  1. I used to be but now Im back in school. I did it Europe though, so the hours weren't as bad as here. There's a much bigger ass-kissing factor to the work here, ie you spend a lot of time at work doing nothing, but cant leave because your boss is still there. I dont know, depends what your next best offer is, but Id be hesitant. Also, don't do it for the money, do it as a stepping stone for much more money later, if you know what I mean. Don't bother unless you really aspire to make $1mn/year eventually and are serious about it. There's lots of greedy bastards out there, like me. Good luck, JohnB
  2. Oh, that's an, um, er, lovely place. And forget what you've heard about it being the most polluted city in the world. That was years ago. Now it's dropped at least a couple of spots, hasn't it? Sorry, don't mean to be a smartass, just had to. Sounded funny somehow, just swing on by Karkov. Are you from Ukraine? How'd you wind up spinning there? JohnB
  3. To visit go to Siena and the countryside of Tuscany. Definitely hit Budapest (I lived there for 3 yrs if you want anything specific) and Madrid and Barcelona. Mad parties there. Last time I was in Barcelona was in Spring and I went to a real cool place called Discotheque, but it changes all the time, and it's not hard to find either if you look. There's also a lot of clubs in little shacks sort of on the water front, which to the Spanish are like pre-clubs, meaning they only go till 4, when everyone goes on to a club like Discotheque. Everyone stays out mad late there. JohnB
  4. If not Ibiza then Madrid or Barcelona. The Spanish rock! Amazing vibes in that country. You can feel them everywhere, just walking down the street. So much energy. JohnB
  5. other than liking drum and bass and jungle, I can totally relate to almost all the jaded part. ROFLMAO!! JohnB
  6. But what if you're on coke and can't stop talking. I did that the other night. A friend and I were talking non-stop while dancing at the same time. Must have looked kind of silly. JohnB
  7. Columbia, but I live by NYU. I wish we could trade places. JohnB
  8. LMAO when I read that article. This guy totally plagarised it! You guys remember that guy Souvlaki? I'm sure this is him. He probably bribed one of the doormen at one of these places, stood in the corner and drooled all night(you know the look of these guys standing in the corner), and got really excited. JohnB
  9. You can't get off just because a cop doesn't read you your rights. You can only challenge points if you do something the cop should have warned you not to. For example, if he doesn't read you your rights and then asks if you committed a crime and you say yes, you can strike that confession from the trial, but if he just saw your man piss in public and then didn't ask him anything, doesn't matter. Sorry, JohnB
  10. Um, well, I mean not that I do it, but maybe because coke is, like, great. Happy rails, JohnB
  11. I was there over July 4th. Headed back this year last week in August. I know what you mean about being a wreck. I got the worst cold afterwards and was in bed for a week. But man it was worth it. JohnB
  12. If anyone wants to try a meetup, I will wander over to the seats right at the top of the steps from the bathroom around 1. I'm tall and skinny with brown hair. My pic is somewhere on that thread. Don't know what I'll be wearing, but definitely black pants and black shoes. Roger spins there on Saturdays when he's there. Anybody know when he's due next? JohnB
  13. Disciple is wicked, but I vote for Digweed (again) @ Fabric. I was at Fabric once and really dug that place. Have fun, JohnB
  14. IMO, Roger Sanchez is one of the top 5 DJs in the world. I don't get it either why no one talks much about him. He only spins here once every 2 months or so. Morrillo though is almost every week except during summer when he's in Ibiza so much. He's sick too, but Roger's in a world of his own See y'all on Thursday. BTW, there's a Twilo meetup every week on this board. When are we going to have a Centro meetup? JohnB
  15. There's a track out by Sirus called "An Eye for an Eye" that I heard DT play a couple of times. Anyway, I have the record and the other side has a Halo Varga remix that I think is better, but I have never heard anyone play the remix. JohnB
  16. I used to be an insomniac until a friend of mine gave me a book called "The Six Healing Sounds." If I do the sounds before I go to bed I'm out like a light, and feel better the next day too. Maybe you can buy it on Amazon. The guy who wrote it is named Mantak Chia, and I think it was published in 1984. I have a copy I'll loan somebody if they want it. Just PM me. Sweet dreemz, JohnB
  17. Where you from in Croatia? I went to some sick parties there. One was a whole weekend party on a very small island just off of Hvar with nothing but 50 people, speakers, turntables, and lots of E. It was the most unbelievable party I ever went to. Next summer I went back and they had a 4 day festival in Split, where I saw Jeff Mills and Mr. C among others. It was all amazing. Ah, I miss the lovely beaches... JohnB
  18. I'm 95% sure I'm going. I NEED IT!!! I'll be the tall skinny guy in the middle of the dance floor with the big grin on my face. JohnB
  19. I've always hated Spa, so I hear you on that one. I heard that they just started a new Tuesday party at Centro-fly that's supposed to be the new hot thing. Has anyone been or know anything about it? Thinking about checking it out soon. JohnB
  20. Everyone talks about no NY DJs, etc. Have you guys forgotten about all the talent that comes out of NYC that no one mentions? I mean, the Sanchezes, Morrillo, LL Vega, Frankie Knuckles, Todd Terry, AVH, etc. These guys are all NYC DJs, and almost (except for CM ) ever mentions them. Have any of you ever seen these guys spin? They are phenomenal (esp R Sanchez), world-class, as good as anyone. I like deep and dark prog house too, but you'ver got to give these guys respect. JohnB
  21. Oh and in New York I would say: 1. Roger Sanchez 2. Frankie Knuckles 3. Danny Tenaglia 4. Erick Morrillo 5. Junior Sanchez JohnB
  22. 1. John Digweed 2. Roger Sanchez 3. Frankie Knuckles 4. Danny Tenaglia 5. Anthony Pappa Doesn't follow any theme. I love all kinds of house music. JohnB
  23. Happykittn, (Cute name BTW) I'm a white-ass cracker motherfucker and after looking at your pic, if you every have any problems with your bf (not that I wish anything but the best for you two) I will certainly be there for you. BTW, in answer to the post, I think interracial dating is great and try to practice it as much as possible , but my parents don't . I've never tried to take any of my non-white girlfriends home to meet the folks, but that would be very awkward indeed. I think if I ever wanted to marry a non-white girl I just wouldn't tell my parents, and claim to be single. (Yeah, it's harsh. I'm from Virginia what can I say?) JohnB
  24. BTW, those smilies look nothing like what I had in mind. LOL, trial and error. :; JohnB
  25. Which question do you want answered first.
