wow. such confusion. go to the hard drive's website and it'll tell you how to install it. if the slot is your only problem. then it isnt a problem. you will have to set your new hd to a slave drive. meaning you gotta move the two pins on the back of the hard drive you just bought. (look at website) and what is the transfer rate of the hd you bought. ata100? might have problems if your motherboard is old. but i guess thats another topic then.
