  5. They go on & on about how dangerous E is and one of the main reasons they always talk about is that you never know what is in the pill you buy from some stranger and that it could be really dangerous. Well when it was legal (up until 1985), people bought MDMA and they were safe. They make it illegal, so we have no choice but to go to sketch-a-dealer to buy who knows what.... I say they are the reason its dangerous. Also there would be no "dangerous" drug dealing situations if you could buy it legally. I read that people used to buy it at clubs in Houston as a feel good energy pill, and noone died, etc... Why can't I buy Molly at Twilo? Now that would be ideeeal! Plus Uncle Sam could get rich off of us partying... Now that would be Ideeeeeeeeal!
  6. Exit is a tad mainstream (a hell of a tad) but its definately worth checking out-the venue is awesome... I went once on a Saturday and once on a Friday - Saturday was mobbed and it was mainly commercial house and vocals, etc.. Friday was Slamming hard house and a little less crowded and once a month there's TRance upstairs in the Champagne room My choice - Fridays, but it depends what your into..
  7. Had to let everyone know- C. Cox ripped it uplike no other on Fri- OFF THE HOOK!!!!! Twilo was the perfect atmosphere, the crowd was chill, and the beats were slammin!!! Don't miss the next Cox party- I love trance, and I had a better time here than at Sasha Digweed...... Anyone there also? - back me up onthis!
  8. Bottom line- Just because there are female DJ's who are better than you, don't start making generalizations - Just practice harder... Dont be threatened by them, just admire them for blowing up in the face of adversity from the likes of you.
  9. C'mon guys I know its simple but might as well help a brother out! Paul Oakenfold - Dance music legend since the 80's from Europe - Now spinning Trance a lot of anthems, Go to Roselands on Thursday night- he's spinning.
  10. Buds are a must, bombs are too, too, too good. I've quit them several times...... ..... So whose dropping this Fri? Where?
  11. Really?? That would be huuuuuge! What night? - Fri?
  12. Check out Roseland this Thursday - Sandra Collins and Paul Oakenfold are spinning. Too bad there's work on Fri...
  13. How are Fridays? I know that doesn't answer your question, but we were thinking of heading to Limelight & I hear Friday is better than Saturday - I can tell you that Thursdays always sound fat as hell, but I always have to work on Fri.... D & B this Thurs @ Lime
  14. Yellow Sunshine's = summer of 98 madness Best ever, even though you're cracked out for 5 days I'll look out for bulls....
  15. I kinda hear what you're saying, because a skimpy wife-beater is a lot less tasteful than a colored tanktop, but isn't that a bit superficial? I say who cares what brand, but if style matters, just make it something a little bit nicer than a straight-up white wife beater (Maybe you could draw an American Flag on the front so it looks like a polo shirt)
  16. My girlfriend and I always complain about the same thing. You go out to dance your ass off, but you have to put on Dressy clothes to get in... Even worse, fancy shoes that you can't dance in. I wish they at least let us wear sneakers. The stupid part is, you have to dress like a champ to get in, but everyone inside is a sweaty mess, and half of their clothes come off anyway - everyone ends up looking crappy, so why do we have to start out looking good? It's kinda cool to be decked out and feel like you're in a (somewhat) classy place, but the option should be ours.... I hear Vinyl has a less strict dress code - is that true? Tunnel you can dress down, but noone's really inside the place. Any other mega clubs let you in with sneaks?
  17. Don't get your hopes up....... Although Peter and I go way back, he never seems to return my calls (JK)
  18. When are you coming to NY? Twilo Fridays and Wednesdays have trance a lot. The last friday of every month is Sasha Digweed. Sometimes its not trance on Fridays, though - Carl Cox, Jim Masters, etc... Liquid has good trance parties Not too many mega clubs seem to have trance anymore, but maybe the best thing to do is go to club search in Clubnyc.com and search for Trance clubs -
  19. The Vanderbilt is off exit 49S on the LIE (I think it's either Plainview or Bethpage) World famous venues such as Twilo...... ........ Vanderbilt I doubt Sasha is gonna take that plunge.
  20. The tunnel would definately blow up again with Viscous spinning, and viscous would definately blow up further by spinning at the tunnel - its a win win deal for both of them. Hopefully it works out....
  21. We decided to stop by the tunnel on saturday, and there must have been about 500 people there at the peak of the night. I haven't been there in 1-2years, but I never expected it to be that bad. Maybe it's because it was 4th of July weekend, and I hear it's better on Fridays, but I couldn't figure out how they even made $$. The space still has such potential, but they need to do something to fill that place up. Maybe a rave in there or some special events w/big name DJ's. Any ideas- maybe P. Gatien will read this and take our advice - maybe he'll laugh in my face because there's no $$ to do anything.
  22. No doubt the trance sounds that were huge last summer are being rearranged and imitated and now sound old and cheesy, but there are still good trance tracks coming out these days. You just have to look for original stuff. I guess it is all getting harder and more minimal though. Can trance really die? To me trance is house/electronic/dance music that has a dreamy, hypnotizing effect on listeners. I just feel like people, especially those who are rolling are gonna keep wanting to hear trancy stuff, whether it be trancy house, progressive trance, trance/breaks, or any other genre with a trancy twist to it. Maybe trance is changing, not dying.
  23. Looking for someplace to party this friday. want to dance to Hard beats (trance & house). I don't think Twilo is the place though, Sasha Digweed = packed with no room. Any ideas - raves, clubs? Want to recommend any sites for rave info? I liked ravesource.com and of course - clubnyc.com...
