soldado
When I got out of the Marines I think it only took me like 2 or 3 weeks to actually get a job. How bad is the Job market really in NYC? Computer Techy area
phuturephunk
. . . keep in mind that you were a member of the armed forces, and employers like that cause it shows that you have discipline to see something in yourlife through . . . AND that you can actively discipline yourself to manage your time properly . . .. . . I find that today's market is OK . . if you know where to look, and you have the right connections . . . and a little luck . . . . . . The most important thing to keep in mind is employers now, more than in the last couple of years, are looking for concrete experience . . . I, for one, know I can trump people with degree's who are going for the same jobs . . . all cause I can tell the employer "seen it, fixed it, not a problem . . " . . where as a fresh grad can say "Well, I studied it in school . . " . . .

shugabooga
go to www.monster.com and www.headhunter.net and do a search in nyc in your field......maybe submit your resume online & see what happens. you might get an interview this way - then you can come to nyc and write off the cost of the trip on your tax return.good luck! bluewater
ill agree - the tech market blows right now but is slowly getting better. i graduated last may - worked til september, and have been unable to find a job since. There is way more comeptition now that there are some few jobs popping up too, cuz all those that got laid offf and have more expiereince then us recent college grads have the upper hand.It Blows - bigtime, trust me. You just have to keep handing out resuems and calling companies every day (like waht im doing) and just hope for the best...Fucking Recession...Lou
