  1. Satoshi Tommiiee is amazing. See you there! sorry for the MIA'ness lately guys....i've been all over the place, to say the least- anyone going to this event on fri? last time i saw satoshi was at Nerve then Pacha in ibiza---both times he blew the roof off.
  2. Are we still talking about Van Helsing here?
  3. yeah....im here in Chicago doin some biz, and i'm staying at the Allegro Hotel and I must say this place is great- What a fun hotel....definitely where i think where all Cooljunkies should stay when stopping by. So this place is awesome! clearly an entity here around the loop--- wireless internet in every room, CD music stereo, flat screen TV, music in the shower (i mean, really) Queen or King bed with nice view of the Chicago skykine...."honor bar" in the room (i think ive managed to open the M & M's a tiny bit so I can get them out yet no one can notice the bag has been infiltrated)...and a fun bar downstairs full of international people who all want to fuck...right from start i knew i was in the right place. 8) , this is definitely a great place for young people like ourselves to accomodate when visiting the midwest next stop, Sheboygan...whoaaaa
  4. I was mirroring some this type of sentiment on the subway this morning on my way to work...we seem to have a duality in this country that is kind of a paradox---- we are resented for our power and actions yet we are held responsible for so many events and things that go on in the world--- Sometimes I wonder what would happen if we completely isolated ourselves...became dependent only on ourselves and made do without the things we require from the rest of the world....design electric cars so we dont need oil....and so on. One thing I would miss is far east spices and luxuries like that....but we'd surely be able to improvise--as Americans one thing we always can take pride in is our ingenuity and ability to adapt due to our strong will and determination... How would the world be if we just shut the door....pulled our troops from everywhere they are and brought everyone home....developed some sort of missle shield so no one could sucker punch us with nukes, and just chill here in the USA. It would be analagous with a set of parents leaving their children at home....in many ways i think the US is analagous to parents....and our kids definitely resent us...(I dont mean "kids" in a condescending way at all....just take the analogy for what it is) Maybe we have too many kids and cant parent efficiently. Maybe we dont have any business having all these kids...
  5. I agree! A Thousand Beautiful Things is an amazing song also... FYI lol.... Sting & Annie Lennox with Special Guest Sound Advice Amphitheatre, West Palm Beach, FL Wed, Sep 8, 2004 07:00 PM sting and annie lennox! that's going to be a really nice show---id love to see them both together. shiiiiit. aside: im going to see Eric Clapton here in ny @ MSG this summer---
  6. i listened to both of them yesterday. Tiesto's is a total remake of the original classical piece composed by Barber, its much edgier with a solid bassline. where as Ferry's is just a minor remix of the William Orbit version. its just tweaked a bit, a little too light and fluffy for my tastes nowadays if im picking between the 2. exactly. Ferry's remix is a disgrace. It rapes Barber, the original Adagio is one of the masterpieces of the 20th century. Ferry just gives it a happy fluffy feeling that does not do justice to the original tune, while Tiesto's take is darker and more inspired. the way we're supposed to listen to Barber in the 21st century. About the album Just Be, it was a dissapointment for me because it has way too many vocals. But the production quality is excellent and much more inspired than Reflections, 76 and Right of Way altogether. btw, this is Pio/YaleTrance for those of you who know me from other forums. Hola Pio! It's Evo how the hell are you? 8)
  7. you're welcome baby girl. I actually totally forgot until you just told me haha
  8. :P :P 8) 8) 8) 8) Well, that guy was pretty freakin hot!!!! you think so? I thought he looked like Tom Hanks-- :-X
  9. Yet another superb night at Avalon! Once again I could not stop smiling--so awesome to see Nick Warren again! That man has some serious skills that do something to me whenever I hear them--- And Jody! wow he did an excellent job too...so impressive. Like Aryn said, their solo sets definitely dominated when they were collaborating---and I wasnt Overly impressed with Omi...she lacked enthusiasm and energy, but that's not to say she was bad... Nick Warren...his beats are divine, maybe even perfect. Jody too....both of them were spinning smooth progressive trance and house....minus the cheese----- how to describe it....kind of an evolved, more mature and quality sound... So nice to be with Carisa on the dancefloor in New York! (even though she was being swept away by boys for the latter hanf of the evening.) Several Europeans in attendance, as always it was great to gravitate to them and dance- And I must give my little lady aryn a shout---yet again we were able to groove so well together, and at the end of the night when eddie lee came on we were Very pleasantly suprised by how awesome he was....started his set with a great mix of clocks just like Nick ended with last time, and then threw down some really fun dirty shit that was really, really energizing to say the least. It was a nicxe contrast to the ups and down of the proggy beats we were hearing before. Loved the whole night--- here is a short bio i found on nick warren a minute ago, to give y'all some background. http://www.mmguide.musicmatch.com/artist/artist.cgi?ARTISTID=370557&TMPL=LONG#bio thanx everyone for such a fun night, once again
  10. are you a sociopath? anyway, this is a good question, John. I've wondered this myself...what is the story behind this?
  11. i think you're a nerd. i love you tho. :-*
  12. Norah, what do you shoot on? mini DV? do you have your own photographer or do you do it yourself?
  13. Well actually I'm not even sure if it was a margarita or just lemon-lime Gatorade? See, I had just come off a three day bender, hadn't slept in 72 hours & had just chased 3 Xanax w/ an Apple Martini. I wanted mexican food & ended up in Chinatown w/ a dwarf wearing a sombrero and serape. I think it was in honor of some Mayan demi-god, but maybe he was just celebrating his ethnicity. regardless of motive, he was awesome. The dwarf and I ended up getting into a street brawl w/ four memebers from the Yacuza (or Japanese Mafia if you will). We won b/c the dwarf also moonlighted as a ninja to make ends meet & we celebrated w/ Margaritas, but at that point the Xaniebars had kicked in and well you know how it goes....... you're insane
  14. what a nice post, Joey. you know I am always down to get drunk and belligerent, especially after the hellish past couple of weeks. The best Margarita in the entire city? That is a bold statement and I would like to verify.
  15. I think Friends was the worst show on television, and I was forced to sit in a room last night full of people who were all silent, all watching it like it was an amazing classic show coming to an end. Pathetic. That link to shirts that Dan posted earlier....one of the T's was resonating in my mind ... "Friends is Over Kill Yourself" couldnt say it better myself. dumb show. dumb characters. dumb concept.

    TGIF!

We cant wait to have Carisa here-- ive got some plans up my sleeve that should be pretty terrific and give her a cool experience in nyc that most tourists dont get to have 8) very excited. My friend Danny is a photographer, and he always brings his camera out and takes amazing digital pix...Im sure he will be with us so not to worry about the pictures
  17. awesome guys, have fun-- Definitely a great opportunity to see a great DJ spin on an off nite--- where the crowd will be much more authentic and less trashy- id go and just go into work in the afternoon...
  18. because Max is spinning at a shitty club...and WoW is spinning at one of the best...(if not my favorite place to go for the DJ, rather than just the scene)
  19. it better be good. I kinda wish it was just Nick, though. is that bad?
  20. well that is just wrong. a president can only serve for two terms - the 22nd amendment says nothing about consecutive terms - where'd you get that from???? Amendment XXII No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once. Well it appears that you are correct. I did some research, and now I see that I was totally off. I really did think it was two consecutive terms! shit... apparently you really studied this time for the bar exam! you really know your shit now, son. xo
