  1. thats a great picture of people's backs and blad spots haha you should have taken POD and I along for the trip ;D
  2. I hope your joking. The only sound that people go to in Miami is house and the ocassional Trance night with the big trance acts such as Tiesto, PVD, and the favorite local Edgar. All the other genres get pushed to the wayside and no respect. Unfortunetly, the last 3 or 4 times I have seen Stryke play there was no more than 30 people there. I just wish Techno and Breaks would get more respect.
  3. Breaks 40% House 15% Old Skool Rap 15% Rock 15% Techno 10% Trance 5%
  4. Didn't know what to expect and like it has been mentioned the cover charge threw me for a loop. But I want to Say thanks to Joe for the comp and the hospitality. The place was packed a very mixed crowd. I had friends from out of town with me, and they didn't care for the vibe and commotion downstairs but we hung out for a while to listen to Markus. He was on point with his style of music and most were digging it. He had the place jumping and fist pumpin and going crazy, but it was tough for me to get into it. Maybe because it was a Monday or because it is not my cup of tea, like others say. It was then time for the SOTU crew to take over upstairs and, I was excited. These guys never seize to amaze me, and I loved the vibe they create. It seemed like most of the hot women were making there way upstairs, for the Intelligent Sounds. Joey and Obby tore it up. I will take two cups of SOTU tea. ;D Good seeing and hangin with everyone. If you have never experienced these guys, you are missing out. :-[ I am editing the pictures right now and they will be up in the galleries ASAP.
  5. hey, its looks like you just found your new Detroit Photograpgher ;D and general help. I am actually moving back up to the area next week. I will not be living in Detroit, so I will still not be out every weekend but for sure will be more than happy to continue shooting up there and helping spread the word about CJ Detriot. nick, POD, and Tech, I guiess we need to discuss some more details. I will also keep my ears open for interested writers. Hey Ramon, I will try and showcase some Motor City talent.
  6. OMFG!! Here is a topic I can go on for hours about. The Beasties are by far my favorite artists of all time and have shaped the scene and my influence from the old skool rap to the instrumental beats they are remarkable at. I have seen them 3 times live and will be there front row and center when they tour again. ;D The are just finishing up production on their long awaited new album. The are perfectionists when it comes to releasing new stuff like to always be ground breaking and pushing the envelope. One reason the new album has taken so long is they use a lot of samples, especially on Paul’s Boutique. Now in this day and age of sampling they have to get permission from ever artists to use the sample, but most the time you can’t even tell what it is after the Besties work there magic with it and turn it inside out put their signature style to it. They said on a full album they use around 250-300 samples. The new album is set to come out in June. Also for anyone that is over the pond. The BB are supposed to be headlining the Reading festival this summer. Friday 27th - Sunday 29th August 2004 Check www.readingfestival.com for more info.

    velvet rope

this article is telling people where to go if they want to listen to shitty music with fake people. The "slumming types" sound better to me. the only party that I would give a thumbs up to is Back door Bambi.
  8. I wish the show was at a outside venue, it just makes more sense for Jimmy. I saw him back in 98, it was tons o fun.
  9. Live in Hollywood or Ft Lauderdale, better jobs and you can party everywhere. The best thing is to live near your work and try to live East not out in the everglades. Driving on I95 blows.
  10. I liked General Clark also. He seemed the most honest to me, if that is possible with politicians. :-/
  11. Artemis, If you need any pictures of this event, please let me know. Hopefully I can make it out to this shindig. ;D .
  12. for those who haven't seen yet. Here are the pictures from POD and I. www.ebsound.com/dump/web4
  13. The Land of Fliptonia will never be the same.  Much Respect and Thanks to Flip and Toni for throwing this mad shin dig.  The DJ’s were outstanding once again and the talent that in undiscovered could be top DJ’s in most cities.  For everyone else that put all there hard work into the BBQ like CrazyC, Koky, Leo on the grill,  Obby for the DJ’s, Nexus with the extra lighting, and all others that brought the equipment,  you guys deserve a hand..  The bounce house was a great idea, but I am sure the owners of it were a little confused when they came to take it down and saw all adults. ??? There was so many new people and the nametags came in handy.  Th amount of alcohol and other things that was consumed would put most clubs to shame. I had fun just relaxing and chillin to beats that make me move and taking pictures. The link to the pictures will be posted once POD and I get them edited and uploaded.  My favorite DJ sets go to Jimmy T, Obby, and Mr. Miami. You 3 need to do a party together at a club.  PS:  Did Edgar Know there was a BBQ going on outside?
  14. I am home from work and the next thing I have to do this wekend is the BBQ. ;D IT IS TIME TO THROW DOWN! I can't wait. POD and I can battle with the camera and catch people unxpected while eating big chicken legs and doing other crazy shit while drunk. I look forward to meeting all the new people, and listening to some of the best music ever. I will be there around 3 or so, See you all in the Land of Fliptonia.
  15. There goes the neighborhood.
  16. I will make sure to turn my camera off at that point
  17. Just to let you know, some of the Hip hop and RnB places can get pretty shady and ghetto fabulous. I don't mind the music, just the clientel it attracts usually. Stick to the higher class places that have a House room and Hip hop room and you should be good. Prive, Space, Crobar Also Bed, Mynt on certain nights, just may be tough to get in with all dudes.
  18. I didn't go last night but, Tips for Voodoo to get better. Get rid of the that stage thing or make it smaller. Move the DJ booth to the back of the stage area. Get a new sound system. Keep the meat heads out
  19. If you go swimming in a pool, I will for sure take many pictures  You make just get kicked out of a neighbors pool though. on second thought, keep the clothes on Bling. ;D

  21. What no hip hop in Miami? ??? Hip Hop has infested SoBe. Try Crobar (Main Room) On Thursdays Prive Sundays, Space Terrace Sat Just make friends with POD and he will take you to all the best places. ;D
  22. WoooooHooooo. Nick, Put togther a link a article on the home page that tells people where to Vote for cooljunkie or a link to the voting. We need to get Miami behind cooljunkie.
