  1. Zorros - (White)I hated them .. they were potent, at least, but you know the beginning part of a good roll, where you don't really feel like talking, and your legs get rubbery and you just want to sit there and wait for it to fully kick in, well that's what the whole trip was like...not really too fun. there were lotsa visuals, though (certainly not anywhere near pure) ------------------ Jewel Promotions invites you to CHECK OUT NYC's Newest PROGRESSIVE party SATURDAYS at WEBSTER HALL.... 2. Thanks PFloyd40 - for actually reading my post, not pulling things outta context... I feel like we're on the same page...I mean..I went to Exit and heard whoever opened for Boris (or Boris?) play Bruce Springsteen into Ordinary World, and It was one of the cheesiest moments I had ever heard. a few months later, I heard Sandra Collins throw on Ordinary World at the Height of her set, and it ROCKEd, and I would call her set more underground....I don't know my point, but someone on clubnyc would say Boris sucks hes mainstream, and Sandra Collins rawks! she's underground !!! but she played a song that was big at Exit on a Saturday, 2 months later, at Gatecrasher of all parties...A lotta this is a bunch of crap... Eddie mixes what he mixes, and he does it pretty well, well enuff to rise to the top of the NY scene, which is an accomplishment...I don't even like his song selection (at times), but I can mention his name, you know? and people will argue about something, and then forget and think they were arguing something else- like housemusic4ever - I was only saying that there is more than 1 style of house, not who is Underground vs. Mainstream... sometimes it's gotta be a challenge to mix songs that everyone knows into each other and add your own style to it...If you always mix shit noone's ever heard, how do they know what is your skills, and what is actually part of the song... sorry so long so long ------------------ Jewel Promotions invites you to CHECK OUT NYC's Newest PROGRESSIVE party SATURDAYS at WEBSTER HALL.... 3. Hey..! I'm not saying he's the man, (although you have to admit, he is in the BIg time) but he is a house DJ, prolly the epidome of NYC/Domestic/Tribal/Vocal House...I'm more a progressive/trance lover, but as a DJ, I do wish I was the one they called when they opened Exit, or when Roxy wants a new night, or when Webster Hall wants to be revitalized... ------------------ Jewel Promotions invites you to CHECK OUT NYC's Newest PROGRESSIVE party SATURDAYS at WEBSTER HALL.... 8. I'de say 1) Sound FActory - Just seems too be ridiculously loud, and pretty clear too.. 2) Twilo - quality, but I agree, could be louder 3) Exit - too much power for their speakers, especially by late night How's the system at Vinyl? how about Roxy? World? I also enjoy the sound quality at Limelight, though its nothing to write home about... ------------------ Jewel Promotions invites you to CHECK OUT NYC's Newest PROGRESSIVE party SATURDAYS at WEBSTER HALL.... 10. Try this gravity bong on for size- you know those big water jugs for the office water coolers, take one of those guys home, fix a nice aluminum bowl on top, and put it in your pool (summer only). Then pull it up, so it fills milky, and have someone (or yourself) swim up from under it, so their head is inside the chamber, then they can sit there taking hits with every breath....when they emerge, sobriety has left them.... ------------------ Jewel Promotions invites you to CHECK OUT NYC's Newest PROGRESSIVE party SATURDAYS at WEBSTER HALL.... 11. That's my feeling about blunts, also...It just seems like after you twist up and perfect a nice "L", its delightful to light that puppy up and send it around for 15-45 minutes.... its like more of an event..well I guess so is a nice 2-4 footer...well maybe variety is best... blunt rollers- who uses a filter? ------------------ Jewel Promotions invites you to CHECK OUT NYC's Newest PROGRESSIVE party SATURDAYS at WEBSTER HALL.... 16. hee hee...! I hear that...(I don't know ya, but I'm on the same boat...i'm almost not the worst..) Anyday now I'll make a tape with 0 train wrecks...) ------------------ "He who loves not wine, women & song, remains a fool his whole life long.." -Martin Luther King
  17. Thanks to the other guys who responded to this... I agree with housemusic4evers point about how Sasha, DT keeps the build up going and avoid too many anthemy tracks, (although a track that Sasha plays on Friday may end up being a popular anthem in 6 months - but that's a different story, but there is a reason that the word house is prefaced by so many other descriptive words like "deep" or "funky" or "Progressive" or "hard"..... because house is full of variety... try not to say things like "you make yourself look stupid" I mean, you just make yourself look bad....let's be civilized, guy ------------------ "He who loves not wine, women & song, remains a fool his whole life long.." -Martin Luther King
  18. I agree, I mean, obviously that's stereotyping a little, but 75% of the people I know who love rap kinda act hard, or at least did when they started, etc. etc.... or people who love metal are more angry with the world,e tc... But of course most of us like more than 1 style, like I still enjoy hip hop, rock n roll, etc... even though I LOVVVE my UPBEAT ELECTRONIC DANCE!!! BUt when I meet someone, if they're like "I love beats" then I'm thinking "NICE!!! we gotta chill!!!" and within a week or 2 we're drivin aroung with a blunt and some beats.... ------------------ "He who loves not wine, women & song, remains a fool his whole life long.." -Martin Luther King
  19. MABYE U... need drugs to dance fast but I don't. House is all buildups and kickin bass lines...that doesnt' take me on a journey. pvd does!
  20. Are they Orange smiley faces? we had those 2 weeks ago, they were OK, not really good if you ask me.. took a LONG LONG time to kick in, like 2 hours, and wasn't too strong...but we did roll..... ------------------ "He who loves not wine, women & song, remains a fool his whole life long.." -Martin Luther King
  21. yup yup, that's me.... a blunt, a bud, indeed together makes the L's that makes my eyes bleed.... (sorry, it was a quick rhyme) ------------------ "He who loves not wine, women & song, remains a fool his whole life long.." -Martin Luther King
  22. Sorry for so many posts... The one that came out spring of 99 was Myndi K - Moments in love... ------------------ "He who loves not wine, women & song, remains a fool his whole life long.." -Martin Luther King
  23. However, I think a re-release of Moments did come out recently - Are you talking about Moments in love (johnny vicious remixes) ? The recent release was a different song, that I heard on a mix CD about 2 years ago (not sure whose) ------------------ "He who loves not wine, women & song, remains a fool his whole life long.." -Martin Luther King
  24. I'm not sure about Silent Wishes, but Moments in Love has been out since at lease Spring of 1999. ------------------ "He who loves not wine, women & song, remains a fool his whole life long.." -Martin Luther King
