  1. This sounds like the perfect place to hit up later tonight. I might just show up around 4 ish. Matt, did Razor wind up coming through to chill at Nation last night? I thought I saw him chilling by the booth. Also, how late did you guys wind up staying open? Did you spin at all?
  2. I'm sure this will be a great party for Sound Factory, although I have absolutely no qualms about Junior's party. You guys need to learn how to spell-check your promotions before you post them, especially for a club like SF. People fuck up all the time, and I know proper grammar and precise spelling isn't that big of a deal, but it's the little things that make the difference! Some other pattycake was posting the name of this party as "He-Do-Ism" and "He-So-Ism," lol. That shit had me cracking the fuck up.
  3. The last free-for-all was the one night I missed. I'm glad they're doing another one.
  4. Who's heading over there for the underground free-for-all? Dj Hurricane, Rick Santiago, Rob James, Dj Pryde, and Eric Crecenzo. Music will be simply insane, especially with these guys going back and forth all night, rocking the shit out of the place. I'll be in attendance around 12. I'm definitely closing this one out, especially after having to leave a little early last weekend just as Johnny was starting to kill it. I don't want to miss any of these guys. Look forward to seeing the regular Nation crew and many others in attendance tomorrow night. - Rudy
  5. I'll have enough to time to recoup from Nation this Friday, so I'll most likely head to Factory this weekend. As I stated earlier, I went once since Junior's started spinning there, and I had a great time - definitely greater than the last few months at Soundfactory under JP.
  6. I've been to Sound Factory only once since the beginning of the RAW party, and at no time did I notice any type of "men-only" policy at the door. In fact, many women (beautiful and not so beautiful) were being let in with no problem. Obviously, the crowd was predominantly gay, as is a large portion of Junior's following, but the vibe never struck me as being unwanting of women. Overall, the door policy didn't seem nearly as fucked up as it was for Juniorverse @ Twilo.
  7. Renegade, long time no see. Damn. Talk about a blast from the past.
  8. I posted this in another related thread, so for those who already read this, my apologies for the second read: Got to Nation early (around 11:45), and Rob was already dropping some nasty shit. I wound up leaving around 4 a.m. because the bitch-asses who accompanied me couldn't handle their fuckin liquor. They came up to me at 2:30 a.m. on some "take us home" bullshit. I gave them the key to my car and had them sit in that shit for another hour and a half. The music was unstoppable, as it always is. As usual, Rob set up a dangerous fuckin vibe, and Johnny V brought that shit home with some nasty tracks, including a nice remix of DeLacy's "Hideaway" early on in his set. Johnny was definitely on point, and proved that he can still create a nasty-ass vibe when allowed the freedom to do so. I haven't heard Johnny spin that nicely in a while. Last night was perfect. Love and respect to all of the Nation staff for outdoing yourselves and bringing us yet another real, intimate, underground house party. Also, Michelle (the bartender), you do a terrific job every Friday night - thank you for helping to make every Friday night a treat. - Rudy

  10. If you're younger than 21 (but not really young), and you're with a few heads, you won't have a problem. You won't be able to drink, but you'll be able to enjoy a phat night of underground. Nation isn't about turning people away who come to enjoy some real music. Just show some respect for the establishment, be discrete, and you'll have a phat time.
  11. See you guys there tonight. Some underground JV is just what I've been craving.
  12. He produced alot of good Earth remixes during his reign at Exit as well.
  13. Xtc, Maybe you can touch base with a friend from this messageboard who happens to live within the vicinity of Nation, and then you won't have to worry about driving all the way back home. For a local party, Nation is turning out to be an underground force to be reckoned with. For a local venue, it's gotten off to a pretty good start, and is building a strong reputation based primarily on positive vibes and underground house music that can't be fucked with.
  14. Friday, January 2nd. If you're bringing heads and want to be comped, hit up MattM2o either through PM on this board, or through email at MattM2o@yahoo.com.
  15. Over the past 8 years of hearing Junior, he's been many things, but one thing he's definitely never been is "unprofessional." No one brings the energy to his party full force like Junior does for his afterhours venues. Junior plays a variety of music, and often samples and remixes some interesting shit, but he's never been "musically lost." As for his mixing, well.......let me just say that there have been a few instances where, like every dj, Junior has dropped the ball, but he'll pick that shit up faster than any dj. Overall, his mixing can't be fucked with. He knows his songs, knows his beats, and is fully equipped to turn out the greatest marathon sets in New York City. Even on nights where Junior wasn't spinning what I consider to be a great set, he still had total control over that shit, and still mixed as subtly and flawlessly as always.
  16. I will definitely be in attendance. I know that Johnny will bring his best game to Nation and flex his underground aresenal. Music should be insane. When Johnny V's on point, he's fuckin nasty, and I can only imagine what he's going to drop for the Nation crowd. Plus, the extra added incentive of Rob James only makes the night all the more perfect: "Underground...Program........" I'll be there with my crew on Friday night, and, like every Friday, I'll be laced up and ready to shred. Look forward to seeing you guys there.
  17. I'd hardly consider this post to be SPAM. This isn't relentless, tasteless promotion, and it isn't being placed in every possible area of the board (even where it has no relevance). You're a little confused. The women who venture out to Nation are beautiful - they usually love dancing their asses off, and usually know how to move very well. The atmosphere in Nation is great. See you guys again on the 2nd.
  18. Damn. All this talk about canned food is making me fuckin hungry. Time to break open a Campbells Chunky Soup.
  19. Matt's on the job, and is in the process of getting some superb underground talent in there for us. Eddie was on point last night like a motherfucker. He changed the vibe up a bit with some uplifting anthems and some nice vocal remixes. The night wasn't as deep, dark, and dirty as the usual Nation nights, but it was nonetheless a great night of soulful house music. . What else is there to say about this party? It is the best fuckin venue to hit Long Island in years. Hands down, it's the nastiest Friday night party on Long Island. I am so glad there is FINALLY a fuckin change from the watered-down venues that have been flooding (and continue to flood) Long Island. Thankfully, this change is being headed by a crew of individuals who are dedicated to underground sound Rob James has always been true to his crowd, and last night he turned out some nasty vibes in the beginning and end of the night. His talent is indescribable, and his sound is Nation. Matt, Rob, BobG, and the rest of the crew: thank you for yet another great Friday night. See you guys on January 2nd. - Rudy
  20. I'll be in attendance with Disk-ofreak. See you guys in a little while for another great night. Tekno, I'll be the one with the brownish-plaid shirt and black Jagermeister hat. Hope to catch you there this time around. - Rudy
  21. Not too sure about any hip hop / reggae spots for 18 and under. Have some adult buy you various liquors, try to get a half ounce of weed, shack up in one of your friends' basements, crank Supa Cat, Louie Rankin, old Shabba Ranks, Black Uhuru, Bob Marley, Capleton, Ninjaman, and just chill and enjoy the vibes. Invite some guys over too. See how tings a gwan den.
  22. This shit is going to be great. Nation is the perfect venue for Baez to unleash his arsenal at. House Music All Night Long. I'll be the kat in the black Jagermeister hat. See you guys there.
  23. I will be there early for another great night of house music. I haven't heard Eddie spin in quite some time, and Nation is exactly the type of venue I want to hear him at.
  24. See you guys again this Friday night. We will have a phat fuckin time once again.
