  2. 8) what do you have up your sleeve?
  3. Jesus Christ kids....what an amazing night that was...I just cant get over it....I got to attend with a group of my favorite friends----and the place was insane! Â Way too crowded in the beginning though, so my friends and I relaxed a bit up in spider and met some seriously awesome characters. We went back and forth constantly because there was just so muhc more room in there and there were a lot of cool people to mingle with. Everyone and their mother was tripping on ecstacy. Â I saw some people so $%ucked up! Â I saw countless people fall down the stairs, and one man fell down the stairs, insisted my friend Ryan was actually his Friend Simon, and then he lit his license in his mouth and tried to take a drag, as if i were a cigarette. Â Drugs were rampant at this event. I keep thinking it's Sunday. Charles, you looked amazing in that cape or jacket you had on--(thank god we avoided that line) And the girl looked like a straight up gal, you seem to be living upto your NYE Resolution of no chickenheads. Anyway, thanks for the effort of calling my cell to try to find me...we both were obviously fairly inibriated and the place was jam packed... but i did manage to see Joey and we spent most of the night together...and as it turned out joey's friend went to high school in Ohio with my friend Ryan. Â small world. There was a strong sexual vibe in the place. Â Lots of ladies and gentleman were really all over eachtother and I felt the constant anonymous pinchings on my ass while passing through the huge crowds. Â I love New Years... Sasha's set...I mean, I cant imagine it not being one of his best. Â Enlighten me, Joey and Charles if I am incorrect. Â He came on at around 11:45, just when i got there, and rang in the new year with track sasha vs. underworld - wavy gravy vs born slippy.....shit the entire place was amped...Dirty Sticky Floors sent the roof off the cathedral, and his encore with Xpander was utterly amazing. Â utterly amazing. Â And being with so many of my favorite friends added to the greatness of it all. sharing music with best friends is the best! The people there were spectacular as well...Sososos many hot people, oh my god I was truly impressed--Charles you must have been goin nuts. Â I must have met 15-20 really profound people last night....at one point we had a section in Spider where we were sitting with 2 Israelis, a bunch of Aussies, (including Mike the floor manager---he is a fucking rockstar), a dutch girl and tw british girls, a miami couple, and myself and a few of my friends. Â Nyc is such an enabler for multicultural affairs and I love it... I think there was a spirit there last night that was unique or avalon-0---sasha draws a good crowd of people.... I eventually came back home around 8:30 this morning (we were on our way to Crobar but I decided against, I always ruin an amazing night by trying to go to afterhours. Â Junior was out of the question.) Â We put in Sashas essential mix and continued dancing a bit---and then had a lengthy discussion about Trance...and how shitty the crowds are at trance events....and how up and down and cheesy it can be....After seeing Sasha perform an 8 hour set last night, seeing Nick Warren, Steve Lawler, etc, I feel like Im getting a much deeper appreciation for consistent beats...that's what it seems like to me----just a consistent great time, some melodic epic moments but not Overly overly dramatic...and the people that attend events like Lawler, Sasha and Nic Warren are just so much better....much more my kind of people...not 16 yr olds with glowsticks and eyes in the back of their head. Â My friends and I were talking constantly today about last nights experience...it goes down as one of the best times I've had in awhile, quite possibly since Ibiza. Â That NYE spirit is so great in this city...and it is also a night for the Amateurs to come out and play hard...the people that never are crazy but decide to since it is New Year's Eve. Â Always a pleasure to watch them act silly and do dumb things, like light their drivers license instead of a cig. Â Joey and Charles, elaborate more on the time you had. Â How did Sashas performance compare to other performances you've seen. Â Do you think he played a bit harder sine it was NYE or did he spin his standard shit? he spun many trax that he spun on his recent essential mix. and yeah, the simulcast with digweed never happened, although i doubt a single person noticed.
  4. have you ever heard of a "beso negro?" it is a special type of kiss in castilian spanish. hmmm :-X

  7. I love french kissing. Im good at it too.
  8. this thread is superb! So interesting. IMHO, Levelistic is winning for best CJ name. I love the logic behind it. LisaLoca is runnner up. Since I started the thread, I feel like I am the judge too. 8) ;D
  9. happy new year everyone! and yes, pace yourself, or you will end up like I did last year....incoherent by 2am and not remembering a single thing the next day.... (and I was chillin with tiesto that night....watched the ball drop with him and his girlfriend on the terrace of The World....took pictures, and am in his DVD welcoming him to nyc and I remember Nothing! and i lost the camera )
  10. mi oven es tu oven, amigo. jeje. honestly I really dont care wtf anyone does- call my cell --- 917-696-5998 for details -- hope you can make it. i imagine we will start getting dirty around 8:30ish and leave for Avalon around 11ish.. Sasha is going on just before midnight...marathon set...and is spinning until 10am at least, if the crowd is still going, and possibly noon. ummm that's a long time.
  11. PS Kamikaze I dont know how you are posting the pix on but it is driving me crazy trying to figure it out!! isnt it: ?
  12. Here is a link to me. Â This photo was taken At Nick Warren's amazzzzin show at avalon about a month ago. Â im in the middle with the hat on. http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/aaronny8/detail?.dir=/Ferry+@+Avalon&.dnm=Evan+and+junkies+at+Avalon.jpg (copy the entire address)
  13. GK---George Karpel? Â is that it? Â I forget. dont be shy, elaborate!
  14. gotcha. I respect your position, albeit a bit stubborn---but im quite stubborn myself just in different subjects so I can appreciate if not empathize.
  15. Being an inquisitive journalist, I've often pondered how some of you came up with your cooljunkie forum names. Eg: Pod. What gives? Two peas in a...? Some of you obviously dont need to respond to this. Eg: nickjunkie. how clever, Nick. So I will begin. EVjunkie actually has two meanings. My name is Evan, and one of my nicknames is Ev. People often call me Ev. BUT, I also live in the East Village in Manhattan, so not only is my CJ name a nickname, it is an acronym for my neighborhood as well. Who's next?
  16. honestly, I may be juvenile but I dont think that "Music is the Answer" will ever be my ENTIRE motto when I go out for an evening...rather the company im with and the spirit I have will always be the invariable. music is a variable...and to me is not consistently what I step on the dance floor entirely for...Obviously if I attend an event with a headlining DJ that im going solely to see, Music is the Answer. But a random night at Crobar or any other venue for that matter, forget about it, im more into the people im with and the theatre of the absurd that ensues. Hands down. I think one of the problems with house heads and trance heads and metal heads and mullet heads etc etc etc is that they think their "gustos" are celestial and can never think outside of the borders of their limited imaginations when it comes to what makes them feel great. I mean, god, I Detest hip hop, but the other night at avalon, I was tearing it up with Jess in the hip-hop room at avalon....not because the music was on point for me, but because she is the best and I love her and being with her ==== IMHO, sometimes music can complement rather than centerfold....
  17. Angel Morael, by the way, was the DJ at Crobar on fri night. Â I enjoyed it music snob though....all music snobs think it';s so cool---and I could care less if someone is a MS or not...but when an MS makes their opinionated opinions abundantly clear during a set or at a live event, Music snobbism transcends to Buzzkillism, which is UNACCEPTABLE....totally not cool and I hope you arent that way joey... regardless i cant wait to tear up the dancefloor with you and everyone else tomorrow night!
  18. Tiestarminvandykenfold. jejeje that is funny! sounds like any random word in german. speaking of german words, did you all know that "fart" means car in german? When I was in germany I could never stop laughing when I'd hear it, and once i saw a big bus and it said "Tourist-Fart" on the side. a bit immature, but still funny. sometimes language can be amusing!
  19. snob. If you would have FOUND me like you said you would (my 12 calls to your cell would have easily led you to the incredibly conspicuous location where i was...) then you would have had more fun. I was in some rare form that night too---rare form for me is mighty naughty considering what is normal for me. jeje
  20. OK---I just got off the phone and two of my crazy friends from maryland are coming up too. Tickets for avalon can also be purchased at Avalon before 7pm today or tomorrow. Speak to a woman named Tara and she will take care of you without all the extra fees---$75 flat. not so bad, and then you'll have tickets and not have to deal with wiwll call. sorry Joey, I just found this out now when I spoke to her. Mi mal. I want you guys to come over beforehand...we just finished re-doing our living room too, it looks nice and needs to be christened with some good debauchery.
  21. it wasnt all trance at all! I noticed some disco house in there too, and some gay house, and some other various stuff.
  22. hehe. Â im sure we will prob get the party started around 9:30 or 10, ---normally that would be quite early but it is nye and id like to get to avalon a bit before 12. Â it might be wise to try to arrange entrance through spider club so as not to deal with finagling past the line in the main entrance. Â
