  1. I wonder if they will expand the size of the fenced off smoking area outside.
  2. Will there be afterhours at this venue? I know that shit is getting much harder to pull off, especially in Suffolk County, but what do you think will be the approximate closing time?
  3. Go chill at Webster Hall then. If you're a true house-head, this party should be just what you've been looking for. Rob James has ripped shit on the Island in the past, and was once the dj at one of the nastiest afterhours venue on Long Island. Eddie Baez's reputation at SF and The Tunnel speaks for itself, and Nero was nasty at Exit Saturdays before the end of the Saturday night parties there. Collaborations like this don't happen very often, and I know the music at this party will be fuckin nasty. To the people who put this one together: Good job.
  4. Was there a fairly large crowd? Also, was Junior spinning in JP's old booth, or has the club opened up the new booth?
  5. The spot that Nation will be held at has a shitload of potential. It was insane when it used to be Amsterdam. All of the dj's who will be in attendance at this venue are great. Eddie Baez, Anthony Nero, and, from what I've been told, Rob James. You can't go wrong with three dj's like that. The music will be insane.
  6. Shit..... Rob James used to rip that spot in half when it was Amsterdam. He's One of the nastiest Long Island dj's on the one and two's. Should be a great party. There has definitely been a serious need for such spots on the Island. Baez, Rob James, and Nero are a great combination.
  7. I heard he's going to be spinning at a nightclub callled "Eclipse" in Suffolk County on Friday nights. It was where "Amsterdam" used to be w/ Rob James.
  8. HBO's "Da Ali G Show?" That show was funny as hell. Is there a new season starting soon?
  9. He was tag teaming with DJ Russ Reign for a while, and their name was "LD30." The two of them released a remix of Ian Van Dahl's "Castles in the Sky" on Webster Hall Records (I think). I haven't seen or heard from either of them in a while, but then again, I'm not much of a Justin Time fan. I think Justin also spun the 4th installment to the ever-famous MDMA compilations about 2-3 years ago.
  10. lol, he is pretty dope, and has been that way for the past 6 years that I've been hearing him. I wasn't sure if he was going to be there tonight, however. Thanks for the info.
  11. Is he spinning at Sahara tonight?
  12. I definitely don't think he suffers from pedophilia, or that he needs any type of clinical help. I would be very surprised if these allegations turn out to be true. I'm sure we'll never know the real facts of the case outside of what is publicized anyhow, at least until the full judicial opinion beomes available for reading.
  13. I hit up quite a few of the Earth parties. For the first 6 or 7 months, the parties were insane, and Arena Classics was better than any party I'd ever been to at Sound Factory under JP's residency. But attendance at Earth did start to decline alot during the last few months before its eventual closing. Musically, however, Junior never fell off, even on nights when there were only a handfull of people in the club. I did go on one particular night when Junior took a leave of absence, and That Kid Chris ripped the place up very nicely for a couple of hours. Teknojunkee, Were there any reasons other than the dying crowd and shitty ownership / management that made you feel that the Earth parties were horrible?
  14. I'm more of an Eightball fan anyway. I've had better experiences with them re: special orders than I have with Satellite, Decca, and many other stores in NY and NJ.
  15. Hopefully it doesn't take them too long to find another spot. I was just there this past Friday, and I was actually wondering how much rent they paid for that spot.
  16. At least they're keeping the door price the same.
  17. Although hearing JP a few times at Save the Robots, I've only been a fan of him since the beginning of his Factory residence. I've always been more of a Junior fan. I do know that when Factory re-opens under Junior, I'm hitting that shit up. I've always wanted to hear him rip that place in half all morning / afternoon.
  18. I've been listening to house music since the early 90's, but I only started fucking around on turntables in 2000. I'm pretty good at mixing / beat-matching, but I still have yet to master it enough to spin in front of an audience for a considerable period of time. I also have to work on my programming. I guess spinning house has been more of a hobby for me. I've been buying and collecting house records for a while now, and I have a fairly extensive collection, but I've never thought about actually dj-ing for money. I've always just loved the fact that, whenever I'm just chilling, smoking a blunt, or having a few beers, I have my all of my favorite house songs on vinyl with tables to spin them on. I have been investing in a few more tools as of lately though, just for the sake of learning how to use them. It's cool just having a little set up in the corner for those moments when you feel like getting open and enjoying the vibe.
  19. I remember being pretty amazed by Eddie Baez's remix of Phil Collins's "In The Air Tonight" the first time I heard it. That song reminds me of so many good times.
  20. Yep, Rockell. "What you did to me" - Rockell (JP mix) "It'll take time, baby, wait and see - somebody's gonna do what you did to me.." Nasty build up in that song.
  21. The last time I heard "Moments" live was during my last trip to Tunnel in the summer of '99, and the song just echoed throughout the entire place. "Moments" will always be synonymous with The Tunnel in my memories.
  22. It takes quite a bit to disgust or offend me, but that fecal shit is just fucking terrible. I'd rather have a nude 90 year old woman pop up on my computer screen than see that shit.
