I only caught him once, but it was almost all HARD beats...as far as genre- I think it all depends who you ask...I have a few of the records he played when I was there (even a few he played after 5-6am), and they are found in the progressive trance section of stores, but depending who you ask, and what set it is mixed into, 3 people will call the same song trance, house, and/or techno...I was feelin it either way....I bet 3/4 of the people who rip on Exit Fridays have only been there on Saturdays and assume its the same thing only younger...BUT that's like assuming that Twilo Fridays and Saturdays have the same music - which we know, they DON'T! ------------------ Jewel Promotions invites you to CHECK OUT NYC's Newest PROGRESSIVE party SATURDAYS at WEBSTER HALL.... I gotta take a stand on this one... now I'm as ANTI-Exit as any PVD-head/trance addict, etc.. BUT, like many other clubs, Friday and Saturday are 2 DIFFERENT clubs at the same venue... I thought the beats I heard on a Friday at Exit were hella better than the cheese I've heard on Saturdays... You guys may want to kill me, BUT Jonathon Peters....the energy in his sets, the vibe at the FActory (in 97-98 when I first really got into the scene)...Incredible, Carl Cox- Great beats. good mixing, but the way he gets into it dancing tops it off. We started sayin it when we would smoke Garcia Vega Elegantes (El's) instead of Philly's or Dutchies.. but people say L about all blunts nowadays... I'd guess that although any DJ would rather be the only one playing his top songs, any DJ can play any songs he/she wants to. One thing to consider, if I spin a few of Junior's signature songs, there's a little more pressure to make sure I give a top notch mix, especially if the crowd also hits Twilo on Saturdays... On the other side of the coin, if I produced a song, I'd want every DJ to play it, and every clubber to go buy th single,, etc etc..Maybe it's different once you've reached super-DJ status and don't need the extra fame to get you started.... it prolly depends who ya ask...
