  1. "How was your evening so far?" Everyone's playing it. The first time I ever heard it S and D played it (I don't remember which one) when I was in Ibiza, and since then everyone's playing it. It fits into any kind of set, progressive or more soulful house. I hate Josh Wink and think he can't DJ for shit and is an arrogant bastard, but he really made a wicked tune here. Also, "Flash" is something of the track of 2000, at least the first half of 2000. JohnB
  2. I just want to say that he tore it up last night at Centro-fly. I had never seen him spin before, and I thought he was brilliant. He was spinning a lot of Ibiza-greatest-hits kind of stuff, (that's what I call that sort of Subliminal style) but he was doing amazing buildups to everything, lots of scratch tricks and wicked beat mixing to build tracks up. He played lots of different stuff too. He even mixed in a couple of 80s tracks (and it worked, wasn't cheesy) and some more progressive stuff as well, like Flash and Roaches. Anyway, I'll definitely be going back to see him next time he spins there. JohnB
  3. GO PVD!!! HAHAHAHAHAAHA!!!!! The funniest thread ever on this board! JohnB
  4. Almost the only place Danny is willing to play outside North America seems to be Home in one of its locales. I'll bet anything if Home opens up in NY Danny will have some kind of spot there. He's the biggest draw by far at Home in London, and he's doing opening and closing parties for Home in Ibiza, the top club there. JohnB
  5. BlueAngel, I tried to get in touch today but no answer. Give me a bell when you get a chance. Are you going to S&D on Friday? JohnB
  6. Boa, You are exactly 8 days older than me. lol I guess it's dangerous to respond to someone in this thread, but I thought it was worth mentioning as a side point. JohnB
  7. I probably shouldn't ask this question, but when you say JB exactly who would you be referring to? JohnB
  8. I'm there. Post when it's definite w/time and place. JohnB
  9. Actually people do live in Ibiza, some people move there and can never leave. And for wildness, nothing compares. I mean NYC is cool and all, but when I go to the clubs I don't feel that they are very wild. In some ways a bit too subdued by their urban attitude kind of feel. I mean there are some really cool clubs here, they just aren't wild. JohnB
  10. They finally realised that some of the people might suffocate in that little hallway, so that started letting everyone out faster. I don't know why they were so slow, my friend who got out before me didn't get searched, but still had to stand there a long time waiting to get out. I think it's totally stupid, because the security guys were really searching people and a guy I went with got turned away because he had a bag of weed on him. Then I went to Twilo afterwards, and they didn't even pat me down on the way in. Everyone was off their head in Twilo, but in Vinyl only a few people were. Why the attention there? I did hear though that one of the reasons was that they were selling alcohol w/o a license. When I was there two weeks ago I was getting beer at the front bar. I noticed the same barman who sold me the beer getting hauled off in handcuffs. But making people go out so slow when it was 150 degrees was an outrage. JohnB
  11. Oh, I get it, you were just waiting for someone to associate your veiled referrence to drugs so that you could make fun of them. I used to tell a couple of jokes similar to that except they related to sex, mentioning things with double meanings and then saying someone has a dirty mind for making the association to sex. One small hint though, that kind of joke works much better in person. And if you were really curious, why didn't you just ask who does coke? Because let me tell you, I buy it by the kilo just for myself. I love coke and have been doing it since I was 6. It never gets old. I'm a complete addict, and I spend every dime I make on coke, so it's very fortunate that I am so rich that I can afford to cut lines 30 ft long for me and my friends. You should try it some time, it's a great substitute for sex. I hope you can come up with something humourous from this post. JohnB PS I love "BlueBallsAngel" LMFAO!!!
  12. Blue, It always works that way. You need a break sometimes, but then you come back more into it than ever. We still on for S&D this month? JohnB
  13. I'm there. When are you going? BTW, I was at LL on Sat, but I had a strange night because of some idiot people I went with who I had never met before, friends of friends. They made me get so drunk I couldn't even stand, much less dance. The music was wicked, but I really blacked out and couldn't enjoy it the way I should have. It's been a month since Ibiza, gotta get back on the good stuff. JohnB
  14. Shit, I forgot, mail me at johnbtravels@yahoo.com
  15. Damn, this board is pretty hot. I've got a great pic of myself I really want to post. Problem is I just got it as a picture on e-mail, and I am a bit of a computer idiot so I don't know how to post it. If anyone could post it from an e-mail, or if you're just for some reason really curious what I look like, let me know and I will send it to you and I would be eternally grateful. It's only 52k so it wouldn't take up much space. B2B you can do it can't you? JohnB
  16. LMFAO!!! I saw somthing similar in Mixmag once. It was an ad for clubbing action figures. Some that I remember are: Girls in a varied assortment of cowboy hats and spandex, equipped with extra heavy standing base to keep them from moving too much. Not allowed outside of roped off VIP area. The DJ girlfriend- Equipped with special pouty look and unable to be moved from just behind the DJ in the booth. The suit- Always looks an idiot in any club, but must be a part of any set for authenticity. Smart Casual- Comes with special shirt that doesn't wrinkle, and unremovable sunglasses. The anorak- Only sold in sets of one. There were a lot more, but I can't remember. I really liked the suit and the DJ girlfriend anyway. JohnB
  17. I'm down for Thursday. I'm getting together a group of people to go to Centro-fly, so it would be cool to go somewhere to have a few drinks first. Around 10 would be good. Let me know. I'll mail you anyway CM. JohnB
  18. Muthaload, It's funny you should say that because all the best pills I've ever taken, the ones that just totally warped me, were all given to me by gay people. I never thought of that before, but it's definitely true. Oh well, off to find a gay drug dealer. JohnB
  19. I know Blue, everyone thinks so when they first meet me at a club. Something about sweaty all night dancing in a sleeveless shirt and being in really good shape but not a juicehead makes everyone think so. I'm used to it, although I wish I got half as much female attention in clubs as I do male attention. I'd have a record like Wilt Chamberlain. Maybe women just don't think I'm interested because I look so happy dancing. B2B, you're right. If you're a guy who actually looks comfotable dancing intensively but not like a raver, people naturally assume you're gay. Actually who introduced me to clubbing was a gay hairdresser I used to go to in college in Atlanta. So maybe starting off in gay clubs gave me a certain demeanor that I just can't shake. I've always prefered mixed clubs to straight clubs because the atmosphere is always better. JohnB
  20. This post officially makes me a clubber. YYIIIIPPPPPPEEEEEEEE!!!! Is anyone going to LL tommorrow to catch Mr. C. I never saw him spin, but a friend of mine is really into him, so looks like I am going. How is LL? What is the crowd like? Please tell me it is mixed and not meatheadish. Any dress codes? JohnB
  21. Name your time and your place and I'm there. Anytime from Sunday on. JohnB
  22. I had a guy gay say to me once after he tried and failed with the free coke trick which I so greedily accepted tell me that if I ever came out of the closet I would instantly lose my ability to attract gay men and strainght women would be all over me. I thought about how to do it, but it sounded too complicated and I'm not so bad off now anyway. Jilly thanx for the kind words. A friend of mine told me once that you shouldn't worry about what you look like because even if you're fat with a deformed face, there is someone out there with a fetish for your type. But seriously, if you ever see a 6'4" skinny white "prettyboy" in a tight black t-shirt in the middle of the dancefloor it might be me so come up and say hi. JohnB
  23. I'm straight as an arrow unfortunately. I say unfortunately because I've always wanted to be bi. But as much as I think about it, I am not. In the end, I just don't see how anyone, male or female, could be attracted to a man. I'm sure there's something, but I just can't see it. It's a shame too because I am one of those guys who seems to be somehow much more attractive to gay men than to women. I've never figured it out, why I get more male attention than any guy I know gay or straight, but have trouble getting female attention out at a club. And people who don't know me often think I am gay. I guess it's because I am skinny and muscular and wear tight t-shirts but do not look at all like a meathead, and I also have lots of gay friends. I often say I am a straight man trapped in a gay man's body. And it is true the gay scene can get a bit sleazy sometimes. I don't know how many times I have been invited to do drugs (usually seems to be charlie) with some nice guy and I do it and then he's mad when I don't want to have sex with him. I try to stop myself now, but it's always tough to turn down free charlie. JohnB
