comfort Inn on Crescent Street. It is dead in the middle of everything plus the bars and lounges on crescent are great. Its a good place to start out the night then head down ST. Catherine street for afterhours at Stereo or Sona. Everythings cheap and you get your taxes back when you leave.

I was there last week end. Didn't go clubbing, so can't comment on that. But women are extremely hot. Especially if you like french. Very attractive. I haven't seen so many people out in the streets in any city yet. And prices are very cheap.

On St Catherines street past the fountatin there are two hotels. One is called Voyager and the other is right next to it. They are both like 20 dollars a night american. Cant go wrong with that.

U must hit Sona. It is great. Churchills is pretty money also.
