Hey SaintJohn, Good review and I feel ya on the leaving the camera behind and not being allowed to use it. after two time of going there and speaking with the managers, I said F*&K it, and never went back with my camera. I enjoyed Ft Lauderdale , but Voodoo was the one place I never had a good time at. Dance Floor sucks, DJ booth was all wrong, and the staff was not up to par. I stopped going there.

Not really sure how much they are playing it. The Album is due out in June. The first single " Ch-Check It Out " was released yesterday April 28th to radio and video on MTV. I have seen and and heard both, and theyshowed up on MTV the other night also. It is very old skool beats and rhymes. The video is a lot like "Sabotage" if you are familiar with it. very corny with the boys themselves playing multiple parts. Im loving it. ;D

To answer the original question, " Is Frankie Bones Popular in SoBe?'. I would have to say NO, People have heard his name but most could not tell you what genre he plays or anything else about him. He is more legendary and a inlfuencer than anything.

Congrats Coach, it is the energy that you bring to the scene that is the best part. you can learn the other things be the passion for the EDM scene you cannot teach. I have always liked the actual club no matter what its name is. It is an uphill battle, but you have to start somewhere. Good Luck

I blame MTV and the top 40 radio stations. Most non EDM educated people see EDM as wierd and strange stuff. I just moved back to Ohio and the EDM scene is small here. People follow the masses and friends. It is not a safe bet for a club owner to open a pure EMD club since it will have a tough time drawing a crowd and making money. the MTV crowd only knows that type of music. I was at a club last night here in Ohio and the place was packed but the mian room had hip hop till around 12:30 and then the DJ started playing commercialized older EDM like Kernkraft 400 and Satisfaction, and the crowd was having a blast. In the smaller room there was some decent house music, but it wasn't a dance floor, more of a smoking lounge, since there is a Anti smkoing ban here. Just people follwing the masses. It is cooler to be into hip hop in mainstream culture. It is the total oppisite in Europe.

The Beastie Boys blend politics with party time on "To the 5 Boroughs," the New York-based rap trio's first album since 1998's "Hello Nasty." The 15-track set is due this summer via Capitol, to be preceded by album-opening first single "Ch-Check It Out." The group is expected to tour in support of the release and has already confirmed Aug. 7-8 appearances at Japan's Summer Sonic Festival. "To the 5 Boroughs" is loaded with political commentary as expected, including calls to vote President Bush out of office and critiques of U.S. foreign policy. On "Time To Build," Adam Yauch (MCA) raps, "We've got a president we didn't elect / the Kyoto treaty he decided to neglect / and still the U.S. just wants to flex."
