  1. I hope that SF under Junior's residency isn't strict with respect to shoe wearing. The staff at Twilo was pretty cool about that shit for Juniorverse, and I'm hoping that won't change. Somone like Junior should know why people come to his venues, and sneakers are a necessity for that very reason.
  2. You know, All of that asshole / fecal shit wasn't very nice. I opened this thread in the middle of my law school library, and half of the people standing behind me looked at me like I was some kind of deviant, lol.
  3. So you didn't know the name of the track - big fuckin deal. All that's important is that you like it. It's an older track, and if you've only been listening to house music for the past year, it's not surprising that you don't know the name of it. It's a classic NYC anthem.
  4. I heard the party is starting a little early (around 6 pm) to compensate for the lack of afterhours.
  5. I can't believe he got a limo just to go to Neptunes during the day time. I've never seen someone arrive at Neptunes in a limousine, lol.
  6. Who knows whether this will prove to be a bad move for JP. I have to admit that it does seem a bit strange for him to be spinning at a venue like Sahara. But then again, that place has its share of great dj's (Ojeda, Vicious, Boris, Escape) who come through from time to time. Many (and I mean M A N Y) of JP's die-hard fans are Long Islanders, so I'm sure many of them will make it out to Sahara. The place will most likely be mobbed, so that half-assed, tiny little "VIP" section in the corner of the club better not be roped off. Personally, I don't think spinning at Sahara is such a great move for JP, at least not at this point in time. I mean, he shouldn't hide out, but laying low for maybe a couple of weeks or a month while working on productions wouldn't have been such a bad idea. Allowing a little time for anticipation isn't such a bad idea.
  7. Apparently, JP is spinning at Sahara in L.I. on Thanksgiving Eve. That club is pretty small, and I'm not sure how they plan on packing in the shitload of people that will show up.
  8. The information posted on the SF website doesn't state that he'll actually be spinning there. They just state that there will be three parties celebrating his contributions to the club. If he's not spinning there, I have no idea how the club will pull those parties off and still attract a sizeable crowd.
  9. I hope that afterhours under Junior's residency doesn't wind up alienating much of the heterosexual crowd that has been there for the past 7 years. I'm sure many patrons will stop going, but the party should not advertise itself as one that caters primarily to gay men. As of the past 7 years, SF has been home to many loyal straight men and women who love house music, and alienating such an audience is just disrespectful. That same audience is the very reason why Grant is in the financial position he's currently in, and despite all of the inevitable changes that take place in clubland, those loyal patrons shouldn't be ignored. I sincerely hope that the old Twilo policy of turning away scores of women and heterosexual couples isn't reinstated at the new afterhours party. I'm sure many women will be told to step off the line, but the club shouldn't over-do it by making women the noticeable minority. Junior's crowd will become prominent as the night progresses, so letting in only a hand-full of women really isn't necessary. Junior's crowd is usually the chillest, most energetic crowd in NYC, but I'm sure many of the straight Junior fans will want to hit up afterhours with their girls.
  10. That hour long program was pretty disturbing. I smoked a little bit before watching it, and seeing Patricia all cracked out like that pretty much ruined my high. She seems like someone who's very emotionally fragile, and I don't blame JP for not wanting to hear from her. She seems like she could be a sweet individual if she got her shit together. All that K and Crystal is just killing her fuckin brain. Not to sound stereotypically psychoanalytical, but she seemed like something really fucked up happened to her in the past. I get the sense of either molestation or rape at a young age, I don't know why. The aspiring DJ seemed like he had a fairly good head on his shoulders, but seeing him fuck up his new job because of a night at factory was just dissapointing. I was surprised to see some older footage of Paris at the door, working the line, creating some excitement. That shit completely died out over the past year. At least there were some shots of Factory on a good night. Latacia's story was boring. K-Smooth reminded me of why I never go to Neptunes, and why I can't stand hitting up the Hamptons early on Sunday afternoon. I can't stand the fuckin vibe at Neptunes.
  11. According to the SF website, there will be three parties held to celebrate JP's finale as well as all of the contributions he's made over the past 7 years.
  12. Many individuals who frequented SF back in the day went to Juniorverse and Earth, and I'm sure many of them will venture to the new SF if Junior winds up spinning there. There are also a shitload of younger individuals, many of whom are straight, who head out to hear Junior's marathon sets (Myself being one of them). I've had many fun nights at SF under JP's residency, and I don't regret or look back on any of them as negative, drug-filled experiences. I met some of the most wonderful people during JP's residency, many of whom are still close friends of mine. There were MANY individuals who frequented JP's SF and were able to indulge responsibly and discretely. There were also many who didn't even do drugs at all, and would hit the place up around 11 am simply to dance into the afternoon hours. Sadly enough, the true house music lovers who frequented JP's factory were overshadowed by the stupid shit that resulted from the dickheads who went there. I think the best decision Grant could make would be to hold Junior's afterhours parties at least twice a month, since Junior often takes leaves of absence to do other shit anyway. And on other nights, Grant should bring in different house music dj's for afterhours, and have them blow the roof off the place for house heads who don't necessarily prefer Junior's style of house or his crowd.
  13. I hear you with wanting some women in the establishment. As much as I'm a Junior fan, some of his parties have been nothing but burley boys, lol. I really don't have a problem with it, since I go out only to dance, not to hook up, but females do add a nice balance to a nightclub. However, in all honesty, I have to admit that, as heterosexual as I am, I've had greater times at Junior's afterhours than I've ever had at JP's afterhours. The music and overall vibe were just so much better. Even though Junior's afterhours are packed with a shitload of guys, none of them have ever been a dick to me, and none of them have ever given me nasty glances or even a hint of an attitude. I've always met guys (gay and straight) who were just cool as shit at Junior's venues. In my opinion, the crowd at Junior's parties are just nicer, and I've never feel that hint of testosterone-induced drama that I do at other clubs.
  14. As much as JP will be missed, this party will be nasty if it actually happens. I've never been to the original SF or Arena, but I've been listening to Junior's sets since The Tunnel and Juniorverse, and JP's afterhours at SF have never come close to even rivaling the quality of Junior's afterhours. Junior is just disgusting on the one and two's, and he'll rip SF a new ass. Junior, at his best, pulls out all of the tools and lifts the entire place off its feet. I hope the afterhours last long, in true Junior fashion.
  15. This is pretty upsetting to know. I've had 7 years of wonderful experiences from that place under JP's Saturday / Sunday residency. His dedication to the scene helped keep alive a city that was (and still is) hurting for real afterhours venues. However, I can't necessarily say that Junior won't do good for the club. If he is made resident dj, he will turn out some nasty fuckin afterhours parties.
  16. I'm not much of a video game player, but I rented "The Simpsons: Hit and Run" for Playstation 2 the other day, and I must say the the game is great in every aspect. The creators paid so much attention to detail.
  17. The Sunday afterhours parties at Dischoteque have been incredible. The addition of Sunday afterhours to the Dischoteque lineup was a superb idea. Keep up the great work guys.
  18. Was there a good turnout? I was planning to hit Discotheque after SF, but I was too tired. I thought the party at Dischoteque would've wound up lasting into the midnight hour.
  19. Yeh, the Quasimoto show was pretty cool.
  20. How was Junior? Good party? What time did it end?
  21. What time did the party end? I left around 5:20 pm.
  22. I got home at 5:45 pm. Party was fuckin Nasty. The reopening of the bar added to an already beautiful vibe. I regret leaving so early. Haven't felt a vibe that good in a long time.
  23. I may have to split the night up between Factory and Discotheque.
  24. If anyone has good copies of the following records, please PM me - I'm interested in purchasing them: Open Your Mind / Darkside - Future Primitive The Drums - Cosmic Gate Amsterdam - Rob James The Future - Future Primitive Lightning - Future Primitive Shirushi-O-Chodai - Shunji Moriwaki Jark Prongo - Movin Thru Your System
  25. I usually head out around 6 am, but before heading out I usually wake up around 3:00 am, exercise, shower, eat, down a couple of shots of JD (green label), smoke a blunt, fuck around on the one and two's, then head out. If I decide to go out when I'm swamped with work, I may study until about 2 am, cat nap for two hours, wake up, shower, eat, then head out.
